I always loved her blue nightgown with the beaded straps.
Like, she really went to bed wearing that? That’s so iconic of her!

Reblogging specifically for ‘Jim Henson and Frank Oz made Fizzgig in a cave with a box of scraps’
wait I lied I just remembered I have one more thing to say about rebel moon and it is that all the alien animals were absolutely embarrassing. the space horses were just clydesdales with bad cgi on their heads. the big hippogriff thing was neither scary nor endearing. fucking watch how to train your dragon next time. and dark crystal! (jim henson and frank oz made fizzgig in a cave!!! with a box of scraps!!!) honestly you're better off going the star trek tos route and giving your sister in law who made the costumes for the church christmas pageant twenty bucks and a ride to joann's to make an alien hat for your golden retriever and call it a space horse. than this lazy ass low effort cgi. shame on you. okay now I'm done

Okay, no wait, I got a great idea for a Nu Trek Voyager novel. While serving as admiral on the Voyager-A (while looking for Chakotay) Janeway gets isekai’d into a dark parallel universe version of the original Voyager. This crew of Voyager is still stuck in the Delta quadrant years after Janeway got her crew home. The crew seems mostly intact, haggard and dirty and hungry though they may be, with the very notable exception of this Voyager’s Kathryn Janeway.
She tries to explain that she doesn’t belong here but they don’t seem to hear her, after helping out during a alien attack a crewman acknowledges that they know she’s not their original Kathryn Janeway (though they’re all happy to call her captain). Their Janeway died 18 months ago and the crew has grown desperate over that time to revive her. Her arrival on this ship was no accident and is in fact the latest effort to retrieve their Captain. They figured with infinite universes there had to be one where a Janeway was in search of a Voyager.
Overtime Janeway comes to realize that despite subtle differences this universe’s version of her old crew isn’t as unlike or as dark as she originally thought. They are very much like the crew she brought home and they are, importantly, still together. On the original trip through the Delta Janeway never stopped to consider that getting home would be a tragedy for the family they built on Voyager. She misses this, she misses them the way they were and for a moment she seems tempted to stay but ultimately the story is about helping this crew move on from their Janeway’s death and in turn she mourns and starts to accept the loss of her Voyager family the way it was before they got home.
Eventually the crew and Janeway work together through some dangerous nonsense to get her back to her own universe. All this time the crew has referred to her as nothing but captain or Kathryn but as she dematerializes on the bridge of the original Voyager Chakotay says “thank you, Admiral”
THE END
Edit: WAIT. It takes place when Janeway is looking for Chakotay and she’s starting to worry that she may not find him so that she’s actually tempted to stay. Like obviously she wouldn’t because I’m proposing this as a Nu Trek novel and that’s obviously not something anyone’s going to be worried could actually happen but it gives her a chance to accept possibly losing Chakotay forever and that’s a good character moment to have. She needs to accept that before she can get this other Voyager to accept having lost their Janeway.

Season 3 of the Bad Batch has been amazing so far, but at least every five minutes when I’m watching an episode I get choked up remembering Tech is dead.

I love how strong and passionate the star trek fandom is. It actually makes me want to watch the show. Like why are there so many of y'all? Why have you been here for *so* long? There must be a reason and the answers must be in the show
