Seven Sentence (it's not) Sunday

Have had a hard couple of days between irl stuff including various assessments, and I've been busy working on August Whump that I can't share, so here, have something from a tentatively drafted chapter of Shenanakins, which always cheers me up to write!

“Anakin?”  The tooka began to purr.  Obi-Wan ran a hand over his beard. It was not beyond the realm of possibility, Anakin changing into an animal. Force knew he changed into his cassius form regularly enough, if only now to annoy Obi-Wan with the fur he shed around the apartment. But a tooka?  He crouched beside it and slowly stretched out a hand towards it.

thanks for the tag, Mouse! this is from the first chapter of my longest WIP, and i hope to get the first 2 chapters out by the end of August!

There’s no time for stealth, and Anakin is glad for it. He’s never had the patience for that sort of thing, much preferring to kick down the doors and storm in guns-blazing, basking in the thrill of defeating impossible odds. The engine of his starfighter pulses like a heartbeat, and the familiar buzzing anticipation settles deep into his bones as he descends into Bracca’s stormy atmosphere. Rex’s own fighter trails closely behind, followed by the eleven clones who agreed to join him—barely more than a squad, but enough to do the job. The chance that thirteen starfighters have against the firepower of a maximum-security prison is laughably small, and that’s exactly where Anakin likes it.

They break through the stormclouds, and the scrapyard stretches into Anakin’s peripheral, filling his vision with the muddy wasteland, strewn with the carcasses of defunct cruisers and a massive network of scaffolding. He angles away from the blinking lights of the city to his left and veers towards the mountains darkening the distant edge of the plain, where the wreckage thins out and towards the dark walls encircling a cluster of jagged spires.

“We’re in range of their turrets,” he announces, fingers dancing across the controls. “Follow my lead.”

nothing really matters to me

writing fanfiction is just. i’m being so creative and original. i’m plagiarizing everyone by accident. i’m a genius. i’m cringe. i’m too angsty. i’m too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesn’t matter that it’s not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. i’m seeking validation. i’m projecting my own personal problems onto this story and i’m barely hiding it. i know so many words and i’m using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.
