(Español abajo) It's over! After #training for more than four months for this race, last Sunday I sprained my ankle and wasn't able to walk properly for several days. Obviously, I feared I wouldn't be able to join the #race. Last night I did a short-easy run to test the waters and though it wasn't great, I felt I could run. So I bought an ankle supporter and raced today. To my surprise I felt strong and ended up finishing my first official #HalfMarathon beating by more than 20 minutes the time I had during training. Of course, the lack of movement this week means that my muscles are very #sore now and the ankle is swollen again. However, I can focus on recovery from here. Considering that I ran my first #5k just a few months ago, I'm happy with the progress I've achieved and I am already thinking of the next challenge 😉 https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2290224602?share_unique_id=2 ¡Por fin! Tras más de cuatro meses de entrenamiento para esta carrera, el domingo pasado me torcí el tobillo y no pude caminar bien por varios días. Lógicamente, supuse que no podría #correr pero anoche me decidí a hacer una #trotada corta y fácil. Aunque no me sentí genial, pude correr. Así que me compré un soporte para el tobillo y decidí participar en el evento. Para mi sorpresa, hoy me sentí relativamente bien y terminé mi #primeraMediaMaratón con una ventaja de más de veinte minutos contra el tiempo que logré en entrenamiento. Obviamente, la falta de movimiento esta semana me puso los músculos muy adoloridos y el tobillo se me inflamó otra vez. Sin embargo, de aquí ya me puedo enfocar en la recuperación. Super proud of myself. I broke a barrier and established a new personal record⌚ A couple months ago it would have been impossible but today I was able to run a #10k under an hour 🏃 It was hard and I had to wake up at 4am 🌒 to escape the scorching Okinawa heat, but it is done! / Muy orgulloso de mí. Today I ran my farthest, 14km! And even though I had to stop to drink from a fountain, I still broke my previous #10k record. Now, without a doubt it was the hardest run I've had up to this point. But as I keep training for the upcoming #HalfMarathon I am still waiting for the #runnersHigh, if anything today after running I experienced #runnersLow 😅 / Hoy batí mi récord de distancia, ¡14km! Y aunque tuve que detenerme a beber en una fuente, aun así rompí mi récord anterior de #10km. Sin duda alguna fue la carrera más pesada que he hecho hasta ahora.
