Wild that it took Arab countries joining a UN conference to finally get an official condemnation of October 7th in writing. Meanwhile the UN General Assembly - after nearly two years - still hasn't managed to condemn a terrorist attack that killed over 1,200 people.
The same body that passes dozens of resolutions about Israel annually somehow can't find the words to condemn Hamas's attacks. Even Saudi Arabia and Egypt have now explicitly called it out.
Make it make sense.

Have you noticed you can just spread rumors that a group of Jews who were assaulted were chanting gross anti Palestine stuff with no evidence and suddenly everyone thinks the Jews deserved it.

In Deir al-Balah, Gaza, Hamas thugs armed and masked are caught on video stealing a truck full of food aid. Just another day in Gaza. Remember this the next time the UN claims they "can't tell if Hamas is hijacking the aid or not"

All for the sake of what, likes? attention? Is there not enough going on in Gaza that you need to abuse your child just to manipulate your audience?

Saw a video on Twitter in which a woman claimed that Modern Hebrew can’t be a Semitic language because it doesn’t sound like Arabic. Talk about cultural imperialism, defining a language’s degree of “Semitism” based on proximity to one of many languages in the family!
She argued that Modern Hebrew was a fake non-Semitic language invented exclusively by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda (she called him “Perlman”). This is simply wrong: Ben-Yehuda certainly was a major figure in Hebrew’s modernization in the 19th Century, but the process was in fact organic. She referred to Hebrew before Ben-Yehuda as not being a spoken language. This is comically wrong. Hebrew has been spoken by Jewish populations around the world for over 3,000 years. The geographic distance of these populations and their local influences resulted in differences in pronunciation, but that is the case for every language on earth, Arab far more so than Hebrew ever was.
In addition to being a liturgical language, Hebrew was a language of poetry and letters. It was how Jewish communities communicated with one another when their primary, diasporic languages differed. By the 18th Century, secular plays were being written in Hebrew, meaning that well before Ben-Yehuda, there were secular actors and audiences with spoken Hebrew proficiency.
Ben-Yehuda was part of this process. He didn’t single-handedly give Hebrew new sounds. He was one of many who argued over which traditional pronunciations would most befit east adoption and mass intelligibility. Due to the simplicity of vowel sounds, Sefardic was chosen as the basis. Ben-Yehuda was also involved in identifying words for new concepts. He preferred loanwords from Arabic, others sought purely Hebraic antecedents. The agvaniya/badura battle over “tomato” is a famous example, and one Ben-Yehuda lost.
One thing Modern Hebrew did not do is fundamentally change the language. The vocabulary is largely rabbinical, the grammar Mishnaic but a little more analytic and less synthetic, again for ease of adoption. The woman in the video believed this meant it was no longer Semitic. This is odd, because a Hebrew-speaker can more easily read the 2,500-year-old Torah than can an English-speaker digest 400-year-old Shakespeare. Does this mean English is a fake language? Does that fact that English no longer sounds as it did in Elizabethan times mean we no longer speak English? After all, the video woman said that modern Hebrew sounding different from reconstructions of ancient Hebrew makes them different languages. Does the fact that English (or Dutch or Danish) doesn’t sound like modern Hochdeutsch mean English isn’t a Germanic language?
The woman postulated that Hebrew speakers can’t be Semites because Modern Hebrew lacks an Arabic ayn or ḥa, even though her straight-haired WASPy ass (or lack of ass) could. The fact is, there are Modern Hebrew accents that do use Arabic-fashion ayn and ḥa, mostly those of Mizrahi Israelis who were or whose families were expelled from the Arab world. Those who don’t use different pronunciation do so not because they physically, as “non-Semites”, can’t, but because their Hebrew accent doesn’t use those sounds.
But what about Arabic? Canaanite, the Semitic sub-family of which Hebrew is the only surviving member, used gim/gimel. By the woman’s logic, this means Arabic can’t be a Semitic language, because so many speakers pronounce that character jim! And what of Arabic dialects that use gaf instead of qaf? Are they not really Arabic, and thus are Arabs not “real Semites”? And how are we to assume that Arabic(s) hasn’t/haven’t evolved over the past 2,500 or 1,800 or 1,400 years, as though Nabatean and Palmyran and Muhammad himself all spoke the same as one another?
Obviously this is all bonkers bullshit. But it’s par for the course in a discourse meant to delegitimize not only Israel and Zionism, but Jewish language and identity overall. How do people think this will bring peace? Instead it will only convince Jews that anti-Zionism is only the first step in eroding our sense of peoplehood, our distinctiveness, and ultimately our existence.
Anti-Zionists have done a great job convincing me of all that, to be sure.

Was reading a piece about how calling out antisemitism can get twisted into being “against free speech.” You know the type: if you say something’s antisemitic, suddenly you’re the problem.
"Even naming it—that is, calling out bigotry against Jews—can be classed as yet another sign of assumed evil intent, of Jews attacking beloved principles of justice for all. In an April 2023 lecture, David Nirenberg, the historian, presented the example of an activist with a large following whose boundary-pushing rhetoric met with accusations of anti-Semitism. The activist pointed out, as Nirenberg put it, that anti-Semitism 'was merely an accusation that Jews used to silence criticism and squash free speech.' He brought libel lawsuits against newspapers that accused him of anti-Semitism, and won them. It is unfortunate for those making this argument today that this activist was named Adolf Hitler.”

why jewish identity is a moving target
saw a post about someone's jewish grandma saying "i wasn't considered white at your age" and it really explains how antisemitism works imo
jews are historically whatever allows us to be blamed for whatever society hates
think about it:
when being white meant access to jobs/housing/rights, we were "not white"
now that some people see whiteness as bad, suddenly we're "white"
meanwhile white supremacists still say we're not white
it's the same pattern everywhere:
to communist societies: "jews are greedy capitalists"
to capitalist societies: "jews are communists"
when we keep to ourselves: "jews are separatists"
when we participate in society: "jews are infiltrators"
the categories change but the targeting stays the same. that's why grandma wasn't "white" in the 1950s while her granddaughter gets called "white" today.
we've dealt with this pattern for thousands of years. empires change, political systems change, but somehow jews are always the convenient explanation for what's wrong.
but we're still here. we're older than most civilizations and we're still celebrating, still adapting, still thriving.

The fact that even xfiles recognizes that people use zionist as a dogwhistle for jews yet people nowadays don't is wild.
Season 4 episode 15 Kaddish - a racist right wing white supremist accuses mulder and scully of being jewish because they're looking into a case where a Jewish man was killed by neo nazis. Then when mulder and scully say they work for the FBI, the dude claims the fbi and the US government are working for the jews.
"That's right. You call me paranoid 'cause that's exactly what (((they))) want you to do. But there is one thing you can't call me, and that is a zionist collaborator."
That episode aired in 1997...
This is literally more proof that for decades, zionist has been used as a dog whistle for jews. Yet people still use it in the same way and expect to not be called out on it.
Yes, when using zionist to mean the political belief, it is not a dog whistle.
But some of yall leftists are using the exact same language, down to the fucking punctuation, as neo nazis and white supremists from the 90's and 2000's and act as if you're not being antisemitic.
You can criticize the Israeli government without whipping out the same words neo nazis use.

Accurate AF. I recall people saying Gretha Thunberg was "brave" for sailing to Gaza. Well, no. There's nothing brave about shouting you're going to do something risky (entering Gaza) knowing you'll be stopped. It's like a kid saying "hold me so I won't fight this guy" right next to the cops.
If she was brave, she wouldn't have worked so hard to be stopped.
“These celebrities are so brave because they’re putting their careers at risk by supporting Palestine 🥺”
Meanwhile in the real world NOTHING has happened to Dua Lipa, the Hadids, Hunter Schafer, Jenna Ortega, Billie Eilish, Nicola Coughlan, Joe Alwyn, Macklemore, Mark Ruffalo, Pedro Pascal etc.
They’re still getting jobs, happily attending fashion shows, smiling on the red carpets, no one is avoiding them like the plague etc.
Do you know who actually is suffering because they chose to do the right thing? Pro Israelis!
Gal Gadot is getting harassed and bullied
Debra Messing was told no one would support her campaigns to help Israeli women post October 7 because there’s “not enough proof”
Both Noah Schnapp and Julianna Margulies were forced to apologise
On the same carpets celebrities were donning on the ceasefire pins, Zionists were told it’s “political” to wear a yellow ribbon
Shira Haas’ entire character was rewritten because simply existing as an Israeli is “offensive”
Various celebrities became outcasts in Hollywood because of their Israel posts.
The Artists4Ceasefire petition is still up, the letter for the Hostages on the other hand has been taken down and my guess is because various signatories don’t want to be seen as someone who care about Jewish lives anymore
Celebrities who were active at the beginning have more or less shut up or simply changed tune, now saying “all lives matter”. Meanwhile Bella Hadid never changed her stance, why? Because despite her victim complex she was never actually under any threat by supporting Palestine the way Amy Schumer was for supporting Israel!

1,500 Syrian Alawites Massacred in Three Days - Where Is the Global Outrage?
A Reuters investigation just revealed one of the most horrific massacres you probably haven't heard about. From March 7-9, 2025, Syrian government forces and allied militias systematically slaughtered 1,479 Alawite civilians across 40 different sites along Syria's Mediterranean coast.
FYI the following text is not for the faint of heart.
Suleiman Rashid Saad, 25 years old. His heart was literally cut from his chest and placed on top of his body. The killers called his father from Suleiman's own phone and taunted him to come collect the corpse. His name was number 56 on a handwritten list of 60 dead from just one village.
This wasn't random violence. This was systematic revenge killing carried out by at least a dozen different factions - including units directly under Syria's new government led by Ahmed al-Sharaa (formerly of al-Qaeda's Syria branch). These are forces that the U.S., Germany, and France are currently lifting sanctions on and engaging diplomatically.
Now here's what's making me absolutely furious:
Where are the campus protests? Where are the celebrity Instagram stories? Where are the UN emergency sessions? Where are the mass demonstrations in London, Paris, Berlin, New York?
We're talking about government-sanctioned ethnic cleansing happening RIGHT NOW. Heart mutilation. Children on kill lists. Mass executions. Looting. Sexual violence. All documented by Reuters with names, locations, and evidence.
Yet somehow this doesn't trend on social media. No hashtags. No viral TikToks. No politicians making passionate speeches about civilian protection.
The deafening silence is the point.
Whenever the topic is about Palestinians, the world stops. Universities get occupied. Streets get flooded with protesters. Every politician from Portland to Paris issues statements. The International Criminal Court starts investigations within days.
But when it's Syria's new Western-backed government massacring religious minorities? Nothing. Cricket sounds.
This isn't about caring less because they're Muslim - it's about the uncomfortable truth that our selective outrage reveals our selective humanity. Some civilian deaths apparently matter more than others based on who's doing the killing and whether it fits our geopolitical narratives.
The Alawites weren't just "caught in crossfire." They were systematically hunted down because of their religious identity and association with the former Assad regime. Their killers are now wearing Syrian government uniforms and receiving international legitimacy.
I'm sharing this because consistency matters. If we're going to claim we care about civilian protection, war crimes, and ethnic cleansing, then we need to care about ALL of it. Not just when it's politically convenient or fits our preferred narratives.
The families in those 40 Syrian villages deserve the same global attention, the same moral outrage, the same demands for justice as any other civilian population under attack.
Their silence shouldn't be met with our silence.
Share this. Make noise. Demand accountability. Because if we only speak up for some victims and ignore others, we're not actually standing for human rights - we're just performing them.

The Anti-Israel Playbook Is Literally Soviet Propaganda (And some Q&A so you'll be prepared for it)
I need to talk about something that's been keeping me up at night. That "anti-Zionist" rhetoric flooding your feeds? The stuff about Israel being a "settler-colonial apartheid state"? The comparisons to Nazi Germany?
It's literally copy-pasted from 1960s Soviet propaganda. Word. For. Word.
In 1967, the Soviets hosted a massive anti-Israel conference in New Delhi with 150 delegates from 55 countries. They rolled out every single talking point we're hearing today: Israel as "imperialist," comparisons to Nazi "blitzkrieg," calling Palestinian terrorism "righteous resistance." Sound familiar?
Here's the kicker - the Communist Party USA published these speeches in full. The same language spread through Soviet-funded publications across Africa, Latin America, and Europe. By the 1970s, this wasn't fringe thinking anymore - it was mainstream leftist orthodoxy.
The people pushing this stuff today? Many literally grew up in Soviet-sponsored "anti-imperialist" circles. Angela Davis met Arafat at a 1973 Soviet youth festival. Stokely Carmichael developed his anti-Zionist views through Castro's Cuba. Even some of today's politicians have direct family ties to this network.
The USSR is gone, but the zombie ideas live on. Every time someone calls Israel "genocidal" or compares it to apartheid South Africa, they're recycling propaganda designed by the KGB to destroy American influence in the Middle East.
The most disturbing part? Liberal America never bothered to debunk this stuff after winning the Cold War. We defeated the Soviet Union but let their antisemitic propaganda colonize our universities and activist spaces.
It's time to wake up. These aren't grassroots progressive values - they're the manufactured talking points of a totalitarian regime that murdered millions.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: How do I recognize Holocaust inversion? A: Watch for language that portrays Jews/Israelis as the "new Nazis" - calling Israeli actions "genocide," "blitzkrieg," or comparing Gaza to concentration camps. This flips victim and perpetrator, making the historically persecuted group into the oppressor.
Q: How do I respond effectively to antisemitism disguised as anti-Israel statements? A: Ask where their information comes from. Point out that their talking points match Soviet propaganda from the 1960s-70s. Highlight the historical context - why these specific comparisons (apartheid, Nazism) were chosen by Moscow to delegitimize Israel. Don't let them hide behind "just criticizing policy" when they're using dehumanizing language with a documented history of antisemitic origins.
Q: What are the red flags that someone is using Soviet-derived anti-Zionist talking points? A: The buzzword trifecta: "settler-colonial," "apartheid," and "imperialist puppet." Also watch for conspiracy theories about "Zionist influence" in media/politics, claims that Zionism is "racism," and the phrase "by any means necessary" to justify terrorism. These weren't random - they were focus-grouped by Soviet propagandists.
Q: Why do progressive spaces fall for this so easily? A: Because the Soviets were brilliant at packaging antisemitism as anti-racism. They took real progressive concerns (civil rights, anti-colonialism) and weaponized them against Jews. It sounds like social justice language, which is exactly the point. That's why smart, well-meaning people get sucked in.
Q: How do I explain this to someone who thinks I'm just "crying antisemitism"? A: Show them the receipts. The 1967 New Delhi conference documents are public. Soviet publications from the 1970s are archived. Point out that these exact phrases appeared in KGB materials decades before social media existed. Ask them why their "grassroots movement" uses identical language to Cold War propaganda.
Q: What about people who say "anti-Zionism isn't antisemitism"? A: Ask them why embracing anti-Zionism made your friend remove his Star of David necklace. If it's really just political criticism, why does it create shame about Jewish identity? The Soviets specifically designed anti-Zionism to be a "respectable" way to attack Jews - that was the whole point.
Q: How do I protect Jewish friends/family from this propaganda? A: Help them understand they're not crazy for feeling targeted. Validate that what they're experiencing IS a form of antisemitism, even if it doesn't look like historical antisemitism. Share this information so they can see the bigger picture. Sometimes knowing you're dealing with manufactured propaganda, not genuine moral outrage, makes it easier to cope with.
