hi everyone! asexuals, i need your help!!

hi y’all! its been forever since i’ve posted here, and i’m so sorry for that. i made this account when i was homebound and dealing with becoming disabled as a teenager, and the community you gave me got me through some very tough times. as i came out of that period of my life, still disabled but i went to therapy and tried meds and many other things that improved my life, i abandoned this account. it reminds me of a time in my life when i was deeply unhappy, and i am also no longer in the fandom. thank you to everyone who made my life just that little bit better when i was all alone, i truly will never forget it 🩵🩵🩵 (especially @andaleduardo , who i am not sure is even active anymore but was always a great motivation)

as it happens, i have moved on to bigger and better things. i’m an english major in college and working on my first novel! it’s about a t4t couple discovering that their identities do not make them unloveable. one is ace and one is disabled. this book will be a love letter to all those communities who feel othered by society, who feel like they’ll never find true love.

as a disabled trans person, i have most of my bases covered. but i am not asexual. i would love to have an ace person’s input to make sure i do this community and identity justice in my writing. i am looking especially for people who are both trans and ace who would be willing to share how those identities intersect and what their experience is. i will value any input you have as i have no experience with this identity. if you’re ace and trans, or even ace and cis, please reach out! i would love to ask you a few questions! thank you so much!!

Whippies corresponds so nicely with run me through when you think about it. Here you have two instances in which Ed asks another man (notably, someone he is/was sexually interested in) to hurt him, and gets two entirely different responses. Jack is careless, impulsive, and wholly unconcerned about consequences; Stede is hesitant, cautious, and terribly worried about causing harm. And Ed’s responses to them - his real and unfunny pain with Jack vs. the petite mort expression when he‘s in Stede‘s arms - illustrate just how badly he yearns for someone who’ll make love to him instead of just treating him as another dalliance. All those scars on the left side of his body are like grotesque little kisses, the ghosts of all the men who had ‘stabbed’ him before Stede, who had hurt him in that tender bit of flesh where he tells himself there wasn’t anything important anyway. Because when you get down to it, Ed’s entire understanding of love revolves around pain; around plates smashed against the wall and his mother’s slapped face; around becoming a monster so that his father could never hurt her like that again; so that Ed couldn’t ever be hurt like that, either. That’s what the Kraken is, really: the darkness that grows inside us in the absence of love.

the whole idea of “stay in school!!!!” is great and all but hard to hear when you’re someone who couldn’t stay in school

so here’s a post for every person who’s had to drop out of school. whether it was do to illness or money or just because you didn’t want to be there, you’re no less of a person for dropping out. you own your own life, and you’re just as important as people who were able to graduate

i know all eyes are on the presidential candidates for this election, and rightfully so, but some very wonderful and important things are happening statewide that should be celebrated and highlighted, so here’s a few:

Florida passed Amendment 2, which will raise minimum wage to $15/hour by 2026

South Dakota, Montana, Arizona and New Jersey all passed an amendment that legalized marijuana 

Utah will now be removing gendered language in the Utah Constitution and will replace it with gender-neutral language

California passed Prop 17, which restores voting rights to previously imprisoned citizens

Delaware elected the first ever openly trans state senator

Ritchie Torres and Mondaire Jones are the first ever openly gay black members of congress

Cori Bush is the first ever woman of color to win a seat in Congress in Missouri

Mauree Turner became the first non-binary state lawmaker in America and the first Muslim member of the Oklahoma state house

Oregon has become the first state to decriminalize all drugs (small amounts of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs will have lesser punishments, similar to traffic tickets, and no jail time.)

Kim Jackson is the first out LGBTQ+ state senator in Georgia

Please, people currently freaking out about the numbers, you have to try to calm yourselves down (myself included) if you don't, you are playing into Trump's plan to disenfranchise mail-in voters.

The election is NOT going to be decided tonight! No matter what the media is trying to push.

Mail in votes count as legitimate votes, and it might take until Friday or beyond to count most of them!

richie and eddie both worked the polls and voted for biden. they’re engaged and don’t want to lose the right to vote before they can actually do it.

bev organizes protests and marches and fights for equal rights, she hates trump and voted biden.

mike isn’t very active in politics but he’s very passionate about the black lives matter movement and he definitely voted for biden.

bill is a straight white man who doesn’t realize his friend’s rights are being taken away. he doesn’t like either of them so he doesn’t vote.

ben is always right by bev’s side, fighting with her. he voted biden.

stan hates politics but he votes biden. he sees how his friends are being negatively effected and he wants them to live in a world that will accept them.

Mike loves showing his friends all the animals around the farm. After all, they were his only friends before the Losers and Mike has a name for every single animal.

He loves riding his bike around town, going nowhere and just enjoying his friends’ presences.

Although he’s terrified of birds, he can’t get enough of Stan’s excited expressions when he spots a particularly rare bird or a new bird he’s never seen before.

Sleepovers are always so much fun with the Losers. They always play games and watch movies and talk until early in the morning.

Mike and Ben absolutely love history documentaries. They watch so many of them.

Stan is terrified of horror movies and always hides behind Mike, which is the only reason Mike likes them.
