Huh, you know I never actually considered whether or not he went to Muggle school. I assume so simply because he lived in a muggle neighborhood with a muggle father and it would give him an excuse to get him out of the house.

Lily had a right to break up her friendship with Severus

Who said that!

No but actually, if your friend lashes out, angrily calls you a slur when you were trying to help after you’ve noticed for years now that they were slowing falling into, essentially a supremacy cult that hates your very being, and laughs off possible assault his other “friends” were committing on students (Mulciber and McDonald) then it’s not too far of a stretch to say you would cut off that friendship too.

Now that’s not to say that I think her falling in love with James (main bully #1) and possibly becoming best friends with Sirius (main bully #2) is morally righteous by any means.

But, I have seen a couple of people defend Severus so far that they kind of villainize Lily in a way, which I simply think is unfair considering how much complexity holding these two seemingly contradictory responses within her story gives her character.

Just think about, these characters aren’t meant to be black and white. They exist in the grays and removing those shades is an injustice to their characters.

That’s not to say it’s not fun or not okay to enjoy headcanons or fics that portray Lily in a solely negative light of course- this is fandom, no mans land. BUT I think it’s infinitely more interesting to view these two childhood friends as mirror images of one another.

Each of them defending their friend’s actions (Severus w Bruce, Avery, etc + Lily w the marauders) despite both their friends hurting one another, and ultimately I think that might have been the final nail in the coffin. The fact that they couldn’t choose one or the other, they wanted both.

Banging my head in the wall at the realization that the HP HBO show is actually real and actually going to happen.

I’ve already seen so many videos excited to watch it and such. Have we all forgotten who JRK is? Do we just not care about her blatant bigotry and horrifying donations to overtly transphobic organizations?

I get it, I’ve seen the new casting for the golden trio and honestly I really like them- but I’ve already seen so much discourse over Paapa Essiedu being Snape (a whole can of worms, I, a non-black person feel I can’t really speak on).

I can’t in good conscience get hopeful or excited knowing this show will just cause so many fans to fund JKRs shit.
