Why subway tickets? Because, as my pals Frenchies know, the price of Paris subway tickets reached a whopping €4 this summer for the 2024 Olympics! 🙃 Something-something about leaving seats for tourists

Found in the draft for my one-page duet role-playing game, I... I can explain everything!

At some point, you could have a stowaway passenger in your luggage, as an option for a 3rd player. That wouldn't have fit on 1 sheet of paper, though. Instead, I decided there could be 2 travellers or 2 customs officer at once

What does that game look like, then, you ask? Can we not play a noodly purple little guy any more?

Sure, you can! But that was only a scribble ^^ Let me rather tell you about the stories this game can tell.

See, in this game, you role-play a dialogue between the customs officer from a small country and a traveller. The Traveller wishes to go over the border with their luggage. The Officer cannot let them, but the Traveller finds a way!

In short, it's a worldbuilding game, where you discover a country through its wacky laws and regulations.

Exploration & Investigation game for a team of 2 or more

Members of the Fay Authority of Yards (FAY), put on your shoes! 

This 1-page game takes you outside, where there are plants, birds, insects… Keep an eye out for neat trees, cool rocks, or wise lizards. They will be your clues to find the humans spirited away by wayward waylayer weeds!

What is a  “waylayer weed”? A waylayer weed*, called in French folklore “herbe d’égarement”, or “Irrkraut” in German-speaking countries, is a plant said to lead astray those who step on it. Its victims may be right next to their home, but will never reach it, unless they step on the same plant again.

*The name “waylayer weed” is my own translation.

The Duchy of Clarmonda has only one Customs Office, but ever-changing laws.

Are chickpeas imports forbidden? It could be allowed next week, while alpaca yarn gets banned! And now, only two pairs of socks can transit duty-free!

In this game, you will role-play a dialogue between the customs officer from a small country and a traveller.

Playtests have involved : out-of-date tourist guides — “our team isn't the Chainmail-Clad-Lads any more, but the Chainmail-Clad-Squad” —moral concerns about mirrors — “this country has a vanity problem” — unpractical clothing — “serial strangler on the loose, please refrain from wearing a scarf”…

Available as a C-fold pamphlet for print, a linear paged version for digital use, and a text-only HTML file with semantic markup.
