I feel like my life is a mixture of kids birthday parties (with lots of planning involved) textile work and lugging beer around... it’s a mixture I’ll give you that and variety is supposedly the spice of life but I would like a little constant and not so much juggling the 600 balls I seem to have chucked at me on a daily basis!! We popped this little shelving unit up last night and added a few of our favourite reads! As I have become older I’ve gradually appreciated the skill of slower living and craftsmanship. I studied textiles as university and have always adored all things creative and craft based but it now seems to be pretty on trend too. There has been such a shift in recent years, back to a more honest and hearty way of life. Ignoring the big black box in the room I’m liking the lighter look I am going for generally in our house... light (I’ve come to realise) is what REALLY keeps me going and as we edge towards the winter months I’m beginning to dread the darker days already.!! I’ve stopped for 5 mins away from the day job for @gatherbars to take a shot of this space in our en suite. It’s one of my fav rooms in the house!! I don’t post very often about the other day job that myself and @gatherbars run and own! Over the last 5 years we have worked like dogs and had some tough times growing this small business. We have sacrificed a lot in the process. An early morning start after a horrendous night of zilch sleep.. I have a stinking cold in June.. how has this happened?? Anyway enough of my moaning, here’s a shot of our downstairs bathroom which I painted last week.
