Today, Netflix concluded the promotional tour for Squid Game. Most of the cast said their goodbyes in this video that brought me to tears.
For four years, this project kept us hooked with every episode, rumor, theory, and piece of news. Hwang Dong-hyuk did an outstanding job as both director and writer.
It makes me sad to think that, with this final farewell from the cast, people might start to forget about Squid Game. New shows and movies will come, but I will always hold onto hope that the Squid Game universe will be expanded—and that one day, we’ll get a spin-off about Jun-ho and In-ho.

Netflix gave us a farewell that filled me with so many emotions. I was moved to see what Netflix prepared to say goodbye to Squid Game, but it feels bittersweet.
How do you say goodbye forever to such an incredible story?
This series literally saved my life—it pulled me out of a dark place. And now, with almost a month since the finale premiered and everything wrapping up, I just wish Director Hwang Dong-hyuk would give us a spin-off.
:( I know many people don’t like when franchises are extended through spin-offs, but I do want more stories from the Squid Game universe to be told.

I know Director Hwang is exhausted and probably doesn't want to hear anything about Squid Game for now, but I sincerely hope he doesn't forget to give Jun-ho and In-ho a proper conclusion.
The two brothers have great potential for a series that combines In-ho's past in the games with Jun-ho’s present as a single father to baby 222.
Many people say it's fine that the series only had three seasons, but let’s be honest — Jun-ho and In-ho’s story still has so much to explore, as does the history of the games.
If Squid Game is the most-watched series of the year, I hope Netflix stops beating around the bush and convinces Director Hwang Dong-hyuk to make a spin-off.

It was just another night—one of many in which In-ho took Gi-hun as if he were nothing more than a piece of meat to satisfy his fantasies.
Player 456 had become nothing but the Frontman’s whim. He pulled him out of the games, and ever since, he hadn’t stopped taking him again and again.
Gi-hun enjoyed it; he never imagined that behind the facade of playing dalgona, ddakji, red light green light, and other childish games, there was a man who would become so obsessed with him—obsessed to the point of savoring his moans between kisses.
In-ho’s plan was simple: to have Gi-hun give him heirs and secure the future of the Squid Game organization.

¡Welcome to the set!
The NHK studio, located in the heart of Seoul, was bustling with employees preparing for each production—each one designed to draw crowds into movie theaters.
It was 9:00 a.m. when Hwang In-ho, the acclaimed film and television heartthrob, arrived on the set of his upcoming film Wind and Stars, a romance about two boys escaping the constraints of a strict Korean society.
In-ho was only 22, and he had already seen and experienced everything expected of a major star in the entertainment industry. He had traveled to the United States, worked with stars like Demi Moore, and kissed sensual icons such as Scarlett Johansson and Catherine Zeta-Jones. His enviable fortune allowed his younger brother, Jun-ho, just 13 years old, and his stepmother, Park Mal-Soom, to live without worry.
— Mr. Hwang, we’ve set up your favorite snacks at the catering table, a private dressing room is ready, and your co-star is the rising talent Lee Myung-gi. He’s very handsome and professional.
In-ho sighed. He was dizzy from all the formalities. He just wanted to start filming already, but his manager wouldn’t stop talking.
In-ho walked over to the catering table. He was looking for spicy shrimp chips.
— No shrimp chips? I asked for them specifically on my list — he demanded, his bratty tone making everyone on set nervous. No one wanted to upset the star.
His manager, Oh Il Nam, placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm his temper.
— Take it easy, In-ho. You know I don’t like it when you eat junk food anyway.
In-ho was about to argue, but a young male voice, mouth clearly full, interrupted them.
In-ho was about to argue, but a young male voice, mouth clearly full, interrupted them.
— Oh, sorry. I took the last bag. I thought the catering was for everyone.
The guy was tall and slim, wearing a cropped shirt that showed off his well-toned waist and abs. He had just opened the bag of chips.
Hey, kid, the catering is for actors, not for cable pullers — said Il Nam, scolding the boy.
— Sir, I’m not a cable puller. I’m an actor. I was called in for a couple of scenes in The Movie of Wind and Stars. Besides, sharing a bag of chips won’t starve him — the young man replied, pointing at In-ho.
In-ho fell silent. No one spoke to Oh Il Nam like that—no one who wanted to keep their career safe, anyway. But that bold guy who had stolen his chips was speaking as if he were their equal.
— Arrogant brat! You’re only doing two scenes. In-ho is the star! Do you really think you can talk to us like that?
— Come on, Il Nam — In-ho cut in with a lazy smile — the kid’s skin and bones. Let him have the chips. Why don’t we go check my wardrobe?
— Don’t worry, I just opened the bag — the young man said coolly. He took In-ho’s hand without hesitation and handed him the bag of chips. Crumbs lined his lips, his hair was messy, and his attitude was carefree yet defiant. He was nothing like the polished, delicate professionals In-ho was used to working with.
He could have rejected the bag—that would’ve been the “correct” thing to do—but instead, In-ho gladly accepted it. He smiled at the stranger.
— Well, I guess we all have work to do — the guy added, brushing off the crumbs with his fingers. — I’m gonna go find my friend to rehearse our lines.
And he walked off, leaving behind an awkward and mysterious silence.
Il Nam didn’t take long to grumble again.
— Throw that bag away, In-ho. Eat some fresh fruit — he muttered, annoyed.
— Nope. I’m eating this and then going to check my wardrobe — In-ho replied with a defiant grin, popping a chip into his mouth and walking away looking far more relaxed.
— You idiot, Gi-hun! How could you pick a fight with Hwang In-ho and, more importantly, with his manager, Il Nam? That damn old man could blacklist you internationally! You’d be back to serving lattes at that crappy café you hate! — shouted Young-bae, his best friend, completely freaked out after Gi-hun told him about the incident.
— Don’t be ridiculous. Besides, that guy had no right to throw a tantrum over some chips. What adult even does that? — Gi-hun scoffed, arms crossed.
— An adult with over a hundred million dollars to his name at just 22. How much do you have in your bank account? — Young-bae snapped with sharp sarcasm.
— Well, let’s see. After deducting the bread you’re eating, the cab this morning, and the coffee I’m holding, I’ve got ten thousand won — Gi-hun answered without an ounce of shame.
— See?! You don’t even have enough for food for the week and you’re picking fights with the big shots!
— That’s enough, Young-bae. I film my two scenes tomorrow. They offered me 200,000 won and meals. We’ll figure it out after that.
— I hate that we’re still living with your mom. Aren’t you embarrassed? I am!
— Cut it out with the complaints. I’m the actor, you work at the café. We’re getting by, just like always.
Gi-hun and Young-bae left the studio, heading to Mrs. Seong’s house, certain that something delicious was already cooking on the stove. Meanwhile, inside the star’s dressing room, In-ho was trying on the wardrobe for his new film: a tailored black suit, so flawless it made him look like he had stepped out of a dream—like the desire of every man and woman on Earth.
— Look at you, In-ho. That’s why you’re considered one of the most beautiful men on the planet. How do you feel? — asked Il Nam, smiling with fatherly pride.
In-ho curled his lips, unimpressed.
— I feel like a banker’s son. Not impressed.
— You’re saying that because you haven’t started filming seriously yet. But tomorrow, when you meet Lee Myung-gi in person, I’m sure the chemistry between you two will be electric. You’ll feel more comfortable.
But In-ho couldn’t stop thinking about someone else. That audacious boy who handed him the chip bag with crumbs on his lips and spoke to him like he wasn’t a celebrity.
He had heard the guy would only appear in two scenes in the movie… Would he see him again? He hoped so—he wanted to.
Because otherwise, this new round of filming was going to be as boring, bland, and hollow as everything else In-ho had done since coming of age.

It makes me really sad to know that Jun-hee wanted to give her baby a home filled with love and care — the kind she never had with her own parents — but cruel fate took that chance away from her.

Ever since Season 3 came out, I’ve been wondering — what did Oh Il-nam see in In-ho that made him offer him a way out to win the Games?
We know he became the Frontman after losing his wife and baby, but I believe that even before all that, Il-nam saw kindness in him... and great strength.

I really love the third season of Squid Game — the whole series, actually. But with all my heart, I wish director Hwang Dong-hyuk and Netflix would create a spin-off about In-ho — a sequel with flashbacks to the 2015 Games. That’s all I’m asking for: a series that properly wraps up his story and Jun-ho’s as well.

Jun-ho wasn’t even 40 and he was already disgustingly rich—a single father with a life that seemed perfectly sorted, right?
He never touched the money for himself; he only used it for the baby. Her name was Seore.

Gi-hun had given birth to a beautiful baby girl on a November night. Autumn was about to leave, but now he had to carry in his arms the Frontman's daughter — his own flesh and blood. The result of a sick love that was, in truth, more of an obsession on In-ho’s part.

In-ho wasn’t going to let him take his own life—nor would he let him leave the island. He wanted Gi-hun broken enough to make him his, to shatter his soul until he submitted to every fantasy and became his queen. If In-ho was going to be the Frontman for the rest of his days, he wanted a lover by his side—even if it had to be by force.
