Hey, fellow geeks and half-nerds! You won't believe the epic time I had at ACGHK 2023! It was like stepping into the pages of my favorite manga and diving headfirst into a world of toys, games, cosplayers, and pure geeky goodness!

First things first, let's talk about the cosplayers! These folks are real-life superheroes, rocking their elaborate costumes with passion and dedication. From One Piece to classic superheroes, the creativity was out of this world! I couldn't resist taking selfies with them and even joined a few pose-offs! Trust me, I felt like a character straight out of my manga fantasy!

And speaking of manga, the exhibit hall was a treasure trove of all things anime and comics! I spent hours browsing through shelves filled with rare manga editions and collectibles. My inner geek was in seventh heaven! Oh, and the merch? Let's just say my wallet's crying a little, but it was totally worth it!

Now, let's get to the heart of it all - the GAMES! 🎮🎉 I played unreleased titles and joined in on the gaming tournaments. The adrenaline rush was real! The competitive spirit in the air had me cheering for my favorite players, feeling like a true gamer at heart.

But wait, the fun doesn't end there! The toy section was like stepping into a kid's dreamland! From action figures to plushies, I had a blast geeking out and adding some new members to my toy collection!

ACGHK 2023 was an adventure I'll never forget! The geeky camaraderie, the excitement of discovering new manga, and the joy of gaming all day long - it's the stuff dreams are made of! If you're a fellow geek, mark your calendars for the next ACGHK event! You won't want to miss out on this wild ride!

A Monochromatic Glimpse of Hong Kong: Tsim Tsa Tsui Ferry

It's been months the last time I visited this place. I reckon I was here to celebrate Christmas alone last 2021, the era of facemask while we were engulfed with the warmth of Corona virus and embracing the system of "new normal". Last Saturday, I was here for my medical exam and as usual, bringing my old buddy with me, we also went out for a walk and tried to look things in black and white through her lens. Just a compilation of our little adventure under the scorching heat of the sun before I succumbed in a week of overwhelmed pressure, work, stress and disheartened soul.

Wanchai Walk & Fujifilm AX10 Capture: July 1st 2023

Embarking on a walk through the bustling streets of Wanchai, armed with my trusty Fujifilm AX10 mirrorless camera, I was immediately struck by the vibrant energy and diversity of this neighborhood. As I strolled through the streets, I couldn't help but notice how Wanchai has transformed over the years. In the past, Wanchai was a humble district filled with "urban commons," where people from all walks of life could freely utilize the streets, sidewalks, and rooftops. However, the rapid modernization of Hong Kong has led to the enclosure and development of many of these once-common spaces. Despite these changes, the spirit of Wanchai still shines through in its street markets that continue to thrive. These markets are a defining characteristic of Wanchai and offer a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of this neighborhood. While capturing the essence of Wanchai with my Fujifilm AX10 mirrorless camera, I was able to document the juxtaposition of old and new, the blending of traditional and modern elements. The vibrant colors of the street food stalls, the hustle and bustle of vendors and passersby, and the intricate details of architectural landmarks all came to life through the lens of my camera. It is evident that Wanchai has undergone significant economic restructuring, evolving from a poor inner-city neighborhood into an extended part of the central business district.

The Dragon Boat Festival is nothing short of awe-inspiring! From the colorful boats to the thunderous drumbeats, there's always something to marvel at!

Last July 22, we celebrated this spectacular and thrilling event at the stunning Stanley Beach in Hongkong. This festival has been affected by the city's harsh measures from the prevention of Corona virus - social restrictions, events being postponed or banned and people staying home during those dark times. But last Thursday, the atmosphere was electric, and it was great to see everyone come together for some healthy competition and loads of fun.

When I was young, I view sunset as an indicator that my day was done and I didn't want it yet since I feel like my time spent wasn't enough to enjoy the long day. Now that I became an adult, I see the sun setting as lonesome beauty. I can go now and play as much as the night allows me to. I can let down tears of frustration, and isolate as much as the dark space gives me. I can jump to virtual reality and see if the false identity can ease me.

Spending 86 days in the Philippines of travel, reconnection, and love made me shoot the sunset again. It's not that bad after all if you are beside with people that treats you as a whole.

The horizon keeps calling me to go. Where and when, we don't know. From Zambales to MOA seaside back to Philippines' air space with love.

Museo ng Pag-Asa houses the people's campaign during the electoral period where Leni Robredo run for presidential election. On their page, they mentioned that all of the people's hope, love and creativity continues to inspire their work and most of what they received - gifts and tokens, represents their hometowns and cities.

This place has always been in my bucket list and I made it a point that I will spend time to visit. It reignited the flame that I lost years and months ago as I walked to see the people of the Pink Revolution, as it was called during the campaign where millions believed on one Leni Robredo. It is indeed a memorable experience and will now be part of my core memories of time spent in the Philippines.

I am thankful to Christian who helped me navigate the place as I am really no good with directions and spend time to accompany me on the day of visit, and to the staffs who spread warmth and welcomed us with all smile. It is not dead yet. What Leni started already ignited a spark to all of us,

I was late for the golden hour doing whatnots but the scene is still a wow. On my 71th day in the Philippines, I stayed in Manila for 3D2N with the aim to see the golden hour on the 1st day but instead, I had a good long walk at Roxas boulevard with a good company. The last time I saw this part of Manila was 16 years ago, I believe I was im college. 6 years working in production companies and 10 years abroad.
