Headcannon thats dumb maybe: Four gets repeated nightmares and spaces out constantly until her pallet is reconfigured. She’s annoyed with herself but doesn’t know why this is happening until it ‘randomly’ stops.
Eight doesn’t know about this until Four randomly mentions it and she’s like: “Wait a f*cking minute-”

Side Order headcanon thing that probably sucks but could also maybe work too idk
The palette Eight currently uses temporarily gives them the personality of the person the kit belongs to until they switch palettes/exit the simulation.
Pearl's palette makes Eight more energetic yet also becoming reckless, as they'd end up running to fight any Jelleton that even looks at them funny.
Marie's palette gives Eight a more sarcastic, laid-back personality. Perhaps they'd also get more concerned on how Acht and OtH are doing at the time during their current run through the Spire.
Perhaps Octavio's palette causes Eight to have beef with or lash out at Pearl, as though we've never seen her interact with the DJ in official media (as far as I'm aware), the two of them would probably clash a lot.
Sheldon makes Eight more nerdy, rambling on about weapons, possibly even trying to give advice to the Parallel Canon Inklings on how to get the best use of their weapons.
I could probably go on with this but I feel like I've given some good enough examples, idk.
