Claim: Did Mahmoud Khalil hire an "American-looking" woman to pose as his wife?
Veridct: False conspiracy theory bullshit. Obviously.
Weird racists, of both the Netanyahu & Trump supporter variety, are trying to discredit the outrage around Khalil by claiming that he hired a "fake wife" who looked "more American" to appear at a press conference.
Obviously, this isn't true. Notably, every post about this uses exclusively images - even though the original tweet is a video. And if we watch the video...

...it's his lawyer. Of course it is. The entire framing is nonsense that only works if you're also a weird racist creep, bc what does "Western-looking" even mean?
Now, whoever first shared this knew that - they had to, in order to get the right screencap to lie about its contents. They seized on an admittedly poorly written tweet that included a quote from his wife over a video of his lawyer without making it clear it was the lawyer saying it, making it easy for them to spin a story to gullible conspiracy types about how it's a different woman (I looked up the original post's author, and he is a crypto & Epstein list guy, since that is the only type of guy left on Twitter no matter what else they support). His tweet was copied by "Open Source Intelligence" accounts (if you're only familiar with OSINT from outlets like Bellingcat, it's been a trend that social media platforms, from Twitter to Bluesky, are being flooded by "OSINT" accounts that...just share news videos they see) and spread further, and now it's the crux of the argument of some weird crisis actor conspiracy theory
But it takes about thirty seconds to look up this video & see the immediate caption explaining that she's a lawyer...you know, if you want to do anything but believe it unthinkingly, and hold up that it's Very Suspicious when multiple women stand adjacent to a man at different times, or when women refer to him in a press conference

Claim: You can tell which products are Israeli made by their barcodes beginning with 729.
Verdict: False.
The 729 barcode prefix does represent Israel. But it doesn't mean it was made in Israel, or by an Israeli company, just who allocated the barcode, which could be at any line in the process, i.e. if goods in one country are to be sold in another country they'd have that country's barcode. Additionally, retail barcodes can be sold, so companies with no connection to Israel might own 729 barcodes.
This means that products made in Israel might end up with non-729 barcodes due to distribution/supply reasons, and products with no connection to Israel may have 729 barcodes, making barcodes essentially useless as a way of determining where something is from; a "MADE IN [country]" message is more reliable.
swedish-specific resources for palestinian local activism. please do share.
Israel i Eurovision song contest

BSD i Sverige

They're still at it apparently
In this video, which will supposedly "make you question everything", we see a man applying bandages and fake blood to a child, who doesn't seem to be in distress...
We also see equipment all around...
The man brings people dressed as soldiers over to the child, and points all around while holding a camera, almost like he's directing their activities.
Wait, what's this? Oh right: this is the full video, posted openly to TikTok in 2022. Because directing is exactly what this is: it's a behind-the-scenes of a film being made. Arabic speakers assure everyone they're not even speaking Palestinian Arabic in this video; indeed, this video is from Iraq. Whoever uploaded it to Twitter cropped it short to cut out the parts where it's very clearly a film director setting up a shot (I've seen people identify it as the film Mosul, but as that was released in 2019 and this video was posted in 2022, I'm not sure)
This is something that's happened repeatedly: in the OP, a content creator appearing in livestreams and music videos was cited as proof of a false flag. Repeatedly, they've cited media being made in Palestine as evidence of a conspiracy - and often, media not made in Palestine, like the Iraqi film here or the Thai Halloween costume in the OP.
It's tempting to laugh at this as stupidity, but there's something darker underneath it. They never admit fault, bc in their mind they've done nothing wrong, since they sincerely believe all Palestinian art is Hamas propaganda. They don't fail to note that Saleh Aljafarawi is a content creator doing livestreams and music videos: they just think those livestreams and music videos are inherently propaganda and that nothing created by Palestinians (or random foreigners they've mistaken for Palestinians bc they're deeply racist and xenophobic people) can be anything but propaganda against Israel, which you can't trust, unlike the carefully cropped content on Stand With Israel dot TikTok dot com which is beyond reproach for honesty apparently

Something unremittingly bleak about a goddamn country starting "crisis actor" conspiracy theories to deny their crimes. A term invented to deny the deaths of children at Sandy Hook in 2012 is now used to deny the deaths of children in Gaza in 2023.
As the community note says, this isn't a crisis actor. This is a guy who posts on Instagram. A influencer who posts videos online of breaking events...is seen at a lot of breaking events. To Israel, this is a sign of a conspiracy. In fact, some of those images aren't even him, or aren't even related to Palestine at all; one image included in other posts targeting Saleh Aljafarawi is a Halloween costume from Thailand. That article says "pro-Israeli accounts" tweeted this, but it's the literal, official Twitter account of Israel posting this shit, next to their comedy sketches that somehow make trans people the punchline bc fascists only have one joke the whole world wide I guess
Like. It's not new for a government to deny the reality of its atrocities. It is new for that government to outright use a conspiracy theory term devised by Alex fucking Jones, or to, when called on doing so, defend it as a "meme" (also bizarre to see hardcore Zionists use a term crafted for especially antisemitic conspiracy theories). Everything rancid about the world in 2023 congealed into a single tweet, right here

Fascinated by conspiracy accounts (one of the biggest) misreading the Taylor Swift situation this badly
So in their eyes Taylor Swift sold her music rights to George Soros, and now she's TIME's Person of the Year, which "doesn't come cheap". Ahuh.
Yeah man, Taylor Swift losing the rights to her own songs, famously a thing she did willingly and wasn't extremely outraged about. I don't even listen to Taylor and I know what "(Taylor's Version)" means
Also, he didn't expose anything! Taylor Swift herself spoke about a Soros buying her music rights in 2020! And it wasn't George Soros, it was his adult son Alex, who's best buds with Scooter Braun. This isn't a conspiracy he unraveled. It's a shitty rich kid engaging in thoroughly routine shitty rich kid behavior with his friends. George Soros isn't involved in any way and may not even know about it since it's all through Alex's company, and Alex Soros doesn't even own the recordings in full, he just invested in Braun's purchase of them. This was all widely documented three years ago!
Anyway this originates with Laura Loomer, who asked: did she get the rights to her music back in exchange for...a get out the vote campaign?
Taylor Swift is the most popular entertainer in the world. Everyone knows about this. Except for conservatives who are confused.
Their smoking gun: she has to have the rights to her music back if she's doing old songs on the Eras tour! Checkmate liberals!!!
*deep sigh* They bought the rights to her masters. This is why she's rerecording her albums! Who doesn't know this??? I'd rather they be lying than they just genuinely believe this but their followers are eating this the fuck up. Wow. Just wow

#i didnt know that crisis actoes where coined by alex jones #i knew he started the conspiracy theory but thought it was already a thing :0 #but yea #pallywood too if you want to read up on it
Yeah, the term "crisis actor" was originally, and is still, used for people who play the role of victims in disaster drills. The people who, like, pretend to be someone buried in rubble after a earthquake in tests of earthquake rescue teams
It was misappropriated for conspiracy theories after Sandy Hook, originally by someone named James Tracy, but Alex Jones leapt on it p. early. Tracy was claiming that they were using the same agency that provides actors for emergency drills, everyone from Jones on just said they were government plants etc.
And yeah, Pallywood is a classic false flag conspiracy theory. One they're merging with American theories about mass shootings, now

Something unremittingly bleak about a goddamn country starting "crisis actor" conspiracy theories to deny their crimes. A term invented to deny the deaths of children at Sandy Hook in 2012 is now used to deny the deaths of children in Gaza in 2023.

That AI-generated art of a Pixar woman being followed by the ghosts of aborted children is embarrassing on every possible level, but I think my fave is how the OP denies they're anti-abortion
They didn't caption it...it could be about anything. Where did anyone get the idea it was about abortion? That's up to your interpretation
Anyway, EVERY OTHER COMMENT they left on it looks like this
"The leftists are accusing me of being anti-abortion again for making literally hundreds of comments about how I much I hate abortion! What ever happened to, civil discussion,"
These comments were all before the statement denying they exist. They're right there. How could you think you could get away with lying about it.

It's funny how in any other circumstance, this would be like, the ideal Laugh At College Leftists story. It's Cal Berkley students cultishly celebrating someone who's done drastic acts of harassment and stalking on the basis of identity: that she's from an oppressed class and he's not so it's...impossible for her to stalk/harass him, apparently? She must be telling the truth about the hacking, even though her evidence is "after I texted someone about trucks, he also tweeted about trucks, so clearly he's hacking me"? And that she's too good a professor of colonial studies to be suspended for repeatedly violating a restraining order
But bc conservatives want to frame it all in terms of Israel/Palestine they're ignoring all that entirely
So there was a protest at a college football game this weekend & it's going around everywhere as a pro-Palestinian protest, both positively and negatively, but bizarrely, it was actually a bunch of students protesting their professor being suspended for stalking another professor? For writing messages on his mother's house and keying his car??? Over entirely unproven allegations of hacking and the other professor tweeting similar things to her?
They're trying to spin the other professor as conservative even though he said this?
It's weird seeing people claim this or decry it as a political statement when it's. Something far more insular and weird

The local news and conservative news ecosystem (largely the same thing by now tbh) requires a Evil Foreigner at all times & they just slot them in and out. Local news replaced scare stories about migrants coming over the border with scare stories claiming Hamas might attack from Mexico. Like, en masse. You might think "wait, no part of that makes the slightest bit of sense", but too late, they're off telling your aunt that Hamas definitely has sprawling training camps at their secret base in Mexico

I thought the Stonewall thing was the dumbest Community Note, but "it's impossible that this church was bombed because it wasn't bombed a week ago" takes the cake
It's been removed now but enough people looked at that and went, "yeah, it wasn't bombed before the bombings started so it can't be bombed now, checks out"
(apparently the church itself wasn't destroyed but related buildings on the campus were)

The explanation doesn't even make sense. Why would the billboard have word associations for colors? Do they know the advertisers send them what they want to be on there. Do they think the colors are filled in on the billboard's end? Well, they believe whatever they're told, and whatever they need to believe, and never look deeper
Claim: Did a electronic billboard in New York accidentally display "Glory to Urine" instead of "Glory to Ukraine"?
Verdict: Of course it fucking didn't False
Today in Russian ops, this bullshit:
That's a video, not a image. This is spreading like wildfire among the MAGA set:
The MAGA set, of course, find urine uproariously funny, and the explanation that the billboard "associated the color yellow with urine" convincing, even though that's not how anything works what the fuck
Truth is, this is not only a fake, but a outdated fake: the footage is from about a year ago. This intersection now has a McDonald's in the corner, and the scaffolding kitty-corner to that is gone, replaced with a pizza place. Multiple videos taken today confirm this
These people also cancelled the Paw Patrol today for having a non-binary character, and they might run the country in a year. Claim: is this Hell? Verdict: uncertain but possible
