yuichi/leosagi/samurai rabbit hcs that are specific to my fic (dubbed graves au)

- leo and yuichj are both aroace and transmasc and will never kiss on the lips bc they think its nasty and gross

- yuichi doesnt curse bc his auntie didnt like that kinda language when he grew up and he thinks being crass is immature and he likes acting like hes mature , also hana being his little sister he doesnt want her to pick up bad language

- yuichi has gotten fired from most jobs bc he cant help but argue or yell back at annoying and entitled customers and the hidden city has a Lot of entitled customers

- also:

- chizu and kitsune are in neo edo while yuichi and gennosuke are in the hidden city

- yuichi and gen both hold a distaste for neo edo as both of them had to leave due to the ppl of the city being shitty to them in some way

- leo and yuichi both think romance is gross

- they are, however, in love

- or will be

- but not in a romantic way

- theyre the basement yard podcast

- yuichi’s love languages are acts of service (bigger one) and quality time

- yuichi is taller than leo (5’10 compared to leo’s 5’7)

- yuichi knows leo isnt a kappa but he calls him that anyways bc he knows leo hates it

- leo knows yuichi hates being called conejito which is why he started using it

- they both grow to like the nicknames as they get closer

- hueso calls yuichi “peluzote” bc it means dust bunny

- yuichi is a sumatran striped rabbit and arctic hare mix, meaning he’s mixed japanese-indonesian ! his mom’s side (usagi side) are all arctic hares while his dad was a striped rabbit , however his dad was raised fully japanese and so was yuichi

- yuichi has a winter and summer coat :] his summer coat more closely resembles sumatran striped rabbits

- yuichi’s first friend in neo edo was chizu, however they havent had much contact since he moved away since she is too busy with the neko ninja

- he and kitsune met in neo edo bc she stole his wallet but laughed at him bc he didnt have anything inside except for a few syrup packets and two joules

- theyre best friends now

When I read the last upd I remembered this post ⬇️ and that's how I see both Leo's views on each other:

The way that P!Leo sees F!Leo as this kind of hero because he's the one who kept fighting for his family over and over again in the apocalypse, because even after all those years he tried his best to save them. I notice that P!Leo almost acts like F!Leo is not literally an older version of him, but some kind of superhero, he says "I'm the one who almost started the apocalypse, i shouldn't even have asked"as if F!Leo didn't actually start it, because he sees F!Leo by his actions IN the apocalypse. Like yeah, he did cause the apocalypse, but he also fought against it every second of his life, not only for him, but for the people that mattered to him as well. He grew up, stronger than ever, that's what matters. F!Leo is not a bad person, he was just sixteen, he didn't know any better at that point, but he dealt with the consequences of it, like a hero would do.

And then p!Leo is F!Leo's reassurance that, no, he wasn't a terrible person when he was young, and, yes, he WOULD have done it differently if he knew, because he'd never ever hurt his family the way he did by causing the apocalypse, at least not on purpose. Differently from P!Leo, I guess that F!Leo actually gets the concept of P!Leo being literally the same person as him (especially after casey talks to him about it and he sees P!Leo saying "they made it about me when they took my brother") and that's why he critiques P!Leo so much at the start (*points to leo* the self-hate and low self-esteem are strong on this one) but grows kind with him so easily. P!Leo is not a bad person, he's just sixteen, he didn't know any better at that point, but once he did, he dealt with the consequences of it, like a hero would do.

They're each others proof that their mistakes do not define who they are, and that they'd have fought for their families anyway

another really fantastic detail from the s2 finale regarding Leo's powers... I've always loved the hell out of what they did cinematically with it, it looks and feels incredible and kicks total ass. initially I was under the impression that he was replacing his portals with his swords; that he was "traveling through" them per-say. but here --

...we can actually see Leo materializing SEPARATELY from his sword! you can see in the following frame he actually dissipates again and his sword continues flying along the same path untouched, inertia unaffected.

...and then he materializes again to properly align with it and catch it!

he's entirely not in contact with it but is implied to have already crossed spacetime. which means Leo can just... Do That. he's rapidly bending space to transmit his goddamn subatomic particles to a new location. the purpose of the swords isn't to do the portaling; it's to work as a landing pad. it's a vector point by which he re-solidifies the mass he's transporting. a familiar homing beacon he can align himself with on the fly.
