Maybe Rocky Can See Colors

Okay so light is just photons and things moving at wavelengths and depending on the wavelength width it's a certain color right?

Sound has wavelengths, and Rocky (and humans) pick them up with our hearing devices. Vastly different but bear with me.

If electromagnetic wavelengths (anywhere from meters to nanometers wide) around earth can be transformed through data to create sound, then theoretically Rocky could be made to 'hear' colors based on their wavelengths being translated into radio sounds.

Humanly visible light wavelengths only run in the 380-700 nanometers range, so if it was pitched down and the produced sound widened at a constant rate throughout the 'Rocky Color Scale', he could hear it and use a Colorino thing that blind folks use, but instead of it saying 'blue' it would just let out a small whizz of static that could be perceived by his sensitive hearing as 'color wavelengths' and shift to represent more intricate colors with slight static changes.

Anyways thanks for coming to my Ted Talk this was inspired by a cool Podcast 'NASA's Curious Universe'.

went to the best store on the planet aka barnes & noble yesterday with my heart set on shakespeare and had a crisis over whether i should get Fantasy Space Lesbian Necromancers or Man in Coma Loses Memory and Saves Human Race but with Real Physics (both of which i have yet to read but desperately want to) so of course i walked out with hamlet and the four swords manga *sighs in nerd*

Xenonite Legos don't have color and Rocky doesn't know that, but what else is the fully stocked laboratory in the main ship for!??? Maybe Ryland makes some paint. Pthalocyanide blue, Pthalocyanide green, and Cadmium yellow could easily be achieved and then just Iron Oxide for some red. It'd be weird and maybe chip off the metal but color rights for our poor guy up in space!! When was the last time he saw green.

Ryland and Rocky bond over legos. Rocky not being able to see means he can’t read the builder manual, so Ryland has to look up an audio instruction for a set. Turns out there is a friends set which I thiink has a audio version of the instructions that lets visually impaired people build them, which is nice. Also, the Lego set being a Friends brand one is pretty wholesome to me. I built one of those sets once and it was pretty fun. Ryland has never strikes me as someone who made a big deal about being a guy and playing with “girls toys”. I still feel like years ago he might have had some internalized stuff and or didn’t question only indulging in stuff he considered masculine. His students opened his mind though and he became more comfortable with it. Plus, Ryland playing with a “girls” Lego set just makes me smile. Rocky loves it too. It’s this set btw:
