I want to rage, to erase this crushing sense of helplessness in my lungs. To snarl instead of sobbing. I wanted to be shocked at this injustice. To be surprised and treat this as a horrific incident and not just a symptom of a bigger problem.
But I've witnessed how racist bigots reacted to Floyd, the instinctive racist response and "jokes" when people identified China as the one who was at fault with the whole COVID-situation, and how I immediately thought that those "low-key" racist thoughts will escalate someday to deadly actions. I listened to some of my friends when they said that I'm exaggerating.
And I wish- I wish I was. I wished that they were right and I was wrong. But look at our bloodied history. Look at where we are now.
So, April is autism acceptance month, and I’ve decided to spread some information for the NT (Neurotypicals) who might not know what’s okay and what’s not okay in regards to supporting ND (Neurodivergent) in their homes or community.
1. AUTISM $PEAKS IS A HATE GROUP no if ands or buts, they speak over us in harmful ways, DO NOT donate to them.
2. Do nottttt “Light it up Blue” This is a motion started by Autism Speaks, do do #RedInstead
3. DO NOT use the puzzle piece symbol, it is another product of Autism Speaks trying to “cure” us and make us feel like we don’t fit it
4. DO USE the rainbow infinity symbol, it is widely supported as a harmless symbol to support ND
5. DO NOT try to “cure” or invalidate ND people at all!! We are not toys are accessories,
6. DO try to educated yourself, do independent research on how you can make a difference.
Nothing about us without us.

[Image summary: A set of gifs on an experiment where a hidden camera is used in a public space to see how people react to domestic abuse. The first few gifs show a man abusing a woman, trying to forcibly kiss her, with a ton of women coming up to protect her.
Then the question “Let’s see what happens when the tables are turned” pops up.
The experiment is repeated, except now it the man being abused. Her behavior is much more aggressive, practically throwing the man into a nearby fence. But, this time, no one is helping the victim. There are gifs showing people, mainly women, laughing in regards to what’s happening, one lady eating chips like it’s movie popcorn as she talks to a man sitting on a bench. No one is helping him, not the ladies from before, not themen around him. No one.
The final image states plainly, on a black background, that “40 percent of domestic abuse is suffered by men” End Summary]
To donate £5 to the charity supporting the male victims of domestic abuse, text the message: MKDV46 to 70070
Okay, first time someone does that, I could see it as them maybe having some IRL backstory explanation, like maybe they came from an area where there weren’t any shopping centers or something and they assumed it was just a really big store, but the second time raises a few eyebrows,
Reblog if you think pansexuals and bisexuals can coexist and support each other!
I'm tired of hearing people argue that pansexuals are biphobic or transphobic. I'm tired of hearing that bisexuals are panphobic. I'm tired of hearing that my sexuality exists only to erase another. Aren't you?
I don’t think a lot of people understand that no matter how progressive or well-read you are, there are always going to be moments in your life where somebody pushes back against something that’s so culturally ingrained you never even considered it before. And you’ll say “Huh, it never occurred to me to challenge this but you’re right,” and that doesn’t mean you were “morally toxic” before, it means you’re a non-omniscient human capable of growth.
Also, some preferred terms for things will change and evolve, and terms we prefer now might eventually be considered gauche or even offensive, and that doesn’t mean you were a bigot at the time for using them. It means we evolved as a society and chose new terminology to reflect that change.
Nobody is a fully formed realisation of progressivism that can predict all shifts and modes of thought. The world will always change, and hopefully you will, too
This Twitter thread is life. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for ages. It’s the kind of validation us Muslims need but we are failed by our own community. Do find her on Twitter for the whole thread and reflect on the sins we commit towards each other in the name of religion
