Are there any set facts about MC except that they are an MI5 agent?
I thought about it, but ultimately i decided it would be more interesting and fun to read if the MC was a clean slate, that the reader/ player could choose there own background, personality and morality

📂 Bureau Clearance Update: Public Disclosure Authorization
[FILE: REDACTED]
The Bureau of Altered Phenomena hereby authorizes the release of Project DEMO-001 to civilian oversight. This action is deemed “necessary” to recruit additional operatives capable of withstanding threshold instability and anomaly interference.
“The cracks are spreading.”
They told you the world was stable. They lied.
They told you time was linear. It isn’t.
They told you the Bureau was here to protect you. That’s only half the truth.
For decades, we’ve stood between you and the fractures threatening to unravel everything you know. The anomalies are relentless, their whispers growing louder, their reach expanding. Reality itself is fraying, and we don’t know how much longer we can hold it together.
Now, we’re asking you to step forward.
❓ Are you ready to enter the cracks? Are you prepared to make choices that will ripple across reality itself?
The Bureau will be watching.
“This is not a war. There is no victory waiting for you.
Only survival. And the cracks do not wait.”
Access the demo. See for yourself. But remember—some things, once seen, cannot be unseen.

Classified Dossier: Subject – DAMIEN LAURENT
LONDON - 1951
The study was quiet, save for the faint hum of a device nestled in the corner. Damien Laurent slipped through the heavy oak doors, their sharp amber eyes scanning the room with the precision of someone who had done this a hundred times before. Every detail mattered—the polished wood of the desk, the faint scuff marks on the floor near the bookshelves, and, most importantly, the glowing cube beneath a glass dome at the far end of the room.
“Doctor…Doctor” Damien murmured to themselves, their lips curling into a sly smile. “What secrets you keep, mon cher.”
This wasn’t just a casual heist, though Damien rarely needed much of an excuse to steal from those who hoarded power. No, this time it was business. Word had spread among certain circles about a device hidden in Hargrove’s possession, something tied to Threshold Zero—a whispered name that made even the most reckless traders in the black market pale. The Russians wanted it. The Americans wanted to keep it. And some persistent whispers hinted that remnants of the Nazi regime would kill for it.
And Damien? They knew enough to want a piece of it. A single transaction could set them up for years—or send them six feet under. Either way, it was irresistible.
Crossing the room with silent, practiced steps, Damien approached the glowing device. It was small, barely the size of a shoebox, but its presence filled the room like a living thing. The symbols etched into its surface shimmered faintly, almost imperceptibly, in the dim light. Its hum resonated in Damien’s chest, an unnerving sensation they ignored with ease.
“Well,” they murmured, tilting their head as they studied it. “Whatever you are, you’re worth more than gold. And gold is so dépassé these days.”
Damien reached into their pocket and pulled out a thin wire tool, slipping it into the edge of the glass dome. With a quiet pop, the dome lifted free. The hum intensified slightly, vibrating faintly in the air, but Damien barely noticed. Their fingers brushed the device, and a faint warmth spread through the leather of their gloves. For a brief moment, the air seemed to ripple, the walls bending and twisting like heat waves off desert sand.
“Curious,” Damien muttered. They hesitated, just for a moment, then lifted the device free.
The second it left its pedestal, the study felt alive. The low hum turned into a pulse, faint at first but growing stronger with each passing second. Damien didn’t falter. They slipped the device into the satchel hidden beneath their coat, adjusting the strap as they turned toward the door.
That’s when the voice stopped them cold.
“Laurent.”
Dr. Malcolm Hargrove stood in the doorway, his hands gripping the frame as though to steady himself. His face was pale, his glasses catching the faint glow of the device still pulsing in Damien’s satchel.
“Well, well,” Damien said, their smile widening. “Dr. Hargrove, you’re home earlier than expected. I was just admiring your collection.”
“You don’t know what you’re dealing with,” Hargrove snapped, his voice low but sharp. “Put it back. Now.”
Damien chuckled softly, adjusting their coat as they stepped closer. “I know exactly what I’m dealing with,” they replied. “A certain device that whispers of Russian rubles, American desperation, and a tidy fortune from some unsavory old friends of yours.” Their eyes narrowed slightly. “The kind who still like the sound of ‘Heil.’”
Hargrove’s face tightened, his composure cracking. “You don’t understand. That device—it’s not safe. It wasn’t meant to leave this room.”
Damien tilted their head, their voice softening into something almost apologetic. “And yet, here I am, carrying it off like a bottle of champagne at a dull party. Perhaps you shouldn’t have kept it where a curious Frenchman might stumble upon it, hmm?”
“Laurent,” Hargrove said again, his voice trembling now. “If you sell it—if it falls into the wrong hands—”
Damien raised a hand, silencing him. “Doctor, spare me the lecture. I don’t sell things to people who bore me, only those who intrigue me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a very curious buyer waiting.”
They stepped forward, and for a moment, Hargrove looked as though he might block their path. But the faint hum from the satchel grew louder, the sound distorting into something deeper, darker, almost alive. Hargrove faltered, his courage slipping beneath the weight of that sound.
Damien winked, brushing past him with effortless grace. “I’d suggest you start looking for something new to study. This one’s mine now.”
By the time Hargrove turned, Damien was already gone, the faint sound of their footsteps vanishing into the night. Outside, in the cool air of the garden, Damien adjusted their satchel, the device’s pulse a faint rhythm against their side.
“Russians, Americans, Nazis,” Damien mused, their breath curling in the cold night air. “So many people willing to pay for one little box. I do love being popular.”
But beneath the charm, a faint unease settled in Damien’s chest. Whatever this thing was, it felt alive in a way that defied logic. And for the first time in a long time, Damien wondered if they’d stolen more than they could handle.

Classified Dossier: Subject – Charlie Hayes
BERLIN - 1951
The abandoned rail yard stretched out before Charlie Hayes, a labyrinth of rusting freight cars and shadows that seemed alive under the faint glow of the moon. The wind howled through the gaps, carrying the metallic tang of decay, but it wasn’t the cold that sent a shiver down Charlie’s spine. It was the folder tucked inside their satchel—the weight of it, not in pounds but in consequences.
Charlie leaned against a rusted train car, their hands shoved into the pockets of their leather jacket. The cigarette dangling from their lips was more for show than comfort, a signal to their contact. They let it burn down to the filter, the ember glowing faintly as they waited, watching the horizon. The truth was out here, buried under layers of secrecy, and they were going to drag it into the light—no matter what it cost.
A figure appeared at the far end of the yard, moving cautiously, hunched against the wind. Charlie straightened, flicking the dead cigarette to the ground and grinding it under their heel. Their hazel eyes narrowed as the man approached, his silhouette lit briefly by the flicker of a distant streetlamp.
“You’re late,” Charlie said, their voice calm but sharp. They tugged their satchel higher on their shoulder, their hand brushing the notebook they kept tucked inside—always ready, always prepared.
The man didn’t respond immediately. His trench coat flapped in the wind, and when he stopped in front of Charlie, his face was pale, his eyes darting nervously. “I almost didn’t come,” he muttered, his German accent thick. “Do you know what they’ll do if they find out I talked to you?”
Charlie tilted their head, offering a small, humorless smile. “Probably the same thing they’ll do to me if I write the story,” they replied. “But here we are. So, let’s not waste time.”
The man hesitated, glancing over his shoulder as if expecting someone to materialize out of the shadows. Finally, he reached into his coat and pulled out a thin folder, its edges worn and its corners stained. He held it out reluctantly, his hand trembling.
Charlie didn’t move immediately. Their eyes locked onto his, steady and unwavering. “You’re doing the right thing,” they said, their voice softer now. “This isn’t just about you or me. This is about them”—they gestured vaguely toward the sky, the streets, the unseen public beyond—“all of them. People deserve to know what’s been done in their name.”
The man dropped his gaze, his jaw tightening. “You think they’ll care? You think the public wants to know about… about this?” He shook the folder slightly, his voice rising. “They’ll call it lies. Propaganda. They’ll bury it, like they buried everything else.”
“Not if I have anything to say about it.” Charlie’s tone hardened, and they stepped forward, taking the folder with careful hands. “You’ve seen what they’re hiding. You know what happens if no one stops it. Someone has to be brave enough to pull back the curtain.”
The man let out a bitter laugh, his breath visible in the cold night air. “Brave. You journalists think you’re heroes, don’t you?”
Charlie tucked the folder into their satchel, zipping it shut with precision. “Heroes are for comic books,” they said, their voice edged with sarcasm. “Me? I’m just a writer with a bad habit of asking the wrong questions.”
The man stared at them for a long moment, then shook his head. “You have no idea what you’re walking into. This… this isn’t a scandal. It’s not corruption. It’s something else. Something… unnatural. If you push too hard—”
“Yeah, yeah,” Charlie interrupted, their tone breezy but their pulse quickening. “I disappear. You’re not the first person to tell me that, and you probably won’t be the last. But the thing is, I don’t scare easy. So, unless you have anything else to say, I’d suggest you disappear first.”
The man opened his mouth to reply but stopped, glancing over his shoulder again. Without another word, he turned and walked back into the shadows, his steps uneven but quick.
Charlie stayed where they were for a moment, the wind tugging at their jacket as they stared at the spot where he’d vanished. The satchel felt heavier now, the weight of the folder pressing against their side. Projekt Schwarzfeld. Threshold Zero. Whispers of experiments that defied explanation, of a government desperate to keep the truth locked away.
“Not for much longer,” Charlie muttered under their breath.
They adjusted their satchel and started toward the edge of the yard. As they walked, a faint hum reached their ears—a sound that shouldn’t exist in the stillness of the night. It rose and fell, almost melodic, but distorted, like a record being played backward.
Charlie stopped, their hand moving instinctively to the knife tucked into their jacket. They scanned the yard, but nothing moved. Only shadows stretched around them, bending and twisting unnaturally as the hum grew louder.
“Just the wind,” they told themselves, though their voice lacked conviction.
Forcing their legs to move, Charlie quickened their pace, their thoughts racing faster than their steps. The government thought they could bury the truth, silence the past. But secrets like this had a way of clawing their way back to the surface.
And Charlie Hayes? They were going to make sure the world listened.
