“It seems that to enjoy the humiliation and degradation of others, you have to dehumanise them first. Not something women seem to be inclined to do; in fact women spend a lot of their time humanising men even when their behaviour least merits it.”

I cannot believe I didn't do any post about the death of my baby girl, Gracinha! For Christ's sakes! That's absolutely unforgivable - no, I'm really not looking for pity...it's just unbelievable.
I miss her so badly!!! And...Today I've just remembered why I felt so guilty about her death; beyond the euthanasia issue that would make anyone feel guilty at some level.
Back in the day I had so many mental-emotional issues during the time of her passing. I feel like I accelerated the process of her cancer bc of my stupidity...
I just can hope to do and be better for my loved ones, and my new little guy. Being better is the minimum I should do in honor of her. Not just because of her, but also because of her.

A woman went viral for being turned down for a next interview for a role, she asks the recruiter what she did wrong, the recruiter tells her they were “concerned about her lack of effort in her appearance.”
She explains she wore a freshly ironed blazer with a collared top. Her nails were painted a professional beige. She got a blowout for her hair, so a professional style. She had on subdued gold earrings.
The only thing she wasn’t wearing was makeup; she states she really doesn’t wear makeup, and only had chapstick on, as her skin is sensitive. Her lawyer mother has already explained she has no legal case against the company for any type of gender-based discrimination.
Just in case anyone wants to ask why feminists still refer to the “pink tax” or rail against more and more elaborate makeup trends being pushed on girls and women.
Women being punished socially for not wearing makeup is still a feminist issue.

There were a couple dozen men in TikTok agreeing with a guy who said that libfem did a great favour to them - men, by motivating girls and women to have lots of casual sex without men having to even show some sort of emotional commitment to us. So they know, enough of them know hookup culture is a scam to women and they don't care.
Personally, I would only agree to casual sex with a man I have never seen before if he was absolutely mind-blowing handsome and charming...And ding ding I've yet to see a man who was handsome and charming enough - including respectful here, for that.
hookup culture has men enjoying 100% orgasms while women only manage to orgasm 7% of the time
Tumblr media
Relevant quotes from the full study:
"Research suggests that women may set the bar for satisfactory sex quite low - specifically, the absence of pain and degradation rather than the presence of pleasure and orgasm."
[Regarding men being more likely to engage in manual clitoral stimulation and oral sex when in a relationship, while fellatio was prevalent among hook-ups and relationships] "According to the authors, these findings suggest the orgasm gap is larger in casual sex because women are less likely to feel entitled to seek their own sexual pleasure and men are less motivated to provide their partners with pleasure..."
so what do women gain from sexual liberation and hookup culture? they get no orgasms, no emotional support and still get judged and slutshamed by society.
it seems to me that sexual liberation is a misnomer and hookup culture which is marketed to women as a way of expressing their sexual freedom and overcoming the unfair patriarchal standards women were supposed to live up to is actually a way to get women to accept less commitment and emotional investment.

It doesn't matter what JK thinks about any other issue. She's a Shero for women now! There is no way one can ignore how much she is doing for sex based rights. It doesn't even matter if some or many women don't want to consider her like that.

I don't think it's cut and dry. We, women, would be better off it for certain - we are hiper indoctrinated to care about our appearances, so having short hair doesn't leave much room for caring too much. However, like I said, it isn't antifeminist to let your hair grow; hair is absolutely natural, but as long as it get, it can get more and more impractical. One needs to analyse how much worth there is in maintaining a long hair, and how easy it is to do so.
Also, we should try other haircuts, even if it is only to not keep hyper naturalizing that the best hair is a long one; media certainly pushes it hard on us, especially on teens.

And let's not forget the v poor living conditions one has to endure while going into illegality under an authoritian government. It's been a long time since I read the last book, and I just read it once, but I don't remember JK glossing over it - and that's something we tend to do, to romantize revolution, to remember it by the values guiding it, but revolution and civil disobedience are extremely punished and punishing while it is still to happen or happening.
“The basic plot, which cannot be ignored even in the films, is that Harry, Hermione and Ron give up everything for their political struggle. They drop out of high school, they go illegal, defy the government, belong to an underground organization [The Order of the Phoenix], operate out of safe houses and forests and even raid offices of the government and banking offices. This is all done in principled opposition to the Dark Wizard Voldemort and a corrupt bureaucratized government that has been heavily infiltrated with his evil minions. This is revolutionary activity. But the movie version does not present it as such or emphasize these radical aspects of the plot, thereby entirely missing the dramatic sweep and action present in the first half of the last novel. The novels recognize the importance of alternative media for political struggle. The mainstream press [The Daily Prophet] is shown as unreliable and unprincipled, eventually deteriorating into a fear-mongering propaganda machine for the Voldemort-controlled bureaucracy. For a while the alternative but above ground media [The Quibbler] publishes the real news, but it ceases to print after the daughter of the publisher is kidnapped. In the book, friends of Harry [Lee Jordan, with Fred and George Weasley as frequent guests] start broadcasting the real news from an underground radio station, encrypted with a password. This radio station becomes a critical link for the resistance, which is scattered and weak. Although we are treated to some radio broadcast updates in the movie, they are delivered by a disembodied and professional sounding voice, not our friends the Weasleys. This undermines the important message - a guiding principle behind the media coop - that in a serious situation it becomes necessary to produce your own media and not to rely on ‘professionals’. The novel makes it clear that in this phase of the struggle the characters romantic lives take a backseat to their political activity, as Harry breaks up with the love of his life [Ginny Weasley] so as to avoid making her a target for Voldemort’s forces, who are known to use torture and kidnapping as tactics. The ‘love triangle’ that becomes the focus of the movie isn’t even really present in the books. In the books, the relationship between Harry and Hermione is totally platonic - Ron is shown as jealous, but the feeling is entirely without foundation. In the book Harry says to Ron: “I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me. It’s always been like that. I thought you knew” (pg 378, DH US Hardback). This conveys that men and women can be close comrades and friends without being involved romantically. But in the film, Harry and Hermione are shown dancing romantically, and Harry’s line to Ron about his brotherly feeling towards Hermione does not even make it into the film. This completely undermines the important message that jealousy is counter-productive and has toxic effects, which is an important feminist message for young people.”

We are indoctrinated into believing in men's humanity but they are indoctrinated into scalp themselves of it, at least when it comes to ours. So it's a huge fall when we realize men don't even believe we are capable of the same complex feelings they are, just not for us.

They're like: but but only black rapists will be harmed!!!!1 As if this was a good argument against punishing any rapist. It seems like I've heard yesterday: in America (US), black women are pressured into shield any and all black dudes, no matter if they are shielding their own rapists...
And the mfs, of course, want to import that shit - defense, here and everywhere.

I'm really attracted to long haired men, but like...Something I've noticed: enough of them look like one step away from calling themselves a girl. They so much have the face of your typical IT based trans woman. Ehhh, another way to vet guys, right?
