inspired by the tik tok trend where someone tells their significant other they'd like an orange. there was a really sweet one where one told their partner they felt like an orange and their partner mistook it for them mentally feeling like a fruit and i think vi would do that.

"babe, i feel like an orange," you say, looking at vi who's laid on top of you. she nuzzles into your neck, causing you to laugh a little as her nose brushes against a ticklish spot.

"oh yeah?" vi murmurs, her words caressing your skin. "that's interesting because i feel like an apple."

you blink up at the ceiling, your brows furrowing in confusion.

"...what?" you ask after a moment.

"yeah, like i'm all hard and crunchy but i'm actually refreshing and delicious," she continues, unaware of how you're about to start cackling. "i agree with you being an orange. you're all vibrant and soft and sweet."

you're trying so hard not to laugh, but pearls of it are escaping you as you hold vi closer. oh, your sweet baby, she has no idea what you mean.

"baby?"

"yes, sweetness?"

"i meant i feel like eating an orange."

"...oh." vi removes her face from her haven in your neck to look at you, adorably puzzled. "then why didn't you say so?"

"i—" you start to explain but simply shake your head fondly, heart overwhelmed with the pure love you have for this woman. "my bad, baby."

"i'll get you an orange any day," vi says as she removes herself from you and goes to the kitchen. "i actually bought some yesterday because i knew you'd crave some. how do you want me to cut it for you? cubes? wedges?"

your smile's so wide that it hurts your face.

"any way you do it, i'm happy."
