My most recent drawing shows Koffa, a water creature of the folklore where I grew up, along the southern shores of Vänern, Sweden.

I’ve been spending quite a lot of time drawing this creature of Swedish folklore, Koffa, figuring out the anatomy, looking at videos of fish, mulling over shades of light and darkness. I actually miss it now that it’s been framed and lent to an exhibition.

Death, the black extinguisher of minds, was much too selfish and greedy when it came to Terry Pratchett.

It feels empty learning Terry Pratchett has passed away.
I will always remember how I giggled hysterically, tears running, reading discworld novels. And I will also always cherish the memories of concerned gazes from fellow commuters trying to asses if the obviously insane young man curled up with his book in the bus seat was a danger or just a nuisance.
Thank you.

It’s sunny outside. Somewhere in the distance spring is coming. First outdoor lunch this year. Making a celebratory face from falafel foil.

I was so excited yesterday. I had a book date! An auctioneer the next town over has three parts of William Morris the Earthly Paradise up for sale. It was my first chance to meet an original publication from art hero William Morris and epic Kelmscott press.
I was so pumped up to get a first hand tactile experience of his work after looking at the art in books and online since forever. Their take on medieval art is a huge inspiration of mine. But BOY was I baffled!
The bindings were so stiff the books hardly opened, the parchment felt like lasagna sheets before they are cooked and the pages were coarse, stiff and thicker than I expected. Some of this could be down to how the books have been stored over the 150 + years (pretty sure the missing parchment on the spines are down to hungry mice) but other than that I’ve just imagined it wrong all these years.
So, I learned a lot and it is still very inspiring. It will no doubt inform some of my future book monsters.

I had such a happy day contributing to the extraordinary grass root creative explosion that is Kyndelsmarknad i Lykttändargränd.
It is amazing what ordinary people willing to freely play their way to a common goal, ticking off all the hundred little musts and ought tos along the way can accomplish. I have made so many friends here over the years, and developed my own art as well.
One of my best persons traveled for hours to take part this year, and she took this picture of wizard me. Lights! Action! Transform!
