Day 4: Blue and Gold. Those deep shades of gold Staring brightly through the glass. And I could be yours to hold, If only you'd ask. So nevermind the tea leaves, You don't have to say please; I won't hold back. So give us time, just stay for a night; Blue skies turn into starry light. There's no need to brush those leaves from your dress; I think you look your best. Grass stains on my denim jeans, But nothing's perfect; I know you're worth it.

Day 3: Electricity. You're my electricity, And I'd like to feel you closer to me. You could show me the ropes tonight; With you I'd leave my heart and my hands tied.  You could teach me your language, Show me a verb or two. Give me your fingertips, And let me press my lips Against all those words you like to use.

Day 2: Sheltered Bones.  Shelter these bones, Leave my dust alone. I'm shedding skin like wax, Like wood beneath the axe. Would you call my situation a heart attack? Will you keep my pieces, or will you give them back?

Light-ways and Dark-things by Jimi Brady. “I stayed in New Orleans for over a month with my wonderful girlfriend, Amanda, and I whilst there I borrowed her roommate’s ukulele (thanks, Tina!). I wrote this song and played it in the French Quarter one night. The song is not finished, so what you’ll see and hear is what I intend for the song to sound like, but this is not the final version. I mostly just improvised my various ideas between the verses. In any case, I like the way this one turned out, mistakes and all. And, as always, a huge thank-you to my girlfriend for filming!

The lyrics are a poem that I wrote by the same name. Towards the five minute mark I stomp my foot suddenly - I was trying to kill a roach that was making its way towards my bag. :)”

Benighted (unplugged) by Opeth.  I'm surprised by how good the quality of this video is. This is a beautiful track off of Opeth's Still Life album, and as far as I can remember, their first or second full-length acoustic track (though it has an electric guitar solo towards the end) (and I think Credence is entirely acoustic).  This song is depressing, and it's the chapter of the story where the main character asks Melinda to visit him in secrecy, despite the fact that she's betrothed to another. If you want a good concept album (and you're a fan of progressive death metal with softer moments like this song), definitely give Still Life a listen.  Follow for more acoustic music!
