Chapter 5: The Softer the Skin the Sharper the Teeth

I laid my head on his chest, arm wrapped around his waist, and breathed in the subtle woodsy smell of his cologne. The silk on his shirt was soft against my cheek and I did my best not to stain it with more tears. It was the first time I had agreed to get on a plane with Kun and go to China, but I I needed to get away. I wouldn’t have to think about hunters or how strange it was that that Lucas guy was one. Why would a wolf be a hunter? Though he wasn’t exactly a wolf like me. He was scarier and much more powerful. Accala seemed to know him too but she hadn’t said anything about it. Since I took over during my time with Jae and Johnny she had been rather quiet. It had been days since I last heard her. It was strange to feel worried since I wanted her out of my body but it was good to have complete time to myself and Kun.

I played with the simple silver chain that hung across the top of his chest and thought about Riott. I missed her already. She had made a habit of laying close to me and giving me kisses, seeming to understand my depression and attempting to make me feel better. She was so sweet, small, and what I called home. The only favor I asked of Jaehyun was if he could stop by the motel and take care of her while I was gone. I wouldn’t be able to be in communication with him much once I was overseas but I trusted that Riott was in good hands. 

I sighed softly as Kun ran his hands through my hair and kissed my forehead delicately. We had been on the flight for hours now and I still felt so exhausted. It was incredible how large his private jet was. There was a bar, several leather seats, a lounge bed, a small area for food and coffee, and a bathroom that was significantly larger than any plane bathroom I had ever been in before. It was so extravagant. 

The area we were in was closed off by a thick burgundy curtain giving us privacy from the small crew on board with us. I had denied most of Kuns offerings for food and drinks as I preferred for him to hold me tight instead. I just wanted to be with someone who wasn’t mad at me and would give me peace of mind. Though I was still highly distracted by his beauty, as soon as I saw him I regretted looking like a bum in my sweatpants, hoodie, and barely brushed hair. He was ever the fashionista in his expensive tailored suit, this one a light mocha with a dark button up beneath and a sharp leather belt around the waist. His loafers were shined to perfection, the silver buckle glinting in the dimmed phosphorescent light of the cabin. Sometimes I hated that he was the epitome of a model while I was a schmuck but perhaps that was just me being hard on myself in my state of mind.

“How are you feeling?” He asked.

I looked up at him and sat up. “I feel a little better now that I’m with you. I miss Riott though.”

Hello, this is Chen.

I had something to say to my fans, that is how I came to write this letter. 

I am unsure how to start this, so I am very nervous and anxious. But I want to be honest first to my fans, who have given me so much love, so I am uploading this letter, as lacking as it may be. 

I have a girlfriend, with whom I want to spend the entirety of my life with. There were many worries about what kind of situation may come of this at first, but so that my members, company, and the fans who have shown pride in me would not be shocked by sudden news, I was communicating with the company discussing with my members because I wanted to deliver the news just a little sooner. 

During that time, a blessing came to find us. A situation where discussing our plans with the company and members became necessary/unavoidable arose. I was very taken aback, but I was able to gain strength through this blessing. 

I was worrying about when and how to deliver this news, but I carefully mustered up the courage so that I would not delay it any longer. 

My sincere gratitude to my members, who gave me their sincere congratulations after hearing the news. And to all the fans who gave me, who is lacking, so much love, I give you my deep gratitude.

I broke away from Jaehyun, licking his lips one more time and smirking. His lips were slightly puffed and swollen from the bites I loved to dig into him. “Why are you so fuckin’ cute?” I chuckled.

Jae pushed back his hair and sighed. “What can I say, it’s a natural gift.”

I shoved him playfully then remembered that Tala had been standing behind me. I turned around quickly and realized that she wasn’t there. “Oh shit. Where did Tala go?”

“Your friend? I’m not sure.” Jae swiped his thumb across his lip, cleaning up the remnants of our mess. “Maybe the bathroom?”

“She would have at least told me.”

“No offense babe but uh…i wouldn’t feel too great breaking up a make out sesh to tell you I was going to the bathroom.”

I sighed and fished my phone out from the back pocket of my jeans. There hadn’t been any texts from her either. “I’m gonna take a look around for her. Can you stay here so I don’t lose you too?”

I left Jae at the bar and looked above most everyone’s head. It was still hard to tell where she could be. Usually I’d be able to spot her curls but with many people wearing wigs with their costumes it was increasingly difficult. Panic started to knot within my stomach. I immediately thought of hunters. BREAKING: Lineup for a new NCT unit has finally been announced! Going by the name NCT RW, this unit — comprised of only three members — will be the fifth subunit to come from NCT (others including NCT 127, NCT U, NCT DREAM, and WAYV). The members are Chicago-born Johnny Seo, Nakamoto Yuta from Japan, and Korea native Kim Doyoung. When asked in a recent interview what NCT RW stands for, the charasmatic Johnny spoke up and said, “RW stands for Respect Women. We think it’s important that our female fans know that we love and support them and whatever they choose to do.”

NCT RW is set to debut in March of 2020 (a subtle nod at feminism seeing as March is Women’s Month). We’re looking forward to what they put out!

I pulled her close to me, burying my face in her hair that still smelled of dirt and woods. It wasn’t super pleasant but still oddly comforting. By then I was already heading south towards her chest and stomach, circling my thumb over her hip. “Hmm? Morning…” she yawned again. Suddenly she sat up and scooted away from me. “JOHNNY!!”

“What? I wanted to wake you up and put you in a good mood.”

She fled from the bed and brought a pillow along to cover herself with. “What do you mean ‘a good mood’?! Why am i in your bed?!”
