Valentine’s Day
Valentine's day or Feast of Saint Valentine is celebrated annually on 14th of Feb as Lover's day which was initially Originated as day to commemorate the death anniversary of saint named Valentine. As Feb 14 is the day honoring Saint Valentine Day, the saints referring to this day is only few, they are Valentine of Rome and Valentine of Terni.
Valentine of Rome
Valentine of Rome was Martyed on AD 269. He was added to the calendar of saints by Pope Galesius. His relies were kept on the Catacombs of San Valentigo. During the period of Nicholas IV the relies of Valentine were transferred to the Church of Santa Prassede. The head of Saint Valentine is flower crowned and exhibited in Santa Maria in Cosmedian.
Valentine of Terni
Valentine of Terni was martyed on AD 273. He was buried on Via Flaminia. And his relies were kept on Basilica of St valentine in Terni.
There has no evidence for the link between the st Valentine and day for Romantic love.
Legends
Several stories and fables of St valentine mainly associated with Feb 14, in which most of them related to martyrdom.
One of the common story told about Saint Valentine is, That he have been executed for performing weddings for the soldiers of Roman empire. As the soldiers were forbidden to marry. Before his execution, he had written a letter to the daughter of jailer, whom he healed and later become his love affair, signed the letter as "your valentine"
But according to historians there has been no marriage ban issued by Claudius II( who is said as the Emperor, who ordered the execution of Saint valentine). supporting the statement , after the victory of Goths, Claudius told his soldiers to take more women for them.
One other Story is, King Claudius interrogated with Saint Valentine as a person and tried to convert him to Roman to save his life ( Valentine was persecuted as he is Christian). Saint valentine refused to be converted. Before his execution, he healed Julia, blind daughter of jailer. The jailer and his family due to this miracle believed Jesus and so they weer babitised also.

Tradition
Although the modern day Valentine's day become marginalized to American customs of romantic love. The European tradition of Valentine's day is different. As the day is only associated with Saints and Spring.

In Slovenia, There is saint named Zdravko who is offend called as saint Valentine, is saint connected to spring and pilgrims. It is day believed that plant and flower grow on this day. There is Proverb "saint valentine brings the key of roots" defines the above statement
Transformation to Day of Romance
In Ancient Rome, during 5th century, Roman festival called Juno Ferrua (meaning Purifier Juno) is celebrated on 13-15 on the month of Feb. Pope Gelalious abolished this festival and introduced the festival "Purification of Mary". Although it is called purification of Mary, which later became "Presentation of Jesus on Temple"which is celebrated on Feb 14.
Researchers doubt this incident may rooted the 14 century's first recorded description of Feb 14 as a day of celebration of love from "Character of Court of Love". Some say that"Parliament of Foules" was the recorded association valentines day
"For this was on seynt Volantynys day Whan euery bryd comyth there to chese his make"
But meaning of the poem doesn't relate valentines day to romantic love, however it only denotes days of Mid Feb is mating time for birds in England.

History
It is said that black economy was started root since the world war II. Companies of colonial India made the situation conducive by short supply of industrial goods and made a huge profit from the cutoff. To cease the underground economy British Government formed Ayers committee in 1936 to investigate the shadow economy to improve the tax collection.
Defects in Tax structure
Due to the defects and loop holes in tax structure, the tax payers are distracted to escape from taxation. The high tax rate is also big factor for tax evasion. Due to these factor most of the traders and business people don't show their actual income.
Sources

Trading of precious metals like golds and gems like Diamonds are often common contributed source of black economy. Since India is largest importer of gold illegal trading and smuggling of gold contributes the source of black economy. Some common tactics are Hiding of this metal and selling it during high demand. Gold is also conduit for converting black money from abroad to local black money.
Aboard investments
It is reported that over 500 million US$ of Indian money is deposited in abroad(tax haven countries). As the people hide their income they tend to deposit their black money in foreign banks and fund investment aboard

Donation
Many private educational institutions collect donations and capitation fee for the management quota seat. These money are not accounted and no receipt given. Businessman also give donation to ruling party to making policies in favor their business.
Real estate
As the real estate constitutes 11% of national GDP large amount of unaccounted money is parked in real estate. As the transaction taxes of high for the properties with hive level, by paying bribes and under declaration values making paper works much opaque.
Consequences
As the black money is result stagnant of unaccounted money, resulting in circulation of lesser money on economy. Which eventually lowers the growth of economy. As the black economy largely effects the real investments, resulting the scarcity of foreign exchange preventing essential imports.
Black money not only chunk the nations large amount of natural resources but also siphoned out.
Remedies
The reports shows that unless repealing of the old and complicated laws such as urban land ceiling act and rent control act and simplification of real estate transaction process the source of black money from real estate is very difficult to be eliminated.
Blockage of government funds( AICTE and DST) to the institutions having trusts for tax fraudulent may reduce the black money generation in Educational sector.
Severe punishment must be given to the person who are caught out-lawing and malpractice of economic policies
The laws of constitution should be revised to free from loops and pits
Lower of taxes can lead to unnecessary tax evasion and simplification of tax law can make easy to catch the account fudgers

This is why Months like October November and December has the prefix of Latin word Octo, Novem ad Decem for denoting eight, nine and ten. The months January and February were later added to the calendar around 700BC. The New year was later shifted to January, as this month were Romans elects consuls, the highest officials in Republic of Rome. The first recorded celebration of new year in January was around 153BC in Rome. Newly formed date was not observed widely and this why people in some places still observe New year in March.
Julian calendar
In 46BC Julius Caesar extended the days of year from 355 to 445. He inserted 23 days in the month of February and the remaining 67 days converted to 2 interrelates, then interposed between Last two months. Caesar also extended months of year from 12 to 15. After this Year, Romans Officially made January 1 as New year, as the Romans normally use name the elected consuls specify an year. Some may argue this Theory and make an alternate statement that During 46BC after the Murder of Caesar, Roman senate Voted to commemorate Caesar On first day of January, For his work on Julian calendar and honoring him.
Gregorian calendar
During 567AD council of Tours had ordered several times to abolish the celebration of New year on January 1 and there has been some evidence of celebration of new year on 25th of December date which is considered to be birth of Jesus.
During later 1562 several reformation of Gregorian calendar restored New year day as January 1. Gregorian calendar also deleted 10 days for error accumulation, which made new year come after winter solstice. New calendar was immediately adapted by most of the catholic countries except British. Colonies of British also celebrated New year on 1st of March until 1752.

Birth of Christ
Christmas is celebrated as the day which Jesus was born on earth who is believed as "son of god". No one knows Real birthday of Jesus and it is not recorded even in bible. But First recorded Christmas celebration of Christmas at 25 December was in the year of 336 AD.
Controversial theories
There is also some practical reason that he was not born in winter but maybe in spring because shepherds would keep out their cattle from snowy hill. And the star of Bethlehem also hints birth Jesus might have been either spring or Autumn.
During spring Jew people celebrate a festival called "passover", to remember the Jew escape from Egyptian slavery . Jew people from from all over roman empire travel to the temple in Jerusalem to sacrifice their lamps. As it is a ceremony of all peoples Romans might have used this season as census. As Mary and Joseph were Jew, they went from Bethlehem to Jerusalem for census.
Choice of DEC 25
Record of official declaration of Christmas day was made during 4th century by Rome church Bishops. Saturnalia, the Rome festival, which is celebrated to hon-out the Roman God Saturn was held at 25th of December. And Birth day of Pagan sun god Mithra was at same day also. As the bible states that Jesus is also called "sun of Righteousness". This could have been a reason for choosing the Christmas date as 25th December.
And also Jewish festival called Hanukkah starts on 25th of December. For Jewish it is the festival of lights.

WHY WE CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN IMPRESS
Halloween
Halloween is celebrated on November 31 of every year. Day when we curve the pumpkins, wearing spooky costumes and go trick or treating and candy poping. But wait why do we celebrate Halloween and where is its origin. To answer the former, Halloween is celebrated to remember our dead ancestors. Halloween is celebrated till 2nd of November. later is described briefly below.
Word Etymology
The word "Halloween" used these days is derived from the word "All Hallows'eve", hallows means Holly and eve is shortened to "een" in Halloween.
History of Halloween
The Origin of Halloween is unknown, but is expected that it would be evolved from Celts. Celtic peoples celebrated this festival on end of November. But they called this festival as "samhain-means summers end" not Halloween. And it is celebrated for ending the harvest.
But the thing which matches up Halloween are, Celtic peoples believed that sprites of dead can enter their world at that day. These souls visit their former house and feast on food and drinks which were offered for their arrival. And sprites would protect their castle and farms for serving in winter.
And some members of tribe would dress up like their dead ancestors and went to neighboring houses for exchanging their foods.which is similar to todays trick or treating.
Other Origin is estimated around 3000 bc in Ireland. It is believed that during the sunrise of October 31 the sprites of dead would return to our world to celebrate the end of summer. It is believed that Neolithic burial mound is gateway for sprites. Doorway is Aligned to sunrise.
Traditions

True to his Words Satan refused the Jack's soul to enter Hell and throws peace of burning coal to Jack. He placed the coal into Turnip for going off due to winds. With Turnip Lantern Jack's soul is believed to be wondering and looking for a place for peaceful rest.

BIONIC TECHNOLOGY EVOLUTION AND EMPOWER OF DISABLED IMPRESS
Bionic technology
The terms bionic and prosthetic are popular since the television series The "Six Million Dollar Man" and "Robocop". Bionic technology or bionics is study about science which deals biology and electronics by studying and mimicking the nature to engineering systems. who would have thought science fiction is becoming reality
Evolution of Bionics
Cairo Toe
Did you know bionics were used since 900th century BC by Egyptians. Archaeologist Recently found old mummified body with prosthetic toe. Which has two wooden parts tied together with leather thread through holes bored on them and has a strap which connects foot to the wooden toe.
Middle age
Medical development were limited during Middle Ages. Amputation is only practice done to save the man who last their hands and limbs during battlefield. prosthetic devices were developed for those soldiers. Records shows the prosthetic hand holding shield were used in second Punic war.
Patenting prostheses
Due to inexperience in amputation and no medical development made only 80% of survival during middle ages. After 1500 AD many discoveries in medical increased the survival rates and increased the development of prosthetic devices. As of this patenting of prosthetic devices were made. The well patent is for artificial limb by James E Hanger
Development through bionic technology
Before 20th century prosthetics devices are made to do one particular task, let say prosthetic hand with fork for eating and hooks or carrying and lifting. Advancement in bionics had given new life to prosthetic technology, to mimicking like human parts can do.
This bionic technology uses the electrodes like sensor which has the ability read the human muscles(at limb of hand or leg). Prosthetic device has motor which is operated like normal human hand or leg. This technology costs more than 100 billion dollars. For past few decades scientist have been working on this technology to make it more affordable.
Bionic devices
Scientist were crushing towards the future of bionic technology. Proving that we create a extra ordinary human with combination of man and machine. some of puzzle pieces of bionics are explained below.
Eye
Nearly quarter billion people in this world are visually impaired and 10% of them were blind. Electronic chip sensors implanted on the back of their eye which produces electrical pulses that can pass through the nerve into brain. This technology is still in infantry as patients with bionic eye can only see the fuzzy image of people.
Ears
Bionic ears are more familiar device ,you probably have seen it in ads. It has been with us for nearly a half a century. the implant sends electronic impulse into the brain which makes the patient to hear. Down part of this device is, wearer will struggle in noisy area because of inability to tune particular sound.
Heart
Bionic hearts are primarily a mini sized pump, which is used to pump the blood to human organs. The first bionic heart implant was done in 1982. Bionic heart is different from other bionics as it require continues and constant power supply.
Brain
Brain is more complex than any other organs. It is primary organ that controls other organs. Scientists are working bionic brain. It is simply a micro chip with coded memories. Scientists have planned to test in animals but who knows.
youtube
Courtesy: TED Talks
Future of Bionic Technology
Enhanced vision
Scientists believe that the bionic eye can lead to miniature artificial lens which can enhance the vision. Probably like a Super vision as the user can zoom vision.
Defense and Security
Bionics in defense reminds us the movie "robocop" and cyborg in "teen titans". Researchers think it will definitely a choice in future innovations.
Touch
Even the latest Bionic device lacks this feature. This sense can feel the wearer how gentle or hard to grip things. Scientists thing Synthetic skin which is used by the robots to sense touch can solve this problem. But it arise the problem of feeding information to nerve cells.

WHY DO COMPANIES REALLY CARE ABOUT BRANDING IMPRESS
What is Branding
Branding is word which we normally think in our brains whenever we come across the word Corporate. So what is branding. In short it is nothing but a identity which separates it from others. Branding is not about colors and vector logos, it is about how customer perceives it.
Evolution Of Branding
Livestock or cattle branding
Believe it or not Word branding has roots before the industrial revolutions. Farmers and ranchers used to mark their cattle with fire marks to determine which animal was theirs. Do you know, branding means "BURN" in German.
Branding as Trademark
Before 18th century brands where like watermarks in papers. Factories used to brand their cargoes and barrels making branding as trademark.
Industrial branding
During the Industrial revolution Companies like coco-cola, quaker oats, kellogs etc were branded in order to increase the trust of people on their product by introduction of fake and similar products and mostly bargaining.
During mid 19th century companies used slogans, mascots and jingles for products which really made impact in the meaning of branding.
Strategies used in branding
Before we start knowing about strategies let us have some peep look on cola products. When we think about the word cola the thing which sticks our mind is "coco-cola". Did you know coco-cola is oldest brand in the world. The strategy of secret formula for making, makes it one of the powerful brand till now.
Brand Definition
Brand defines the identity and for an identity to be known, it has to be defined, confusing isn't it. Brand definition is like clarifying the world what your product is all about.
Some times brand names can tell whats your moto of your company. For example Microsoft- Microcomputer and software, FEDEX-federal express,INTEL-Integrated electronics. Making the brand name as daily life usable word is were the success lies.
brand as verb Google it- for searching web photoshop it- editing photos i will skype you- video call someone
brand as noun ipod- mp3 player powerpoint presentation - excel presentation xerox- photocopy
Brand Consistent
Consistent means "being same over time". A brand should maintain consistency ,like maintaining the logo of the brand. which helps your customers to remember and not to confuse with other brands.
Brand which to our mind is Disney, over the time from its origin it hasn't changed its logo, another company is The New York times
Trust Factor
Slogan which ties the brand with customer is trust. This word makes them to repeatedly use your product or buy a product which cost thousands of dollars. Trust can help during brand extensions of the company. Cultivating trust can bring profit to business.
For example there is difference between Rolex and other watches. HOG and other motorbikes. Virtu and other phones.
Flexible
World is fast changing, to survive in market brand has to be flexible to satisfy customers expectations. But how can a brand be flexible when it has to be consistent.
The perfect example for this dilemma is Google. Over decades Google has it domination in on-line search engine. But it hasn't stopped there it maintained it dominance by introducing voice search, auto suggestion for words, spell correction, etc.
So Consistency applies great for standard not for competition.
youtube
Brand Identification
Identity for a brand is essential in these days as people easily forget thing and to out-stand other brand with same names.
Making a quote or tag line
Memorable and catchy phrases can deliver the brand some essence. For example Nike-just do it NVIDIA-Its meant to be played Raymond-The complete man
Voice or music
Musics and voice has more impact as induces the emotional part of brain. Nokia with evergreen Nokia tune MGM(Metro Goldwyn Mayer) with its famous lion roar Sony with trademarked computer voice
Logo or Icon mark
Logo of brand can determine the emotion and moto of the company. Color and style are the two eyes of logo. Logo determines the passion of brand, example for apple with its quarter bitten, Google with vivid colors.

FUTURE OF HOLOGRAM TECHNOLOGY IMPRESS
Holograms have been one of the largely hipped technology for the last few decades. Imagine a device that transmits 3d images close to real. Think of numerous applications that it will lead to. For example, you can conduct speech your home to the audience who where over thousand miles away with 3D high-resolution, full size image of your body which could be projected on stage in front of a live.
This could result in major advances in holographic tele-presence technologies. We know it from the famous movie "Star Trek" using halodesk a device projecting 3d transparent image of somebody that one could interact with and ask questions. Hollywood made this technology look easy, but in reality, holographic technologies are still in the stage of primitive design.
How it works
Hologram works nearly same as photograph principle light source (like sun or flash), object (boy, dog or alien) and a photographic plate to collect the scatterd light or reflected light intensity which is bounced back from the object.
But hologram adds extra requirement called distance traveled by light which is called as face which is achieved by the light source called laser.
Road to reality
Pepper's Ghost
Dennis Gabor was the one who invented the first hologram in 1940's which gained him Nobel prize in 1971. But do you Holograms had been alive from 400 years before. In that they used glass and some lighting effects making the illusion of subject appearing and vanishing, they called this conjuring trick as Pepper's Ghost. Which went viral during Victorian times.
Dreamoc
Dreamoc was introduced by Realfiction in 2009. It look similarly like glass pyramid it is mostly used for experiencing motion graphics in 3D. Dreamoc is mainly used for brand launches and promotions. Hologram presented can be 180 and 360 degree screen.
HOLO
Unlike Dreamoc, Holo is the hologram system which you can interact holograms with gestures. Designed by Conran Partners it is promoted as the "World's first 360° interactive hologram". Holo produces nice holographic visuals which can be observed all around.
Holovision
Holovision is founded by the Curt Thornton. This technology generate 3d image using an LCD screen and concave mirror to create the illusion of a floating 3D image. It is in box hologram projection system and is little similar to pepper's ghost.
Voxiebox
VOXON's Voxiebox is hologram system which is touted as the "world's first holographic gaming system". Voicebox uses tiny projector to project a 2D image up at some viewing screen on top of the box, then it is vibrated 'screen up and down' at a rate of 20Hz, creating true volumetric display which can viewable from any angle.
youtube
Courtesy: Discovery Channel
Hologram in future
As we are still in the infant stage of hologram there are some technologies which are yet to be reality. Below Technologies are some of them.
Electro-holographic display
Have you ever dreamed of some technology which can record your whole body and display in holograms. Electro holography is the name that technology which uses electro-holography which records 3D subject and can able to reconstruct them in hologram.
Touchable hologram
Recent time, there has been major growth in touch screen devices. But here comes technology were we can touch the hologram. It sounds great, but it arises the question how?. Touchable hologram runs on software which uses ultrasonic waves feeling the pressure of touch.
Holographic TV
Just imagine a world from 10 or 20 years from now and drawing room in your house with holographic TV. Well it may be biggest of all surprises, During your boring 2d cartoon channels into realistic hologram 3d. We can anticipate it the market in future.
Holographic gaming
Entertainment cannot fulfill meaning without the term game. Holographic gaming will surely be in the future innovations. let us not forget computer gaming has evolved from multiple stages like joystick, keyboard, touchscreen and gestures. Holographic gaming will surely enhance the interaction with the gaming world and player.
Thought about Hologram
So like every other innovative technology hologram does need some time to perfect itself and becoming a essential part in day to day life. But hopefully it will take too long. Perhaps it will take a decade but it will surely be a game changer. By seeing foot steps of past and and present we can surely predict hologram system may revolutionize space research, architecture, non-photorealism and entertainment.

WILL VIRTUAL REALITY BE FUTURE OF GAMING IMPRESS
VIRTUAL REALITY GAMING
Virtual-reality gaming or simply VRG is where human can encounter and experience the 3d world and intercommunicate with it . Virtual reality is the essential part in VR games.
How VR Gaming works
Bio-sensing
Well it works on Bio-sensing, the Way for detecting a someone’s presence in game. The sensors which are attached to glove, suit and body will record the movement made by the person in a 3D space. These movements will be interpreted by some special computers and it will trigger some variety of digital response within the space.
For ex: Lets say you are playing a driving game and you are wearing a pair of data glove which has some samll sensors embedded on it. These sensors records as your hand and palm moves, turns steering wheel in some particular direction.
The movements are fed back to a computer which then analyses the data and uses this to transform your actions into the appropriate responses on the screen.
It may sounds a bit technical but it is a clever way of detecting the movements of a player during a game. Making the player,a vital part of the game. This is known as an ‘immerse experience’.
Cool thing about VRG
Virtual reality games are mostly aimed at teenagers who love the graphics, animations and best of all, being able to talk to others. This ensures them that they aren't left out and makinga good-way of getting used to the technology. After all, what could be better than the chance to interact with top end technology.
There games are available for Xbox 360, PS2 and PS3 as well as the Mac and PC.
Virtual reality Game companies
Virtual reality is touted as the next big thing. There are very big name players in the world of virtual reality gaming. These are companies who already lead the way in gaming as of that there is no surprise that they have decided to re-energize virtual reality.
Sony (PlayStation)* Microsoft (Xbox) Nintendo (Wii) Linden Labs (Second Life) Electronic Arts (The Sims etc)
*PlayStation console (version 5 or 6) allows you to experience a semi-immerse virtual reality experience.
Many of you will be familiar with these companies especially if you are keen gamer. Keep an eye on what the big companies are doing on regards virtual reality gaming as there may be a few surprises.
Virtual reality Games by Microsoft (Xbox)
The Xbox and Xbox 360 are owned by Microsoft along with the Microsoft Kinect. Kinect is a motion capture device which enables you to interact with a game using body movements and voice commands. It does allow you to use gesture rather than wearing a head mounted display (HMD) or data suit/glove. So it is not strictly VR.
Examples of games for the Kinect include:
Dance Central 2 Kinect Star Wars Kinect Sports: Season 2 UFC Personal Trainer Kinectimals
youtube
Courtesy: TED Talks
Future of VR Gaming, what to expect?
Well, it looks exciting with new developments in virtual reality gear and games consoles. But big problem with virtual reality is cost. In fact, only university research departments and companies with a research and development (R & D) section are able to afford this type of set up.
But good news is, like most technology, the price is started to come-down due to the affordablity of components.
Nanotech VR!
There is talk about using nano technology as a means of allowing us to push beyond the boundaries of the human body and enter into the digital world. You can become one with virtual world. Your brain would be uploaded into a computer system or network which would mean immortality. But who knows? VR will lead to new innovative type(genre) in games, pushing the boundaries also generating awesome experiences.
3D Internet
And let’s not forget the Internet. There are games programmers who like the idea of a three dimensional Internet in which you are able to explore websites in a dynamic way. Rather than clicking on a link and scanning the information on a web page you will be able to physically touch that page and manipulate it.
Think of a web page as a location which you can explore at your leisure, which allows you to socialise with others in a 3D environment, which may lead to Second Life!!
