The Newgen Angel twins constantly getting any potential for a cool/badass moment absolutely blocked by the plot or their ghost-hunting shifts ending is MAD fucking funny xcghnjhgfdvfbgvnh GOD they're such perfect additions to the cast, and while her appearance was brief (ahaha I'm so funny) I was happy to see Gunsmith Bitch again! Her design is too good to pass up, very pretty

I didn't care much for last week's episodes, but I tend to not be much a fan of the more experimental episodes generally speaking anyway. They're not bad it's just that the "Ooh look here's an entire 5-11 minute episode replicating a specific western animation era's style, but absolutely nothing of significance happens so congrats on wasting your time" gimmick gets very old very quickly, they're honestly kinda mid :'D And also the musical rip-off episode was also mid too, if I knew what was in these ones ahead of time I would've skipped them tbh

Also I wasn't expecting to leave today's episodes desperately yearning to draw Panty & Kneesocks dancing together in their little prom dresses but here we are??? Never say never when it comes to a ship you don't expect to port lol, BUT ALSO LIKE COME ON DID YOU SEE THEM???? THEY LOOK SO ADORABLE I SIMPLY CANNOT, I HAVE TO DRAW THEM BEING SILLY TOGETHER

Feferi 100% convinced Sollux to do this and let him borrow her clothes, but I like to think he locked tf in on the acting in his part of the video. Big fan of the twin sign shenanigans here hahaha. Also the bathrobe is based on one I'd had when I was younger, and the lantern he's holding is meant to be a faux lantern -- it's actually a portable nightlight that looks like a lantern lol.

This was very much an experimental piece as far as the environment/background design cause I'm not super great with backgrounds and certain shading techniques just yet (Spent at least an hour figuring out the water pattern and metal shading on the handrail)

(Also yes I did trace the squiddles pattern on the bath robe from canon cause it would've looked like shit otherwise)

Me desperately yapping to anyone who will lend me an ear right now about how Gamzee Makara is the embodiment and a representation of what's INTENDED to be a well-planned "character becomes morally bankrupt in order to maintain their self-fulfilling prophecy and technically still achieve the goal they had from the beginning of their story" (like Eren Jaeger from AOT), but is very clearly a character that suffered from character assassination at the hands of his creator because they either hated him and/or his fan base, so they were destroyed as a means to spite the audience (like Chloe Bourgeois from MLB), and grew to become essentially a flanderized caricature of himself to a point where he's straight up not even the same character in the later part of the series because of poor writing/writing changes/generalizations (like G4 Pinkie Pie):

Once I finish HS in its entirety (nearing Act VI now but I also hella spoiled myself re:Gamzee to cope with the loss of such a genuinely fun and interesting character for the sake of a spiteful "gag" at fans that not only isn't even funny, but also is taken so extreme that it cannot be brushed off as a "gag" anymore -- I just wanted to prepare myself for disappointment), I'm going back and evidence-gathering for the other characters I mentioned and I'm at the VERY LEAST gonna elaborate on this in a big fat blog post because if you've watched/read all the media I'm referring to, you KNOW I'm cooking here

Pushing this to post a day early cause I felt like it, I'm officially 100% Homestuck pilled rn hffghjghfdsfghgfdcdfgbhn, binged through the first 4 Acts as fast as I could to get to all these clowns again (Not that the human side of the story isn't interesting, I just viscerally missed these guys and it was taking forever to get to them)

I forgot how weird Equius is and for some god forsaken reason him being so cringey and weird made me love him more??? Like why he doin all that rftyhujhfghnj he's so fucking cringe but he's also a little idiot kid so taking it with a grain of salt -- also ik accessory swaps are soooooo typical for ship art but I couldn't help myself, I just really wanted an excuse to draw Nepeta with his broken ass shades and Equius without them again, I am of the opinion that Nepeta gets her way and convinces Equius to lighten up a lot more than most would think, what with them being the most "perfect" example of a healthy pair of moirails in canon

More Gamkat, I promise Gamzee isn't indoctrinating Karkat into his cult they're just being silly (I refuse to acknowledge canon DO NOT REMIND ME OKAY, I have too many thoughts on that sore subject for what's supposed to be a fun/silly post), consider it moirailegience shenanigans where Gamzee's goofiness balances out Karkat's hyper-seriousness. Drawing Gamzee without the juggalo makeup on was lowkey feeling cursed I'm ngl, he looks so different without it, but also all things considered he looks like he's healing??? I lowkey want a fic or something where he heals from all the neglect and bottled-up rage he'd developed over time and escapes his death cult while still partaking in some form of clownery, sorta like how some ex-religious people still partake in their former religion's holidays/traditions in some form (also just having everyone else shocked to see him without makeup on for the first time would be a fun scenario), AND BONUS POINTS IF KARKAT ACTUALLY LISTENS TO GAMZEE AND TAKES AN INTEREST IN HELPING HIM HEAL THROUGH CONTAINED INDULGENCES IN THE MORE "SILLY/STUPID" THINGS LIKE THE MAKEUP AND THE DANCES AND SHIT WHILE GAMZEE HELPS KARKAT NAVIGATE THE LEADER THING AND HIS OWN SELF-LOATHING OKAY, idgaf how OOC or canon-divergent it is, canon diverged from itself all the time just to troll its fanbase on several documented occasions so most anything is on the table for me with all these characters

Also how could I draw all my favorite troll ships and NOT include Fef and her boys like rftgyhgfdfghbgfdfgbh?!?!?! Feferi/Sollux and Nepeta/Equius were my OG OTPs back in ye olde 2014-2015, but also Eridan forcing himself into being a major third wheel for the former is such a funny fucking concept to me, he's the Donkey to their Shrek and Fiona literally LMAO

Semi-related but are we in agreement that Sollux and Eridan are kismeses without having Feferi be a mediator and it turning into an auspistice situation??? Cause I NEED to see Eridan tweaking tf out (as usual, bro's always tweaking over SOMETHING), and once he has enough of the bullshit Sollux is just like "oh my godddddddd iidiiot you really wanna kii22 me 2o bad iit make2 you look 2tupiid" and Eridan's just like "OH YEAH? WWANNA FUCKIN BET FINLESS???" And then they hate-make out in front of everyone, and the reactions vary from Nepeta excitedly noting it in her shipping chart, to Feferi being too stunned to speak, to Vriska being jealous that she doesn't have a mutual kismesis in Tavros like she wants (I may or may not draw this idea at some point later on)

Originally I was gonna go back and fix some errors like the finger count on the hands but decided that I'm most likely not coming back to this one, so here it is as I made it

Back in late May, I'd gotten myself re-obsessed with Undertale (and, by proxy, Underfell) in order to avoid Deltarune spoilers (which actually worked out incredibly well lol), and when I was looking into Underfell beyond like very common AU knowledge, I'd found out Fell!Sans runs a chimichanga stand instead of a hot dog stand, thus this shitpost animatic was born -- took me ~3 weeks to finish in between all the other stuff I was doing back in June, and only just decided to come back and post it cause it's still funny af to me

I like to think in the UF universe that Undyne and Papyrus would strategize together at one another's houses, and whenever it happens to be at the skelebros' house, Sans is juuuuust enough of a pain in the ass that it doesn't actually affect the planning session, he just mildly annoys/amuses Undyne and aggressively irritates Papyrus (but so is the way of us loser older siblings eyyyyyyyyyyy)

I'm not the biggest fan of Undyne's design in the AU (cause like where's the armor y'know lol), so I opted to just design my own version of her

Also, in case you're curious, here's a comprehensive list of the little toys/figurines and which represents which character:

Undyne is one of those little fish figures from those electronic fishing board games

Papyrus is a black stress ball with a skull print

Doggo is the Monopoly-style dog figurine

Annoying Dog, Dogamy and Dogaressa are all represented by three different Littlest Pet Shop dogs (This resulted in my headcanon that Papyrus owns an LPS toy collection lol)

Sans uses a chess bishop to represent himself, alluding to his role in the game as a judge of the player's morality, and has a Lego kiosk/stand

I've seen their debut episode three times already, and showing them and their theme song to my brother convinced him to watch the show with me, so I'll be watching it a fourth time soon enough HEHEHEHE

Normally I'd add this to my queue but Wednesdays mean New P&S episodes and this is my way of manifesting that they'll function ala the Demon Sisters in S1, making them recurring rivals/antagonists to our leads

Also this is just general yap banter but oh my fucking GOD dude, S2 is such a step above S1 in like every way besides the dub being a little more mid (And that's not on the new VAs, some are extremely good in other series, it's more on the voice DIRECTION and the script being more 1:1 because those anime translation purists are lame incel losers that get triggered over shit like the "bitches, bros and nonbinary hoes" ad-libs in the SK8 dub and bitch about it to the dubbing companies and VAs >:( )

That being said, I've watched these twins' debut scene in both dub & sub, as well as some extra commentary from the dub VAs, and can confirm most of the AAVE/Gen Z speak was ad-libbed by the VAs (Both of whom are apparently nonbinary which is hella fucking cool and explains why they were made to sound so zesty rfedrftghjgfd) and felt like a personal call-out of me when I first watched it LMAO :'D For the first couple days after it released I was so insecure about how I sounded sdftgjhhrfedrftgyh

This was partly a style study technically speaking, but if anything I just really wanted to draw them and see how close to the show style I could get without hardcore studying the style to "perfection" or whatever, also I can assure y'all this won't be the last of me drawing these dinguses (and the other characters will be drawn in time haha)

Random Felltarune/Defernull headcanon based on that HC that when/if Sans enters the Dark World in Deltarune, the only change to his design is that his jacket changes from blue to red, and everyone joking that he turns into Fell!Sans in the dark world dfgghgfedfghjnf

Made him look younger cause Classic Sans enters the UT world after leaving the DR world (allegedly lol), gave him a lighter hoodie as opposed to the fluffy coat cause the climate is different and he has both pupils because this would be pre-UF!Asgore trauma that causes the constant one eye glow or whatever lol

Decided to make a shitpost animatic at the last moment before Episode 6 releases tomorrow LMAO!

This was completely improvised based on a running gag in a call I had with a friend after the trailer dropped lol! This was completed from start-to-finish in roughly 10 hours. I finished it earlier this morning but wanted to schedule it to post later in the day

I think I'm starting to like making shitpost animatics, I used to be so intimidated by the idea of making them...But this was a lotta fun! And the drawing part actually took significantly less time than I thought it would

Also ik it's at the end of the video but give me some grace for the voices fdghgfdswdefrgt I'd rather it be me trying to imitate the characters as best I can rather than use some shitty ass A.I. voicebanks cause that shit is dumb as hell and the original VAs don't consent to have their voices stolen (And also I think it makes it significantly funnier that it's just me doing all the voices hahaha)

I am SO not ready for this episode I know we're gonna get some absolute BOMBSHELL (Also if Team Pew Pew ACTUALLY wins the game/adventure because Kinger locks the fuck in at the last second, I absolutely called it, consider me a prophet)
