RULES

Works must feature a poly relationship of 3 or more characters.

Fics must be at least 1000 words.

Fics do not need to be complete at posting, but it should at least be the full first chapter.

No AI generated content allowed.

Works must be new and cannot be combined with other fests or events.

Beta readers are highly recommended. (If you need one they can be found on our Discord server, or you can email us for help)

Please fulfill your first prompt before claiming another.

No NSFW art/images of minors.

Do I have to claim someone else’s prompt?

No! Self-prompting is allowed if that’s what you want to do!

Do I have to send in a prompt to claim one?

No, you do not need to send in a prompt to claim one.

Are OCs (original characters) allowed?

Yes as long as at least one character is a Marauders Era character it is permitted to use OCs.

Are AUs (alternate universes) allowed?

Yes!

Are crossovers/characters from other universes allowed?

Can the main focus of my fic be two people in a relationship?

No, the focus needs to be on a polyamorous relationship.

Do I have to write M or E content?

No, any rating is welcome.

Is Dead Dove/dark content allowed?

Yes, as long as it’s appropriately tagged.

Can I co-author a fic with someone else?

Yes, co-authors are welcome!

Can I talk about my fic for this fest?

Yes! This fest is not anonymous so feel free to talk about it! Just make sure not to post your finished fic anywhere before reveals.

Can I cross post to other fests/events?

No, you cannot cross post to other fest or events.

Does my work need to be complete before the due date?

No, but there needs to be at least one chapter finished before the due date.

Announcing the 2024 HP Unspeakables Fest!

Welcome to the Unspeakables Fest! The goal of our fest is to promote the creation of fanworks that explore magical theory and the mysteries of the Harry Potter universe.

The fest is being hosted by HPFests Server on Discord.

The fest will be running between May 24, 2024 and September 21, 2024.

FEED MY FRANKENSTEIN 🧟

The Voldemort Brainrot server presents ‘Feed My Frankenstein’! The FMF Fest encourages and celebrates the good, the bad, and the ugly of monsters. The goal of this fest is to take a pairing and turn one — or both — characters into monsters — or if they are already so, explore canon further. One character must be a Death Eater, but the other is free to choose.

This is inclusive but not restricted to Tomarry, Tomione, Volmione, and Harrymort. Do whatever pairing you please, as long one is a Death Eater!

Although run directly by @screamingmandrakes and @riledheart, this fest is the group effort of the members of the Voldemort Brainrot Discord server. Due to the nature of the server, it is 18+ and the fest adheres to the same rules. The FMF fest is not directly a dead dove one, but it is encouraged :)

We're sure you're all as excited as we are about Drarry Disability Fest 2024, and prompting is now open!

Please be mindful of our prompting guidelines when submitting your prompts:

This is an 18+ fest.

Anyone can prompt, whether you’re planning on creating or not, and each person is allowed to submit a maximum of 10 prompts.

A person with a disability doesn’t need to be the main character, but they do need to be one of the primary characters. Along the same note, the disability(ies) don’t need to be the sole focus of the creation, but it does need to be an important part of the person's life.

No cure-all fics, please! If you choose to give your character a disability that can't be cured in real life, please don’t magically take them away in your fic; disabled people can have happily ever afters while still being disabled.

It’s fine to prompt disabled people or mentally ill people getting sick, however please don’t prompt sickfics in which an able person happens to be temporarily sick—they don’t count as a disabled person.

If you have previously written a fic centering the experiences of a disabled person in a Drarry-centric fic, feel free to recommend your work for podfic. However, your fic will still be subject to the screening we put to all prompts in this fest. Because of the nature of this fest in that it’s centered on stigmatized topics, the mods will screen prompts, (and self-prompts once claiming opens) to make sure these rules are followed.

If you are prompting someone else's fic for a podfic, please ensure permission is gained from the author before prompting.

It's That Time of Year Again...

Drarry Disability Fest 2024

Welcome Back to the 2ND YEAR of Drarry Disability Fest (2024)!

For those who don't know, Drarry Disability Fest is a fest dedicated to the accurate representation of disabilities, d/Deafness, medical conditions, and mental illness; Drarry Disability Fest is the first of it's kind. In this fest there will be no romanticism of disability (though romance will definitely be present elsewhere), instead we want our artists and writers to focus on accurate depiction - whether it be of the sad, mad, or glad times of disability and mental illness.

Our goal is to add diversity to the Drarry fic and fanart community, and we firmly believe that while disability and mental illness can be very difficult to handle, they do not mean that we're destined to a life of inaction and solitude; we are an empowered community.

All the mods for this fest are disabled/mentally ill to some extent, and have experience with a variety of additional disabilities to ensure that we have maximum ability to give feedback and filter prompts to the best of our ability.

We would also like to say that everyone's experience with mental illness and disability is different, so if you end up reading a depiction of your illness or disability that differs from your own, please accept that we do our best to filter the media in this fest so that it is safe for disabled readers, and remember that every different experience with a condition is valid.

This fest will not be anonymous, and we're posting to the fest AO3 Collection in July as that is Disability Pride Month. This year we are starting everything slightly earlier so that all you beautiful creators have more time to create, so follow our tumblr and join our discord sever to be sure you don't miss anything.

Anyone may prompt to this fest, even if you don't plan to create anything, however we will be filtering your prompt submissions on the AirTable to ensure they are sensitive to the disability/mental illness you are wishing to see depicted.

You don't need to be disabled to write about disabilities, but please do your research, ask questions from disabled sensitivity readers, and if you're ever unsure our wonderful mods Ceylon, Rowan, and Kel are happy to help. We have a wordcount minimum of ~1000 or equivalent. This means if you're not doing a written piece then put in the effort equivalent in your digital fanart, podfic, or other media. We do not accept videos at this time.

Beta readers/viewers are required for each submission. You can self prompt when claiming, and you can claim multiple prompts as long as you submit each work before claiming a new prompt.

The prompts :

- This is a prompt-based challenge. Every prompt you’ll receive consists of three different things; a winter prompt, a word you must use in your work, and an emotion. There are 10 winter prompts, 10 words and 10 emotions. Prompts will be decided by three rolls of the dice. To receive a prompt, you can send me a message here on Tumblr, or if you don’t have a Tumblr account you can send me an anon ask with your email (which I will not publish) and I will email you a prompt.

- Winter prompt : This round the winter part of your prompt consists of a photo and a connected winter-themed prompt. For example your photo may be a photo of a snowman, and the connected winter-themed prompt is ‘Snowball fight’. It’s up to you if you prefer to use the photo as inspiration, or the winter-themed prompt. Or perhaps you’d like to use both. Interpret the prompt as you wish, but make sure it’s in there in some way, shape or form.

- Word : The word must be used in your work. For example, if you word is ‘Rose’, you may use rose, roses, rosebud etc. But not prose, dextrose, morose etc.

- Emotion : Interpret the emotion as you wish, but make sure it is in your work in some way, shape or form.

Salt & Pepper Fest 2024: Prompting is open!

Salt & Pepper Fest 2024 is open for prompting on Dreamwidth. This is an anonymous Harry Potter prompt fest featuring HP characters over the age of 50, no matter if they are over 50 in canon or not. See here to get an idea of the character age requirements.

For works featuring a pairing, all parties of the pairing must be at least 50 years old. (So if you want to write Snarry for the fest, Harry must be at least 50 years old.)

This fest welcomes fic and art. Minimum word count is 1,000 words. For art, both hand drawn and digital are welcome. No photo manipulation or AI-generated works.

The fest will be hosted on Dreamwidth and AO3. Prompting ends on November 16.
