flower ranchers please!! (tango scott jimmy)

Tango wants to wear the flower crowns with them, he does, but his hair keeps catching the delicate petals on fire. He gets all pouty, which Jimmy and Scott simply can't have.

It's not a perfect solution, but after some research and only a few instances of being withered, they are able to make a flower crown out of twisting vines and wither roses. Nether plants don't burn nearly as easily, and Tango gets a one of a kind of crown!

For theme (not suggestive, just silly bites)

Tango's love language is biting and its not a sexual thing. Just a way of showing affection, but he makes sure he has consent to, Etho doesn't mind the biting but he does mind the marks that come of it.

Etho doesn't want anyone to see the bite marks because he doesn't want to be asked questions, Tango always makes sure Etho gives Tango permission to bite him because its rude to bite without consent, Tango is a blaze hybrid so in the nether its normal for that to be his love language.

And Etho's love language is hand holding, not physical touch, just hand holding so Etho just latches his hand in Tango's hand while they work, cuddle, talking, or walking next to eachother.

Etho has learned that, if they're working together alone, he can maybe lose some of his layers and give Tango a bit more places to bite. It's easier to cover up afterwards if it's skin that isn't usually shown in the first place.

((Late for secret agents cause RL -_-)) Gem and Pearl go on countless missions together. Ever since they got paired up in training, they found they had the perfect skills to compliment each other. Pearl was great at hiding, Gem was a master of disguise. Pearl never missed a shot, and Gem carried more knives then you'd think possible. By the time they both were promoted to field agents, they already had a full routine set up! They also started dating and were prone to kissing whenever they had time close to each other, but that would've happened regardless, they think. The missions are just an excuse to take fancy dates to exotic places. What bothers Pearl though is a new method Gem's started using. Lately, she keeps playing these young and vulnerable girls with the awareness of a brick. Again and again, she sees her girlfriend get pinned to a wall, tied up, or even interrogated! Of course, it's almost always a ruse for her to get them alone or make them lower their guard so she can get the kill. She's never in any danger (and if she is, Pearl will readily take them out). But it's so FRUSTRATING for Pearl to keep seeing her girlfriend end up in situations like that when all she can do is watch from afar!

That's it. When they get back to base, Pearl's going to tie Gem up herself. Maybe THEN she won't find it so much fun!

Little did Pearl know that was absolutely Gem's plan all along and it took Pearl WAY TOO LONG.

T4T Rizzie for the theme <3 Ren is a trans lesbian, and Lizzie is nonbinary

A lot of people don’t seem to get it - after all, Ren looks so masculine, and Lizzie so feminine! How could they be a sapphic couple? They look straight! But they know better, and their extended polycule knows better, and that’s enough for them. When pride comes around, they’re both more than happy to show off their love, even to those who don’t see the nuances

Really, they can only cover themselves in so many pride flags before giving up! At that point, it's everybody else's problem. They're just going to enjoy the party.

Intimacy for scar is… scary. He can't walk, he can't get away if things get… uncomfortable, or worse.

So he usually avoids it. The rare times he had partners, they never went beyond kissing, a crippling fear of being hurt while vulnerable keeping him from enjoying everything.

Cub slowly helped him get out of his comfort zone. Not that he was aware of it - but sometimes he helped scar into his bed after a convex meeting that dragged on too long. He fixed his wheelchair after he fell down a ravine and it got ruined. Little things, that all built up to scar trusting him more and more.

Cub also gave Scar space, despite doing those things. It didn't seem like a conscious effort, just... Natural to him. If Scar wanted to leave a situation, he has no doubts he could. And that confidence goes a long way towards being able to trust.

(In the future, talking about their relationship, he can feel Skizz preparing to bring up Maslow...)

Grigem au idea

gem is life itself and grian is death. everything grian touches withers away in his hands. gem brings life to anything she touches. gem is the only thing grian can touch without destroying it.

Gem wouldn't say she has it as hard as Grian, but it's difficult when everything you touch springs full of life. Flowers everywhere, moss, ugh!

It doesn't stop them finding fun things to do, though. Like passing something (not sentient) back and forth. The process of decay and growth is fascinating!

Not to the theme(?)

When people ask, "so, how'd that happen?" to Jevin and Wels. It could be taken two ways.

As in "how'd someone like you (gesturing to jev), end up with someone like him (gesturing towards Wels)?" And every time it's asked, Jevin goes silent while fidgeting with his hoodie. And without fail every time, Wels comes right up behind Jevin. Glaring absolute daggers into the person before asking, "Excuse me?" It always ends with Jev having to hold Wels by the face to keep from another body in the garage. because it's getting full

On the other hand, when it's "so what's your story?" Wels goes quiet and red while Jevin proudly retells their story.

They've occasionally mistaken one for the other, but it's never been a big issue. Those genuinely curious understand, and those malicious don't care.

Wels does punch the latter, though.

Flower husbands for the theme?

Jimmy's never been quite as out and proud as Scott. Even dating him! Though, Scott does set a very high standard.

The only time they match is when they visit pride events. Jimmy gets all dressed up, Scott helps him do his make up (so much glitter.) Scott might outshine him, but that's only because Jimmy's biased. He loves the guy too much.

Since Mumbo is a "he/him lesbian" (as dubbed by Pearl and Gem), he sometimes just wears the prettiest things just because he can. His partner, Cleo, also loves when he dresses in pretty clothing. It's nice when you're partner likes to express themself with pretty clothes that nice to wear and look pretty. (mostly so cleo can take those clothes off of him)

The thing that's most impressive is just how many layers Mumbo manages to wear. Cleo thinks they're getting to the bottom of it, but no! There's always more...

As a slime, Jevin doesn't really have a concept of pride. That would require a concept of sexuality, which as an asexually reproducing being, he's had to pick up (same as gender! Who needs that!)

But, he still paints himself the colours of various pride flags during the month. And his lovely Wels helps!

Mumbo often worries that he and Grian look like the straightest couple at pride. Nobody has the heart to tell him everybody thinks he's a butch lesbian.

Cleo cares little for make up. To start with, green skin isn't exactly a common shade to match. Cleo can't be bothered with that hassle and that's only the beginning!

But for Lizzie, she'll sit down and let her apply make up. It's for pride, and Lizzie is so excited. So Cleo ends up with some very tasteful bi flag eye shadow and the realisation make up isn't so bad if it's her girlfriend doing it.

The thing that worried Jimmy most about marrying an elven king he'd only met once wasn't well... The whole marrying an elven king he'd only met once! No, because really, Lizzie would have his back if he needed it and it's hardly like he needs to interact with the guy outside official duties.

No... What's worrying him is the official duties. Like consummating the marriage. It's an outdated concept but elves are stupidly outdated. And Jimmy doesn't want to have sex with a guy he's just met! Even if he looked good (which he did) there's just... Nothing there. The idea is only a few steps back from making him physically recoil.

He could have phrased the question a little better though. Especially when it's their first time together without advisors at their shoulders.

But what a relief it is to hear that sweet voice reply, "Oh Aeor, no."

Coming up with ways to fool their advisors is the perfect way to bond for the rest of their date.

For theme

Tango had always said that he was straight, though it's obvious that he is not fully. And Etho sees though his lie. So Etho tries to get Tango to tell the truth by teasing and getting so close to him, the first time Etho did it he went close to Tango and wrapped one of his arms around his waist. Etho watched as Tango's face went beet red and he just stood there in shock, but not mad or upset. Another time was Tango was sitting on the roof of his house just to look at the view. Behind him Etho had climbed up as well and he sat next to him, this time Etho was flirting and lines he said was, "The view looks pretty because you are in front of it." that line made Tango blush a bit, "Thank you Etho" says Tango. "Are you actually straight? Or just scared of what people think?" Etho asked, "Im actually Pansexual, I didn't know if people would actually care about me if I told them that." Tango responds. "Well you're not alone, im Omnisexual, Gem is bisexual, Grian is bisexual, and Jevin is transgender. And many more hermits are part of the group." Etho tells Tango. Tango smiles and askes "Was all of that you being flirty and touchy and stuff just to get me to tell the truth? Or was all that true?" Tango askes, Etho nods his head and says, "Yes all of that was because I like you, and I didn't know if it made you uncomfortable but hey if you reject me I got to get your colors out." Etho says. As Etho stands up about to go, Tango holds his hand and gently leads him back next to himself, Etho sits back down and they end off in a gentle kiss.

Etho won't tell the others, of course. That's Tango's story to tell. But he's happy to hold Tango close for now even if it's in private.

impulse/etho/cleo/bdubs are my current favorite “rarepair”(honestly idk how much about them there is but i am going to make more) impulse uses he/she, prefers being called girlfriend but most other male honorifics are ok. etho uses he/they and is bi, and on the asexual spectrum towards the “ok but not preferred” side(i’m not ace but this makes sense for them imo). cleo uses she/they and is also bi, she loves pampering and bothering their partners in equal amounts. bdubs uses he/it(honestly it/it’s is so interesting to me), is pan and loves nothing more than being pampered.

bonus ethubs headcanon. they’re both aspec and don’t understand how what they’re doing could be interpreted as flirting.

Their relationship is a bit of a wreck, but they enjoy it. Really, they try to be as messy as possible during the Life Series because it's fun! An opportunity to play pretend and explore different relationship possibilities.

The cuddles at the end are worth it, too.

Gem must not know what she’s doing to Pearl.

Pearl refuses to believe that Gem would torture her like this. Putting a collar on her just before they leave for Pride? The only way it could be more embarrassing is if that collar had, say, a tag declaring her Gem’s property.

Why is Gem talking to this vendor for so long, by the way? Pearl looks closer at his wares and nearly dies. Collars and tags everywhere.

“So you how long will a custom tag take?” Gem asks, and Pearl short circuits.

“Gem!” she whines, face all red and her traitorous tail wagging hard, betraying how much she loves people knowing exactly who she belongs to.

Gem’s smile is gorgeous and absolutely evil.

What's even worse? Gem gets a tag for herself as well. She wears it on a necklace, or hooked somewhere on her clothes. It reads, "Pearl's Favourite Princess".

And she loves showing it off. Pearl can't deny it's correct!
