Thoughts on IW and A4

Guys I spent the past few days disappointing my AP English teacher and using my mind-mapping skills to map out a lot of my thoughts on Infinity War and Avengers 4 but I feel no shame. Is it Doctor Strange? A Watcher? The Collector? The Grandmaster? Loki? Hela? Gahhh I need answers!!!

This is it.

The key moment in the entire mcu. Loki’s decision to let go, to fall through the void, to basically kill himself, shapes the entirety of the marvel universe.

If loki hadn’t had let go he never would have encountered Thanos. He never would have been given the mind stone, or led Thanos to the space stone on earth. The avengers would have never have formed. Even if there had been a different threat, odin would have never used dark magic to send thor to earth unless it was loki he was fighting. There would never have been a nuke sent to New York. Tony would have never gone through the portal. Tony would never have built Ultron. Wanda wouldn’t have joined the avengers. Vision wouldn’t have existed. Loki wouldn’t have been imprisoned so frigga would have lived as no one would tell the kurse where to go. Odin wouldn’t have been weakened and die of grief. Meaning that thanos would have been out matched, and, as the tessaract was originally part of odin’s treasure chest, he would have stopped thanos from getting the space stone. And if thanos didn’t have the space stone, none of the events of infinity war would have happened.

All of this happened because loki. Let. Go.

I wonder if loki ever realised the significant effect he would have on the universe. I doubt it. I think he let go because he believed himself as insignificant. He was a second son. Everytime he strive for greatness he was overshadowed or stopped by his father and brother. Loki thought himself a footnote in the universe, but instead, he was the author.

As in the comics, Loki truly is the god of stories. He’s been shaping the story of the mcu, even without knowing it.

It was loki’s story that led us into this mess, and you can be damn sure it will be loki’s story that gets us out of it…

This scene is so ambiguous.

Yes, Loki is talking to Natasha, but why focus on Loki’s reflection in the glass?

Because some of Loki’s words were meant for himself, even if he didn’t meant for them to be, or if the dirwctors didn’t mean for them to be.

His words extend to himself, what he has done, what he is doing, all his hopes and nightmares.

So many meanings could be made out of just those words in those two screenshots alone.

And I think this scene was truly brilliant.

I love how MARVEL keeps presenting us with these dashing and powerful superheroes, but we go looking the other way for the lost souls, who are supposed to be the bad guys.

THOR

Marvel: Here is your beautiful, long blonde haired God of Thunder, the title character, who is the rightful ruler of Asgard.

Us: But. . But. . Let’s talk about how Loki must be dying on the inside. .

AVENGERS

Marvel: No, you don’t understand. Loki is EVIL.

Us: No, he is just misunderstood.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD

Marvel: Did you see how he killed those innocent people on earth and tried to make everyone kneel before him? He is evil and needs to be put in prison.

Us: What he REALLY needs is a bit of love. Can’t you see it in his eyes???

He is dying on the inside. LOOK AT HIM!!!

THOR: RAGNAROK

Marvel: ALRIGHT! Stop complaining. Here you go.

Us: You guys have broken him so much that he can’t comprehend the love any more.

And that dumbass brother can’t even see how much pain he really is in.

When Peter reassembled, he fell to his knees with a gasp. He planted his hands on the ground – still Titan’s ground, he noted somewhere in the back of his mind – for stability. Not that it provided much, the way his entire body was shaking. He gasped for breath, tears burning his eyes.

“Mr. Stark?” he managed to rasp out, unable to lift his head to look for him.

“Kid. Kid! You’re all right, you’re safe now.”

Something about the voice sounded off, but Peter blamed it on the ringing in his ears. He nodded, trying to tell himself to calm down. He was alive, right? That’s what mattered.

Avengers 4 T H E O R Y

Guys.

I just had a thought.

Which turned into a theory.

Even I can hardly believe it.

Alright, so remember Marvel said Captain Marvel will be able to move planets in the MCU? I saw a tweet about it.

So, remember in Infinity War when Tony, Strange, Peter, and the Guardians get off the flying donut to investigate the planet they are on, Titan?

And Peter Quill says something along the lines of:

“What happened to this planet? It’s eight degrees off it’s axis. Gravitational pull is everywhere.”

What could have caused the planet to go haywire like that?

Perhaps Captain Marvel herself was there?

Remember that theory about time travel in Avengers 4?

Well, I propose that Captain Marvel and some of the Avengers will travel back in time to Titan before the Gotg and company arrive.

Things that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi said of Loki:

A number of significant ways in which Loki’s character was retconned in Ragnarok:

Tom: Loki’s death on Svartalfheim was written as a death, and Chris and I played that scene for real. That was meant to be sort of that he redeemed himself. He helped save his brother and helped save Jane Foster, but he, in the process, sacrificed himself.

Sometime in the movies Marvel needs to adress this. They keep on shying away from it, like, ‘oh, it doesn’t matter. He’s good now.’ I want to know wtf happened to him in the damn void already.” Just tell us already. Tom said he went through some pretty horrible things.

I saw some gifs that were him talking about it and, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe some of the things he said were like “He ran into some of the darkest creatures in the corners of the universe.” “It was pretty terrible, all his compassion for Frigga and Thor shriveled into almost nothing.”

It doesn’t directly talk about torture, but I see how it could fit in

What could possibly make his love for his mother and brother almost disappear?

Oh, right.

Thanos.

What did Thanos do to Loki?!

In the first part of Avengers, we can clearly see Loki is not well. Far from it, actually.

•sunken, dark eyes

•trouble walking

•sweating

•pale skin

•trouble walking

•clear signs of exhaustion

•blue eyes (could be reflecting the light of Tesseract, as we’ve seen his eyes to be reflective throughout the movies. They did digitally enhance his eyes, tho)

Look at him before he fell. (Thor 2011). Healthy.

Now look at him after he fell.

Burned skin, bloodied teeth.

Wtf happened to him?

Marvel needs to actually adress what happened to Loki soon instead of shying away from it like they have since 2012.

We need to know what happened to him in the void.

Please give it to us, Marvel.
