A large and messy rant about mha
the most frustrating part of mha and it's laughable ending it how horikoshi presented such an interesting and nuanced society and then.... took the most cop out basic shonen ending.
What initially made me like mha is how they showed how hero society failed people, aptly through the league of villains. Spinner had a mutant quirk that caused him to be the target of discrimination in more backwater settings. This was expanded upon with tentacole guy where he said in rural areas people will literally try to do ethnic cleansing.
Toga had a quirk that was deemed 'not normal' and underwent 'quirk counselling' which only suppressed her quirk and didn't solve anything. And yet at the end, a bunch of the UA heroes, uraraka, momo, tsuyu and iida are now doing a 'quirk counselling' expansion project??? The fuck is the 'quirk counselling' they're advocating for??
Twice was also a prime example of how hero society failed him. Heroes failed to save his parents, making him an orphan. Nobody helped him when he lost his job. He turned to a life of crime to survive not only with being homeless and living a life of poverty, but being lonely too. He literally had a mental illness resulting from the trauma of his quirk and barely got treatment for it.
Mha honestly suffers from exploring and adequately dealing with the psychology of its characters. To be honest, I'm not 100% surprised because the author is some obvious sexist who really is there for the action and the shonen, which is a real danger shame. I think it would have been so interesting to end on a note of despair because the ending only proved Stain's message - there are only fake heroes.
You're telling me that Bakugo, who only cared about being a winner, became a hero? He is literally the epitome of a guy who should NOT be a hero! He doesn't give a fuck about saving lives and being compassionate unless it would boost his ratings and make him the top hero. I'm literally still not convinced of his redemption because even though he apologised to Deku he still is what is wrong with hero society - people who are born with strong quirks and just want to he a hero to fuel their ego.
Also....what the fuck was the point of the Todoroki family. I'm still mad Rei didn't just divorce Enji and he kind of got a cop out ending 'ill just atone for the rest of my life' my man you need to go to JAIL
What the fuck is the point of having a society where heroes have too much time on their hands? We literally just saw what that was like at the beginning of the series and how much damage it did to people who didn't fit the mould.
Tldr this ending was shit bc I just don't understand how such an interesting world and society just falls back on shitty shonen tropes

Y’all self diagnosing as low support autistic, you are valid. But let’s not pretend like high support need individuals don’t exist. Autism isn’t trendy, it isn’t “quirky”, it’s not a brag to be put on your profile to say “I think I might be autistic” for clout on the internet. Autism comes in many forms, and high support individuals probably don’t see their autism as a brag. Being nonspeaking, having a lack of control over your own motor function, needing assistance in most every aspect of your life, being stripped of your independence because otherwise you may be unsafe to yourself or others, being looked down upon by a society who views you as “retarded”….low support autism is valid and deserving of the same supports as high support autism, but to those of you that romanticize autism, whether you are autistic or not, please stop. Autistic individuals are beautiful, amazing, and so worthy of love no matter where they fall on the spectrum. But autistic individuals will always face challenges because of their neurodivergence by a society that as a majority is uneducated and lacking empathy. If you suspect you may be autistic, please pursue your truth. Maybe you became good at masking without knowing you were doing it, maybe you are “quirky”, etc. Be true to yourself.
However…
Romanticizing autism ignores the reality of the many many high support individuals who do not have that luxury. Love yourself but do not trivialize or erase the reality of our high support brothers and sisters.
#autism#high support autism#low support autism#ableism#special education#neurodiversity#neurodivergent#oml thank you#so many people romanticise low support autism

All these questions are exactly why I was a bit disappointed with tbb. Like we have so many questions that the series was poised to explore, reveal and resolve. So much unresolved and unseen clone lore in a literal clone show.
Nala Se, Emerie and Omega book when?
I think we can agree that we desperately need a book about the early days of Sifo-Dyas's order of clones from Kamino, right?
Especially through the eyes of Nala Se, Jango Fett, and others?
Because I have SO MANY QUESTIONS.
What was Nala Se's experiment in season 1? Lama Su references a contingency of a new clone line, but he already knows Tarkin and Rampart were unimpressed by CF99. He only wants Omega back for her genetic material.
You might think it was about cloning FS people, but given that Nala Se knows what Palpatine wants, and Hemlock, Lama Su could have and should have [in his worldview] given Omega up to Dr. Hemlock as what Palpatine was looking for. He never does, and we know he doesn't care about Omega. Which leads one to conclude he didn't know Omega could be used for FS cloning.
What was the reason Emerie was created? She's an accelerated clone, but not downloaded with fighting programs like the male clones. She's a medical researcher. Why was she sent away? For who? Nala Se could have kept her if she need an assistant.
How did Emerie come into Dr. Hemlock's hands? Why does she have a surname?
Why was Omega created. We if we assume that Nala Se made Omega for personal or experimental reasons, than it raises the question of how she knew the girl had the blood that could bind Midichlorians. The only way Nala Se would know this is if she tested for it.
Which means Nala Se was creating exactly what Palpatine was looking for, found it, kept her mouth SHUT about it. But WHYYYY???
Did Sifo-Dyas, or Lord Tyrannus [who they believed to be a Jedi] make this request? Was Sifo-Dyas under the impression the Republic needed a FS army? Did Nala Se keep Omega underwraps when Tyrannus took over? The Kaminoans didn't know Sifo-Dyas had died at all when Kenobi showed up.
Not a question, I just want to read about when Nala Se made Omega's little brothers and see how happy it made her.
When the war began, where did Omega stay? I take it she was in the sublevel labs, but who looked after her when Nala Se had to leave? Just droids. I don't think Nala Se was gone in the earliest days and Omega's development would have been beyond fucked up without being held and having connection daily. But when the war began, she had to have left that under 10 year old kid by herself often.
More of an observation: Omega stayed hidden in Nala Se's lab for "most of her life". It is obviously not her entire life because when we meet in her in episode 1, she is out and about on Kamino. What changed? Did Nala Se fear the Jedi on Kamino would discover Omega's truth? Take her away?
And what is a "lab scrabber"?
#yes im still bitter we didnt get a proper emerie karr backstory#but why did they literally not expand on clone lore in a clone show#its so frustrating#tbb#the bad batch#emerie karr

To be fair, it's implied the gods CHOOSE their forms. I pretty sure in Hades 1, Demeter calls out Aphrodite and says there's a reason why Aphrodite chooses to present herself that way (young and beautiful), and a reason Demeter has chosen her current appearance.
So Hera is just choosing to look like a 30ish year old I guess?
loving all the new content from Hades 2 Early Access so far: music's great, characters are charming, art is gorgeous, etc
but there is one criticism I have... as much as I like the rest of her design, Hera just looks too young, like literally younger than Persephone
hell, her sons look older than she does
I know this is just early access, and any character design could be subject to change in the future, but it's just an odd choice to say the least

Right wing men will come out and explicitly admit they find it funny when women are punched by random men, and that we all deserve it because some of us vote Democrat, and trad women like Ashley will still try to reason with them.
This is what you get when you beg for breadcrumbs of humanity from those who hate you. These men are so upfront about the monsters that they are it isn’t funny any more.

I honestly think because bad batch in general is quite rushed. They skip over pivotal moments like how did omega break it to crosshair that tech died? How did they break the news to Phee?
This season also feels a bit repetitive because it starts off with Omega breaking free from tantiss...and she's going to do it again.
Emerie' s development is good, but it does feel rushed and I am feeling less of an impact from her story. We also just have crumbs about how she came to be...why?
Next episode is going to be the last, and honestly it kind of feels sucky! Like what about Wolffe, Cody, Rex? No senate episodes to wrap up how the clones will he treated in legislation?? (That we know of)
I just wish the bad batch had more seasons and episodes tbh, to flesh out the world a bit more.
the bad batch s3 started so promising but they've really fumbled these last couple of episodes.
