When they were young, Jacques and Jacqueline would play duets together on the piano. After she was taken in by the Azorius, she didn’t have lessons anymore. Now the piano is just for Jacques, and the bench is no longer big enough for two. They still try to make it fit anyway.

Inkcap mushroom-themed circle of spores Druid! They weren’t too certain about Jacqueline at first, but she won them over by leaving ego and guild affiliation at the door.

Jacqueline promised to help protect them, and felt terrible when she had to stop volunteering to take a more active role in the massacre girl case… which meant that she wasn’t there when massacre girl actually attacked. ☺️

My buddy wanted to run a combat for a soulslike dnd campaign with some creatures called starspawn grue and the official art was. not correct, vibes-wise. so I threw this together really quickly for him! :) Just a little guy made out of void and nightmares <3

Some outfit and guild swap doodles. Genevieves’ outfit is so impractical and I wanted to draw everybody wearing it. Yuli also drew a doodle of “what if azorius Jacques” so I reciprocated with izzet Jacqueline. I also dredged up a Boros Jacqueline doodle from when I was in my sera feels a bit ago.

1. Very quick silly doodle of Genevieve in Jacqueline’s armor. She can’t move in this. Someone help her. Her spider is on the cloak in place of the badge.

2. Jacqueline in Genevieve’s outfit. “This seems very impractical…? I think it may get in the way of sword swings. And so little protection!”

3. Atticus in Genevieve’s outfit. He canonically wears corsets for fashion purposes so I feel like he would unironically slay in this outfit

4. Jacques in Genevieve’s outfit. “You’ll get cold, sweetie”

5. Adrienne in Genevieve’s outfit. It is actively on fire.

6. Gronk in Genevieve’s outfit. I think this one would also be unironically cute and I will probably finish it later.

7. Jacqueline in her own outfit 😂 she hasn’t worn it a single time in the actual campaign so far, because it keeps being her day off or a fancy party or undercover work

9. “What if Jacqueline stayed in Izzet?” A lot would be different. Jacques would have taught her how to dress herself; she would have picked a support class. I’m thinking college of lore bard. She’s always liked music and i think she could have found a way to connect to the nerdy mathematical side of her family through music, eventually.

Session stuff doodles! Some of this is non canon but all of it is at least related to things that happened in the sessions. We’re having a perfectly normal time in the rakdos cult ❤️🖤

1 and 2: I wanna make an animatic of a bit from our first combat together. Gronk is a pacifist with 0 combat spells so he uses spells very creatively and his decision about how to separate two civilians affected by frenzy gas had the whole table in stitches. Look forward to it.

3. We were invited by Juri to attend a show at the Revue. Jacqueline put on the nicest clothes she owns as a sign of respect. The nicest things she own are in fact her ceremonial officers uniform.

4. Juri sat us down after the show and explained that he could die if he talks to cops about what’s going on in rakdos right now. Jacqueline was mortified. “Oh it’s very subtle, darling”

5. Jacqueline offered Jacques her arm on the way to their first lead on the case, as is her custom, but he rebuffed her. Before she could put her arm away, Genevieve took it instead. Jacqueline was charmed.

6. During the show, Genevieve’s soulsborne-ass paramour showed up on the giant chandelier and looked straight at her and signed to her that she shouldn’t be there. Cool and not creepy at all. A+ choice of romantic partner

7. It’s havoc festival in the rakdos cult right now!On the way to the revue, Jacques and Jacqueline stopped to get their picture taken with someone dressed up as a big scary demon.

8. Vivi’s paramour also gave her a super cursed dagger that she has strapped to her thigh. Gronk saw some Very Odd Magic emanating from Vivi when he cast detect magic at a crime scene, and followed up on it later. In canon, she unstrapped the dagger and handed it to him before he investigated it. In my heart, this is what happened.

9. The party found a secret dungeon in a cultist’s safe house and rescued one of Adrienne’s golgari friends from it. They hadn’t eaten in a few days, so Adrienne shared her rations with them. Nym isn’t sure how they feel about food made out of animals but is game to try anything when they’re starving so much.

10. Also not canon, but during Sera and Jacqueline’s heart to heart, Sera complained that she was doing a lot less demon slaying and a lot more getting pies thrown at her this havoc season than she was expecting. Almost every player character has at least one rakdos clown npc so I very very quickly doodled them all clowning on her.

Jacqueline's mentor, Justiciar Solaine Adaara (and her bonded griffon, Shrike). She's a hussar & eldritch knight fighter who taught Jacqueline everything she knows. Although she's a hardass, she cares about Jacqueline very much and is so, so proud of how far she's come.

Solaine and Shrike reference picture. I spent so long agonizing over Jacqueline's armor and then I was like FUCK IT and rushed Solaine's very fast. It's pretty heavily reffed off of some existing Azorius card art. Her weapon is a big ol retractable lance so she can use it like a sword and also as a ranged weapon while mounted. She's also got a lot of spells, which she casts using the sword as her focus. They kind of start in the middle of the empty circle in the triangle bit and emanate outward. It looks very cool in my head. Her griffon, Shrike, lost an eye several years ago but the Simic grew a new one for her! It looks more reptilian than her original eagle eye. I also gave Solaine a little scar over her eye to make them match, for funsies.

Jacqueline as a teen, when Solaine got her hands on her. She knew she'd have a lot of work ahead of her to whip this Izzet girl into shape but she was confident she could make something good out of her.

Solaine giving Jacqueline her badge at her promotion ceremony. Solaine's ceremonial outfit is a little different than Jacqueline's because she's a griffon hussar; the feathers in her stupid little hat all came from her griffons. She also has a cool little winged cloak over one shoulder.

In session 1, Jacqueline had a VERY bad time at her impromptu crime scene; Jacques injured, suspect dead, Sera being a huge bitch about all of it. Solaine tried to comfort her in the moment, but she doesn't really. Do PDA. Not professional. A brief arm touch and a "you did your best, it's all right, calm down" is all she could really manage in the moment.

The other enormous part of my recent brainrot (aside from twin shenanigans) is definitely Jacqueline’s toxic yuri relationship with an aasimar boros war cleric named Seraphine, or Sera for short.

Jacqueline and Sera met as teens during a competition showcase duel between their rival guilds. It went off the rails and resulted in a full year of beating the shit out of each other, followed by a friendly(?) rivalry recently turned “gal pals with benefits” and VERY recently turned “girlfriends” when Jacqueline forced Sera to commit to a family-friendly term.

Sera is suuuuuuch a bitch but every now and then she shows the barest glimmers of being a good person and Jacqueline is such a sucker for someone who needs her, even if (or maybe especially if) it hurts her. Too bad she’s terrible for Sera, too!

1. The first doodle of Sera. I have put approximately 0 thought into her armor situation so I’m definitely going to redesign her outfit to be better in line with boros soldier design sensibilities later

5. Sera has been trying to recruit Jacqueline to Boros since like their fourth spar. “Suits you, cupcake.”

6. In session 1, Sera burst onto Jacqueline’s crime scene, insulted and yelled at her, tried to steal it for the Boros, and then shoved Jacqueline’s own recent apology letter to her back into her chest as a parting shot. “Got your letter.” Jacqueline was so so so certain she just got dumped

7. She read the letter that night, though. Sera had been… writing an apology on it… almost like she was practicing….

8. In session 3 we saw Sera again and took a walk to clear the air. She gave a real apology even though it was like chewing glass. Jacqueline asked her what term she should use to describe their relationship to Jacques, now that they had been introduced, and Sera eventually agreed on “girlfriend” after making a “joke” about getting married. Anyway then she kissed Jacqueline’s cheek, tentatively, like she wasn’t sure she was allowed. She doesn’t do pda. Jacqueline was reluctantly charmed by Sera Trying so hard.

9. So she kissed her back, for real. Oh Sera. I’m so sorry your stupid girlfriend never ever makes the first move. At least she’s finally learning how to escalate!

10. On the train ride home at like 1:30 am, Jacques asked “so what’s going on with you two.” Hahaha. Blush. “Uncle Hodges wants to meet her. Is that still on the table?” “….let me ask her. 😬”
