“V-viktor? What is all this?” the latter finally regained his speech and caught up with his partner, who was walking a few steps ahead of him.

“Zaun”, was the curt reply, but Viktor himself seemed to realize that something was missing ”We'll talk in a moment, when there's some quiet around us. Be patient.”

The fact that Viktor would even utter the word 'patience' baffled Jayce almost as much as this new Zaun around them. But he was a little relieved that Viktor could finally afford this luxury of being patient.

Fortunately, I know a few people in my position to shorten the process but the paperwork is...” Viktor replied dryly ”...deeply tedious to say the least.” “Once again, you think of everything.” Viktor's back received a satisfied pat. “I do what I can, Professor Giopara,” the dean joked as the two friends slowly left the academy grounds and stepped out onto a larger, busier street.

Almost a little startled, he traced the sharp, rugged features of the man staring back at him from the reflection.

There was something bitter and deep in the wrinkles around his eyes and the fine scars on his lips. Nothing was left of the youthful thirst for discovery of a student or a proud councillor. Too much had happened for that. He knew too much for that, by now. There was no turning back anymore. But maybe instead there was a way to settle down in this timeline and just...live. But when all thoughts consist of nothing but questions, where to start? Jayce decided against asking about things that had to do with their old timeline. After all, he didn't know what state Viktor's soul was in at the moment. So he tried the most obvious.

“How is it that it's you who's the Dean of the Academy and not Professor Heimerdinger?”

“Am I interrupting?”

Jayce would have recognized this voice among thousands. That very specific accent, which even after all this time he didn't know exactly where it came from. The relentless curiosity in the tone, paired with something mocking. And then that very sentence. What irony. A few specific words that had set everything in motion so long ago. The ones that had saved Jayce from himself.

“Viktor...”

He couldn't get out more than a whisper, the feelings that had just rippled through him were too intense, like a stone that had broken through the surface of the water. Jayce couldn't help but stare with his mouth agape. This Viktor looked so different from the images of him that Jayce's memories were forcing into his mind one by one. But it was clearly his best friend standing there only a few meters away.

When Jayce wakes up in an unfamiliar Piltover after the last battle, his first thought is of course to look for his partner. What he finds is a peaceful city in which many things have developed differently than in his reality.    

Together with Viktor, Jayce must find out why they have ended up in this timeline and if they have a chance to get everything right this time.   

But little by little they realize that dangers lurk in this world too: known and unknown

My Escaflowne secret santa gift for LegendoftheSevenStars

At first I wanted to write something but after a while I switched to an artwork instead.

It's supposed to be some kind of Best-Of of Celena :>

Her "sins" as Dilandau slowly dissolving in the past while still being a part of her. The support of her loved ones (Jajuka and Allen respectively) all while learing to finally live as herself and how she wants.

I really love the blue dress she wears in that one episode where we first really see Celena <3

The whole artwork is supposed to look like some kind of Fine Art Print. I hope I managed to convey that xD

Escaflowne Secret Santa: Return to Atlantis

“The founders of Atlantis, Plato said, were half god and half human. They created a utopian civilization and became a great naval power. Their homeland consisted of concentric islands separated by wide trenches and connected by a canal that reached to the center.”

Part two of my gift for @HeiloUnplugged

When I think of the character Dryden Fassa I first think of adventure, curiosity and… Atlantis! After all he is the the who knew a lot about it. And he was the one who really wanted to go on a trip there while everyone else was only thinking about war.

So, a few years back I wrote my first fanfic about Dryden convincing Allen and Van to go back to the Mystic Valley to unravel some of its mysteries. My writing sucked, but I still think the story itself was funny. It was a combination of a buddy road trip and some drama with Van seeing his ghost mum again and Allen retrieving the bones of his father. I intend to rewrite it someday. Not sure what the adventures will be precisely. But I had some images in my head I’d like to share here.

I wonder if Van could read the memorial plaques inscription?

Well… that escalated quickly.

After all, let’s not forget it was their wishes combined with Hitomis pendant that opened the portal to Atlantis.

What a great twist it was back then to add Dryden to the Escaflowne gang! The show wouldn’t be the same without his humor and lightheartedness. Although he could really check his privileges sometimes and the scene where he reads Leon’s diary are simply cruel. Still he enriches everything and is a great counter weight to all the seriousness and stick-up-the-buttery.

Escaflowne Secret Santa: Milerna & Dryden

Hielo wished for some Dryden. Although he is one of my favorite characters I rarely draw him. Because 👏 it 👏is 👏 difficult 👏 and I am lazy.

I have a problem with the adult faces in Escaflowne, it’s probably lack of practice. Still I am satisfied with the results I got this time.

I like how the entire fandom seems to agree that Milerna and Dryden somehow belong together.

While drawing I finally realized that Dryden looks a bit like Timothée Chalamet. The same curly hair, edgy face and bedroom eyes 😄

(This is the first part of my gift. First I had no ideas what to do and then too many.)
