pretty lady
kang dae-ho x fem!reader | slight f!reader x thanos/nam-gyu
đ. summary: you were a sight for sore eyes. An angel into a corrupted place like that. Of course you were going to be the attention of most the men there. Especially of two particular boys.
đ. warnings: slight glinda core, blonde female reader because I said so, canon squid game gore, violence, swearings, jealous and protective dae-ho, not proofread. English is not my first language!

Among all these people you were literally an angel. Your blonde gentle curls bounced with every step you took when you first walked down the aisle to submit your vote.
You felt all the eyes on you but you tried to brush them off and only concentrate on your imminent future. Your expression soft but serious.
Determined you pressed down the X button and with a small grin on your face you wore the corresponding patch on your jacket before joining the others on that side of the room.
You fixed the little pink bow that tied half your hair up and you failed to notice a set of blown wide eyes staring at your petite form from the other side.
Scrutinizing and observing you with deep interest. A smirk popped up on his lips. What an intriguing little creature you were.
Such a cute and delicate flower.
And oh how much he craved you.
What was doing a little doe like you in a place like this? Full of hunters and starving men. Not a single positive thought behind those prying eyes.
Especially his.
Unfortunately for you and the others on your side, the majority had decided to vote to continue playing games and so you were stuck in that place, fighting for your life, for another day.
The crowd had now dispersed, but two factions had now formed, creating great tension in the room.
No one could have been trusted there. And you knew that.
And while you were sitting on your bed bunk, thinking about possible moves or other ways to survive, player 388 observed you from his spot on the stairs, not caring about the conversation his teammates were having.
His eyes slowly admired how the light made your golden locks shine, how small your figure was, your delicate hands and fingers playing nervously, and finally your dove-eyed eyes focused in front of you.
You were on alert.
But even if behind your docile appearance you hid a strong spirit, he felt a sudden feeling bubble up in his chest. An incessant need.
Despite not knowing you, Dae-ho wanted to assure your safety and to keep you away from any type of dangers. Especially the ones in that same dorm.
However, his sudden hobby had been interrupted when player 230 approached you with his 'cool' attitude. He knew what men like him wanted from pretty girls like you. And he surely couldn't tolerate that.
"Hey SeĂąorita, what're you doing here all alone?" his cheerful and flirty voice woke you up from your focused planning and slowly you brought your big eyes to him, noticing the dude with the purple sparky hair. "Why? Is there a problem with it?" you questioned lightly, your voice coming out in a soft tone.
You weren't trying to flirt back or something, but you deeply disliked when people didn't like you. You constantly felt the need to be loved and adored by everybody.
The guy shook his head, chuckling amusingly and then leaned closer to you, âjust wondering what a pretty doll like you was doing in a place like thisâ he took one of your curls and started twirling it on his finger.
You stared at his eyes, locked with yours, and immediately picked up his blown pupils boring into yours. And you understood clearly that something was wrong with that man.
But you had no strength to pull him away.
âDollâŚâ the guy started, now a wicked grin on his lips, his eyes shifting from your eyes to your plump lips, âIâll be able to protect you, butââ he stopped his words for a moment and his smile widened âit will come with a priceâ.
Patiently you flashed him a tight closed smile and with a swift of your hand you managed to free your locks from his grasp, pretending to fix your hair.
Dae-ho still observed from afar, although now standing from his spot and slowly ascending from the stairs with the intention to stroll near your bed bunk and intervene in case things got a little too heated. And not in a good way.
He absentmindedly smirked at your calm attempt to escape from the guyâs grip and silently cheered in his mind at your successful attempt.
Now he was only a few meters away from you, this time able to hear the interaction.
You both didnât notice him. What a relief.
His heart beating hard and anxiously in his chest, but he kept a focused look on his face. He was ready to jump in if that drugged guy would have tried something funny.
Then he heard your soft voice, âthatâs so kind. But you know what would be even kinder?â You batted your long lashes at the guy in front you, who was hanging from every word that left your plump and rosy lips.
You slightly turned your head to the side, eyeing a young small guy, probably your age, who was sitting all alone. He looked kinda pathetic.
If this strange man wanted you to be on his side so bad, then he would have done everything you suggested him. And you were also going to help that poor scared guy. How good of you.
âSee that guy over there? The one all alone and scared? It seems so unfair we are all in teams, and not him, geezâ you falsely let out a sad sigh, still gazing at the other player.
The purple-haired guy briefly looked where you were pointing at and then turned to you again. Wide and crazy eyes staring at you for a second time.
You sent him another tight smile, this time the corner of your lip twitched a little due to your nervousness.
The ex-marine kept his gaze locked on you, noticing how slowly you were starting to falter. Doubt and fear was gradually creeping under your skin. This time you werenât sure you were going to get out of this situation all by yourself and thanks to your charm.
And Dae-ho understood that somehow. You were crumbling, but he was ready to help you out.
âI wish someone would be my heroââ just to make your statement look more truthful, you placed your slim fingers on his bicep, gripping at it slightly. From him, you received an enthusiastic look and an amused chuckle. ââif that someone would to go team up with himâŚâ
Now your lips were pushed forward into a pout and that sight alone clicked something in the drugged guy.
A low hum came from him, his face even closer to yours, your foreheads only a few centimeters away from actually touching. He now really was staring into your wide doe orbs.
âIf I do thatâŚwould you consider joining my team SeĂąorita?â slowly you nodded then recomposed yourself âweâll seeâ and with that the guy was out of your sight, already jogging to other side of the room to talk with that lonely player.
You relaxed your posture, which had became stiff from the moment he came near you, but you just didnât realize till now.
Then a gentle tap on your shoulder.
You shrieked loudly but cutely (in Dae-hoâs opinion) and jumped at the contact, scared that another creep was going to pester you and make you uncomfortable.
However, when you turned around you were met with an affable face.
It was another guy, also young, but he didnât give the same vibes as the previous oneâŚno, this one made you feel secure and calm. Not troubled at all.
You studied the young guy with a curious stare, your orbs roaming all around his figure because too intrigued by his appearance.
He wasnât strange, neither looked like one. But in a bizarre place like that you were expecting the most untrustworthy people playing deadly games just to feel the breeze of victory and satisfaction.
The hand he used to tap you on the shoulder was still frozen mid-air, a widen look on his face and a faint and rosy blush on his applesâ cheeks. He surely was speechless.
You cutely tilted your head, looking up at him with large eyes, âcan I help you?â His gaze fixated on your lovely and round lips, his brain not comprehending any word coming from you.
Dae-ho gulped down the lump in his throat and simply refocused his attention on your face, now staring at you in the eyes like an imbecile.
Maybe that was exactly what you were thinking: what this idiot wanted from you? how you were going to get rid of him without hurting his feelings?
He was already tasting the flavor of rejection.
Then he felt your baby pink nails graze at his hand still hanging in the air and instinctively he withdrew his hand with a quick jerk, as if the contact had burned him. But in reality he was only caught off guard, not ready for your touch. He would have expected anything but the brush with your soft, pale skin.
A light gasp came from you, surprised by such reaction. It never happened to you before.
How peculiar.
Your voice reached his ears again, âare you okay?â The former marine couldnât make a fool of himself for the second time in your presence, he had to answer and quickly. âYes! I justâŚcame here to check up on you! Yeah, yeahâŚafter the conversation with that dude, Thanosâ he tried to sound confident, but he himself noticed how his own voice wavered slightly or abruptly became high due to nervousness.
The quizzical expression on your face made him realize that you didnât know who the player was (probably you didnât pay attention to the number on his jacket) so he chuckled softly and caught his breath, ready to clear up any doubts.
But before he could do that he immediately caught how your eyes suddenly lit up, a wide smile bloomed on your face and delicately you started bouncing on your bed bunk in excitement.
âOh i got it!â You bounced a little more and unconsciously landed closer to him, taking both his large hands in your small ones.
Dae-ho immediately took notice of the huge size difference and also tried to drink in your gentle touch.
âYou mean the odd guy with the purple hair right?â Your expression was hopeful and impatient, waiting for him to answer your question and ease your doubt. He simply nodded, with no force to speak after a scene like this, his mouth dry like the desert.
When you tilted your head a bit your hair prettily shifted in the same direction, shining more brightly in the light of the room.
Now a thinking expression printed on your features.
âHe made me uncomfortable, sure, but I think that I handled the situation pretty well!â You grinned up at him âafter all i love helping others and that guy all alone surely needed some!â
âDid you came here also for something else?â
Did he? He wasnât sure. He just wanted you safe in a degenerate place like that and mostly from degenerate people that took part in it.
He wasnât one of them. He knew.
And neither were his teammates.
So he for sure knew that you would have been safe in his team if you decided to join him.
âActuallyâŚâ but he was unsure. Maybe you would have considered him on the same level as player 230. But it doesnât hurt to try.
âActuallyâŚI was hoping that you could join my team?â
Your already large eyes seemed to comically widen even more, making you appear cuter than you already were.
His heart leaped.
And when you were ready to give him an answer Thanos approached your petite figure again, but now he wasnât alone.
Skipping happily behind him was a guy with long hair, a mischievous grin on his thin lips.
The former marine recognized him as player 214, Nam-gyu.
The rapperâs voice boomed through the room, âDoll! Iâm back! Did you miss me?â An unsettling feeling was showed through your facial features, but you didnât give away too much discomfort, immediately wearing the fake thin smile; kind and polite but cold as ice.
Dae-ho only admired how versatile you were. You amazed him every second that went by.
âYou again! Didnât you go recruit that poor guy on your team?â You questioned politely, slowly hoisting from your kneeled position and standing right beside Dae-ho.
Even in a mundane action you displayed such gracefulness that pulled every string of his heart.
But he noticed quickly that he wasnât the only one.
In a flash Thanos wrapped his arm around your waist and quickly pushed you in another direction, probably where his bed bunk was situated. âWe are going to have so much fun together doll! And weâll be able to win so much money!â He beamed enthusiastically, his arm bringing you closer to his tall and slim figure.
Nam-gyu swiftly appeared on your other side, the mischievous grin still on his face but now his eyes were totally focused on your face.
An unsettling feeling bubbled in your stomach. Goosebumps on your arms due to that sickening gaze. A shaky sigh from your nose.
âYeahâŚjust stick with usâŚand youâll have nothing to worry aboutâ he said, engulfing your shoulders with his arm.
Now you were trapped between the two, unwillingly following them.
Slightly you managed to turn your head behind, locking your eyes with Dae-ho.
You were silently asking for help because in that moment he was the only one you truly trusted and the only one to save you from that situation.
But he hadnât been quick enough because when he opened his mouth to interfere, you were already gone.
[...]
Panic set through your bones when the pink circle soldiers locked your legs together with the team you had been forced to join.
The second game had been announced: six-legged pentathlon.
Five minigames to play in a short amount of time; if the team ran out of time they would have been eliminated. And you all knew what that meant.
With a shaky breath you scanned the room briefly, before setting your tremulant eyes on player 388, who was already looking at you, a small smile on his lips.
He was trying to put you at ease with a simple glance, his fist raised in the air as a symbol of strenght and courage. He perceived that you could do it and that you were tough enough to succeed.
Still with your gazes interlocked he mimicked a deep breath and reluctantly you echoed him. That should have calmed you down a bit.
Your doe eyes flashed him a determined look and then you turned forward, ready to face the challenge.
Subtly, he side-eyed his teammates, hoping that they didnât witness the secret and caring exchange you two had.
Dae-ho kept his gaze fixated on you the whole time, never tearing it away from your small figure as you walked ahead with the rest of your team.
Only once his eyes left your figure and that was when he sent a disgusted look at Thanos, who of course appeared too relaxed and out of his mind during the race.
A low growl reverberated in his chest when he saw how the purple-haired guy squished your face and made you look at his face, telling you to not fuck up.
How dare he speak to you like that? You, who didnât deserve such treatment.
If he wasnât in a place like this, he would have intervened in the blink of an eye.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves, and Jun-hee beside him stared up at form, a quizzical expression on her face.
Slowly and cautiously she followed his line of sight and despite her short height and her condition she immediately caught up what was happening: call it female perception.
Unfortunately she was nobody to him to share a piece of her thoughts, but maybe, in a subtle way, she could do it. Smooth and clean without raising any suspicious.
"Ehm...388?" she didn't know his name and of course they were only acquaintances, so it was only a matter of rispect and politeness. The mentioned guy turned his head towards her, his brows raised slightly in concern, "Are you okay? You don't feel good?" she kindly smiled at his gentleness and interest in her health, but she simply waved his worries away, her hand ghosting on his bicep.
"Perhaps are you okay? I see you're kinda...distressed?" Dae-ho gaped at her with an unexpected suddenness, certainly not expecting it t be so noticeable. Now it was his time to get rid of her worriment, "I'm fine, I'm fine...nothing to worry about!" but his tone didn't reassure her at all and her suspicious had been confirmed when his eyes flashed for a second towards the playing team.
"Is there anybody you care about?" she lowly whispered not wanting to draw any attention to them, even if almost everybody was too engaged on the game ahead. Dae-ho's head snapped in her direction, now his expression displaying half surprise and half concern.
If Jun-hee had managed to catch up so quickly about her behaviour, soon or later the other players too would have understood that and not only him, but you too would have been in danger.
And he wouldn't be able to endure it.
He was trying to save you, not to endanger you.
"W-what?" "In that team-- she said pointing forward-- there is someone you really care about and you are worried about them, am I right?" she muttered hushedly and the former marine only nodded at her statement.
He just wanted this nightmare to end.
He forcely rubbed his temples, a faint migraine starting to bloom in his mind. If this game wouldn't kill him first, then his anxiety would do the trick.
"Everything is going to be fine, don't worry" the girl reassured him and then brought her gaze forward again, focusing on the ending game. With a small but rousing smile she gentlu nudged his arm and pointed ahead.
He lifted his head and saw that the last game has been passed succesfully and now your team was hurrying to the finish line.
When you crossed the finish line, shouts and jubilant yells echoed throughout the room, the other players happy to see the team had passed the test and that there was hope for everyone.
Of course, your team was not the weakest, but it was certainly the least harmonious and uncoordinated of all the others.
Eyes meet.
Hearts leaped.
Even if all the players roared triumphantly they seemed to be suddenly surrounded by a sweet and innocent silence.
You beamed at him, smiling widely and flashing him your white pearls. So lovely and beautiful.
âThank youâ were the words your lips mouthed and in exchange you raised your closed fist as a good sign luck. He smiled back, his smile full of adoration for you.
He was really hoping to see you after that game.
However, when your team was being untied by a circle guard and then escorted out of the field, Thanos immediately circled your waist with his arm, pushing you closer to him.
A shiver went down the marineâs spine.
He needed to complete this game, and fast.
Dae-ho needed to save you from that monsterâs grasp.
[âŚ]
His team had been the last to play.
No one was present there to cheer on them, only the utter and sinister silence. The guards absent stares on their rigid figures.
But they did it. They passed the game.
All of them being able to succeed in each minigame without too many flaws.
When the doors to the main room opened, Dae-ho noticed how some of the other players let out frustrated groans at their arrive, hoping that more people have died in order to gain more money.
But that wasnât the case.
The ex-marineâs focus although was set on the crowd ahead, trying to spot your figure anywhere. But he didnât.
At first he was confused: you had passed, then why werenât you there? He spotted your former team but you werenât there either. He tried to calm himself down and distract his distressed mind a bit, following his group to their self-proclaimed spot on the bunks.
Probably you were just in the bathroom. Yeah, you were safe and just needed a moment to use the restroom, nothing drastic.
However, he couldnât avoid eyeing occasionally at the purple-haired guy, who seemed into his own little word, moving his air in the air and whispering under his breath improvised lyrics.
Then he heard a door open. He settled his eyes on it and suddenly a huge weight had been lifted from his chest. He felt like breathing again.
Firstly he spotted your blonde hair, too unusual to avoid among the sea of dark hair, then your eyes met.
The marine felt a smile creep on his lips when he saw how your eyes lighted up in his presences internally you were practically beaming.
With scurried but silent steps you hurried yourself in his direction, trying to be unspotted by Thanos and Nam-guy. They gave you the heebie-jeebies.
And when you were close enough you literally threw yourself on him. Of course he had been caught off guard but managed to catch you quickly and engulf you in a tight squeeze.
Even if you two didnât know each other, you felt a deep connection.
You nestled your face in the crook of his neck and at your impulsive action Dae-ho flushed quite heavily but tried to hide it from your view.
Your loving face was hidden but he still heard your muffled words, âI thought Iâd never see you againâ at those words he smiled warmly and unconsciously tighten his grip around your smaller figure. His touch safe and warm.
Dae-ho tried to calm the incessant beating of his heart, thumping loudly against his chest, and a shaky breath left his mouth, âIâm not going anywhere. I will protect you even if itâll cost me my lifeâ he murmured back in a gentle reassuring tone âIâm going to get us out of here. I promiseâ.
He felt your figure shift slightly under his grasp and briefly loosened his arms around you, not letting you go completely.
A hopeful expression was printed on your face, your large eyes staring up at him like he had hung up the stars in the sky, âI knowâŚbut pleaseâ you pleaded softly âlet me help you. We are going to do this togetherâ.
Dae-hoâs heart swelled at your gentle words, bringing solace in his perturbed soul.
âWhen weâll get out of hereâŚâ he bit his tongue, not sure if continue or not âwhen weâll get out of here I would like to shoe you my hometown andâŚthreat you a nice dinnerâ.
Your rosy lips morphed into an excited grin.
âYou need to be treated like a ladyâŚand I would gladly do that, if youâll allow meâ.
Your slim arms encircled around his neck, ushering him closer to you.
âI would love that more than anythingâ.

Screams and cries.
That was all Dae-ho heard in that fragment of time. People running desperate to somehow save their lives, pleadings and begs leaving their trembling lips hoping to leave that place after what they witnessed.
It should have been easy. An âin and outâ situation, you know? Just to gather some easy money to pay off some debts. To start a new decent life.
At least, thatâs what Dae-ho thought. And supposedly everybody else, too.
Now they were running for their lives, escaping and avoiding the claws of death.
Shot after shot they fell to the ground not giving any signs of life. Their dull eyes staring off into space. No more light behind those empty gazes.
That unbearable sound of constant shooting overpowered the unstoppable screams and the former marine forced himself to stand still and to stay froze on the spot.
However, his will was slowly crumbling, the trembles in his fingers more persistent and clearly evident, but he tried to contain it. He couldnât die like this.
Then a voice.
Like a signal sent from above to save them all.
The same man from the beginning of the game. Player 456.
He had played these games before, or so he declared, but right now that statement was becoming more convincing minute by minute.
It was true that when they were eliminated they were going to get killed. And the only way to survive and pass the game was to hide behind someone taller and form a straight line. The robotâs eyes couldnât detect movements from behind something. And the player 456 proved it so.
Immediately Dae-ho offered his help, hiding behind his broad structure as many people as possible. It was in his genes to help others.
Numerous lines formed all over the field in no time and his eyes incredulously spotted a tall player leading one of the lines.
They were taller than an average korean person, so he supposed they were a foreigner. Their steps were quick and long and even with their tall height they seemed so agile and fast, ready to sprint if necessary.
When he glanced at them from time to time he felt a sense of tranquility pervade him. Watching them waltz through the field with that elegance and velocity helped him concentrate on his current goal: survive and pass the game.
And he did.
The moment he passed the finish line he felt like a huge weight had been lifted from his chest. But even after passing the game his mind was immediately on you.
He searched you through the players with an frenetic gaze, scanning everybody and then he spotted you, slightly crouched down and gently reassuring an old lady who couldnât stop showing you her gratitude for saving her and her sonâs life.
Slowly he approached you, the old lady and the son off somewhere else, leaving you alone.
He didnât know why but he felt his pulse rushing and the blood pumping loudly in his veins. Trying to act casual he cleared his throat hoping to catch your attention. And he did.
You turned around with a quizzical look on your face and only then he noticed your big and bright eyes scrutinizing him from the bottom to the top. He also paid attention to how taller you were than him. He had to tilt his head up a bit.
He met your gaze and forcefully managed to send down the lump in his throat. Breathtaking. That was what he thought when he saw you.
âCan I help you?â Your soft voice reached his ears and for a moment he thought that in reality he was dead and the person in front of him was an angel. But he regained his focus.
"You...you're really tall" his mouth spat out those words without being processed by the brain first and he should have thought of better words to say because he immediately saw how your expression morphed from a confused one to and irritated one. "Thank you, I didn't know that" you barked back with a calm fury, even scarier than a normal one.
And after that statement you went your way without looking back in his direction and he felt devastated at that.
Dae-ho only wanted to get to know you better and to express his admiration for how you handled the game with cold blood.
With a fallen expression he followed the other players back to the dorm room when the game ended. A lot of people had been eliminated and of course the amount of money gained from their deaths convinced more of the majority to continue playing.
The former marine stared at the blue patch on his chest and a pressing weight tortured him again. He needed the money to pay of his debts. He didn't want to fret his family further, already too much on their plate.
During the vote he didn't really ponder about it too much, but simply followed his insticts and press the circle. Only when your number was called he noticed your slumped and insicure figure instead of the confident one he found on the field. He surely heard all the whispers coming from the others and how they were effecting you.
And it was then that Dae-ho realised he should have voted X. Beside his family, who was still good financially compared to him he had no one out there, but when you came into the picture, even though he didn't know you at all and somehow managed to offend you, he wanted to protect you.
You looked brave on the outside, but he knew how fragile and breakable you were on the inside. Just like him.
He felt a strange bond with you: for him you two were very similar. And maybe he wasn't so wrong.
His gazed stayed focused on your figure, he didn't miss the slight tremble of your hand when you pressed the red button and the quick little steps you took to join the other side opposed to his.
Regret was eating him alive. And he felt the need to redeem himself.
His attentive eyes immediately spotted your figure on the stairs where your bunk and also player 456's was situated. You had decided to stick with him, since both of you wanted to leave that place so bad.
Dae-ho slowly tried to approach you, your gaze fixated on the small tray of food in your lap, while player 390, another member of your 'team', was talking with player 456. You were oddly silent.
Only when he reached a rather close proximity the other two noticed him. You also acknowledged his presence and a cold expression settled on your face.
He still felt bad for how he had treated you, even if it wasnât his original intention. He couldnât change the past but was right on time to make the best out of the present.
Player 390 was the first to speak up, âwhat are you doing here?â Dae-ho froze on the spot and transferred his gaze from you to the old man now standing behind you, âI wanted to join your team. I found player 456âs speech really stimulating and I would like to help you all to get out of here.â He stated firmly after he took a deep breath of encouragement.
The man looked at him from head to toe, âI think I could be a good addition since I was a marineâ he added, showing off his tattoo. At that sight the man proudly took off his hoodie and flashed him the same tattoo.
âIf you want to get outâŚâ the two men were interrupted by another voice ââŚthen why did you vote to continue with the games?â It was player 456 who had spoken, his voice serious and unshakable.
His gaze was set on Dae-ho who gulped his anxiety and gathered some courage to face the supposed leader of the team. âBecause I have no one and nothing waiting for me out there so I thought to give it a chance, butââ he stopped himself, moving his gaze to your figure, warming up a bit, âthen I found something worth fighting forâŚâ
You noticed how his gaze was locked on you and the sudden warmth and gentleness in his eyes, making your heart skip a beat. So you simply adverted your gaze and focused it on your lap again.
You wanted to appear composed, his words from before still lingering in your mind.
Gi-hun also understood the reason behind the guyâs change of heart and with a small sigh he accepted Dae-ho into the team, convinced that someone like him would have been a great addition.
The young former marine thanked him profusely and then uncertainly took a seat beside that tall and breathtaking person. He wasnât aware of being staring at them but they noticed since they felt his gaze on them, so they decided to call him out.
âWhat do you want now? It wasnât enough what you had said earlier?â He immediately picked up their irked tone and considered this as the perfect opportunity to apologize and explain the situation.
âIâm sorry if I offended you before, it wasnât my intentionâ he replied firmly but without looking at them in the eyes, still not brave enough to face them at the moment, âI must admit I had been shocked when I saw youâ âbut!â He immediately added, to avoid any type of misunderstanding âbutâŚI didnât find you strange or annoying like the majority of the players hereâŚâ
Dae-ho didnât know if now he had to be sincere with them and possibly making a fool of himself or simply apologizing. They had been looked down enough by others and by how they know showed themselves, closed off and slightly insecure about their aspect, he felt the need to speak the truth, facing any type of consequences.
Gaining all his bravery the former marine locked his gaze with theirs, who were simply ogling at him during his speech, and when he did it was over for him: their big bright eyes observed at him with an indescribable warmth and surprise.
âactuallyâŚâ he felt himself shift closer to them, their eyes never breaking contact, ââŚduring the game I thought you were so brave and elegant. The grace you showed by crossing the field left meâŚbreathlessâ
You widened your eyes at that statement, throwing you off guard.
No one had ever called you elegant or saw any type of grace in you.
You had always wanted to become a model and being blessed by such height was a gift and a sign from above. But unfortunately you lacked of delicacy and charm, making you feel humiliated and a failure.
When you tried different auditions you had always been rejected, neither being able to pass the first selection because they all grimaced when they saw you trembling on those heels.
Though, you never lose hope and always practiced with walking without stumbling or falling completely.
But things werenât going great, you were also struggling financially since in the meantime you were working for minimum wage and every audition ended with the same negative evaluations.
You were tired and almost close to drop your dream but then you saw a light at the end of a tunnel: a recruiter came up to you one day and gave you his business card to arrange a proper meeting and to talk more clearly about a modeling stage.
You were thrilled. Maybe things were finally going your way!
And thenâŚthe disaster.
When you meet you met a second time with that recruiter you ended up spending a large amount of your life savings and only later, a couple of days after the encounter, you discovered by the news that a man, who pretended to be a model recruiter, had been arrested for fraud and scamming.
It was him. The same guy you had met in a cafe to fill in all the papers and to cover all the costs.
The police only arrested the man but there were no signs of the money he gained with his illegal activity.
The world was crumbling beneath your feet. You had reached your lowest and deepest point, now nothing was enough to save yourself from this situation you naively had pur yourself in.
A dream.
Only because you wanted to follow a stupid dream.
Thatâs why people locked them in the furthest part of their mind. They knew they were impossible to realize.
Still you needed to prove them wrong, how they just failed to pursue theirs and instead show them how you were going to make it.
In reality you only showed how you really were a failure. And they all had always been right from the start.
However, those words whispered so gently by him flabbergasted you, but in a good way.
They were like a lighter that ignited a new spark in your chest, in your soul. You feltâŚseen.
For the first time someone really saw you.
A boy whoâs jacked and kind, making you believe in yourself again. Making your heart flutter for some praising words and making you feel all giddy inside.
You simply stared at him but with a new perspective; the hatred you felt for him immediately dissolved into thin air and was replaced by warm and a bubbling feeling in your chest.
âIâm sorryâŚâ you whispered bashfully âfor how I treated youâŚthe first timeâ he understood what you meant and slightly smiled at you.
Chuckling softly he shook his head âitâs fineâŚreallyâŚi understand where that came fromâ âthis whole situationâŚisnât the best and if someone came up to you saying strange thingsâŚitâs totally understandableâ he voiced your thoughts with a comforting and comprehensive tone.
You felt it again, the flutter and warmth in your chest.
âIâm y/nâ he had never heard such a unique name, it fitted you so well. He tried repeating it, your name rolling off his lips in a low and tentative tone. You had never thought your name could have been so different and singular till now. He made it sound so pretty.
âIâm Kang Dae-hoâ he then murmured leaning closer to you âDae-hoâŚâ you repeated back, your gaze locked into his. The ex-marine smiled and a small chuckle left his lips when your cheeks reddened for the embarrassment.
âIf somebody tries to make fun of your appearance, Iâll deal with them, ok?â He reassured you âyou donât have toâŚI can take care of myselfâ you quietly stated, but he didnât want to hear it.
âIâm seriousâŚI will protect you. Whatever it takes.â

LOVE IT!! CRYING! WISHING IT WAS ME IN HIS ARMS!!
CHAIN OF ARMOUR | DAE-HO (PLAYER 388)

pairing: gentle!dae-ho x reader
warnings: angsty fluff, established relationship, allusion to sexual harassment, protector!dae-ho, fear, comfort, alliance (young-il, gi-hun, jung-bae), fatherly figure, jung-bae/dae-ho military roleplay.
2.3k words
an: this might be my favourite piece iâve written for some time. itâs lengthier, so sweet itâll melt your heart (it melted mine!), and say hello to the other characters for me would you? feedback and requests are always welcomed. enjoy! <3
âplayers, please prepare for bed. you have ten minutes until lights out.â
there was something in the air. something ugly and perverse, and you saw it every time you glanced to the other side of the hall. every time you made eye contact with a man. the hunger in their gaze wasnât for food, but for you. maybe to the other women around you, too, but with the amount of eyes settling on you, it felt personal. targeted.
the longer you sat silent in the company of your group, the more you seemed to focus on the unease growing in your stomach. the more you seemed to catch the occasional word from the other side of the room. pretty girl, they said without enough worry about being discreet. so little, they whispered.
itâs only when you caught parts of their plans for you that the heat drained from your body, along with any semblance of confidence that youâd had earlier of surviving the night.
but maybe survival isnât what you wanted if they did get ahold of you. maybe death is what you were really after. the guards, always eager to pull the triggers of their big black guns, but would they grant you that mercy? would they interfere with games? with the immorality threatening you from what felt like every corner?
the call of your name was gentle.
you glanced up and caught dae-hoâs soft eyes. the warmth returned so quickly to your body, you wondered if the sun had been made obsolete.
he sat opposite you on the benches your group settled around, lunch trays strewn messily over the floor as you finished up your supper.
âyes?â you replied, but the shakiness of your voice was evident even through one word.
dae-ho glanced down at your hand and you followed his gaze. your carton of milk a crumpled mess, squished to the point that milk oozed out the hole your straw poked through. you gasped at the milk trickling down your wrist, and quickly wiped your skin with the sleeve of your jacket.
he watched you with a frown, concern knitting his brows together. âare you alright?â he asked, the softness of his words tinged with the worry bubbling in his chest.
you nodded, too quickly to quash his suspicion, and the squeak of your âyes!â was the icing on the cake.
dae-ho sighed and pushed himself to his feet, crossing the small distance between you to settle at your side. he wordlessly used the sleeve of his own jacket to wipe up droplets of milk you hadnât even realised had dropped onto the thighs of your sweatpants.
âyou donât need to worry,â he said quietly, close enough for only you to hear. he lifted the edge of his jacket to your face and tilted your head to wipe up a little trickle of milk from you neck. âhow hard were you squeezing?â he gasped quietly, brushing one final drop from your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
you sheepishly lowered your head. he pressed his thigh against yours, a silent show of support, and his way of encouraging you to meet his gaze once more. you did, and nearly flinched at the worry that brought out the tiny fine lines in his forehead.
âi mean it,â he repeated. âi wonât let anything happen to you. not now, not ever.â
you wanted to believe him. you wanted to believe he could fight off all those men, all those who wished you harm. but he was only one man, and no matter how mighty and brave, no matter how hard he would fight for you, you knew he wasnât a superhero. he couldnât beat impossible odds, no matter how hard he would try to.
suddenly that feeling gnawed at your stomach again. you wanted to leap into dae-hoâs arms, let him shield you from the dark, scary world. the monsters you feared would get bold in the dark. but you couldnât. you could only glance back across the hall, at the hungry gazes stuck on you like an angry, unrelenting wasp.
dae-ho called your name again, but this time you couldnât look up. he repeated it, his hand lifting to catch you cheek, trying to block your view of the men. trying to refocus your attention to him, to the man who would stretch and tear himself into three, five, seven, however many bodies he needed to become your hero.
but it was jung-bae who got through to you. the short and stout man who warmly took you under his wing, who accepted you as a little chick in his bird nest, and who gave you a father figure in a place that felt far from home.
âyouâre trembling like a leaf!â he gasped, his own hands plucking up yours, before leaning in closer to examine your face. he caught your chin in his fingers. âwhat is it, chicken? whatâs bringing you such fright?â
his comfort drew you closer, and you shifted closer until your head fell against his shoulder. âiâm worried⌠about tonight,â you said, sneaking a nervous glance to the other side of the room.
the oâs. although they matched the numbers on your side, their presence was twice as ominous, and it would only be worse under the veil of darkness fast approaching. the tension slowly spread through your muscles, and suddenly it was no longer just your hands shaking. legs, arms, anything that could contract, trembling as you pictured the men across the room as only silhouettes. your thigh bumped into dae-hoâs, and he caught it with one of his big hands, holding it flush against his. he traced patterns over the cotton of your sweatpants.
but you were only growing more tense.
jung-bae gasped, pulling his hands from yours. âow!â he cried, rubbing soothing circles into the palms of his hands, looking to you with surprise. âsuch strength in such a little girl!â he said, and you caught a glimmer of playfulness in his wide eyes.
your head sank sheepishly. âsorry, sir,â you apologised.
âand yet, the manners of a princess!â he exclaimed, approval rife in taking your hand to squeeze. he lifted it, shaking it along as he said, âa princess has no reason to fear with her noble guards around to protect her.â
you held his gaze and tried to smile, tried to believe him, tried not to think about the hungry gazes harassing you from the other side of the room. you couldnât help look up, see the danger targeted right at you in the lick of lips, in the sly grins, and suddenly the shaking in your hands vibrated through jung-baeâs body.
âyoung-il!â suddenly your hand was swept in the direction of your newest ally, and jung-bae shook it as he said, âstrong, clever, fierce.â
young-il nodded firmly, a confident smile pulling at the corners of his lips as he held your gaze, but you were quickly locking eyes with gi-hun as jung-bae warmly said, âgi-hun! loyal, determined, kind.â
the warmth of his eyes was all the convincing you needed, but gi-hun still reached out to squeeze your shoulder reassuringly. thatâs the kind of man he was.
âjung-bae,â jung-bae said of himself, slapping your hand into his chest this time. âmarine,â he said, lifting his other arm into a flex of his bicep, and while you saw no activation in the muscle, somehow it didnât matter. it was the pride in his eyes, the conviction in his tone as he said, âwise as time,â and you believed him. âand handsome as brad pitt.â
the widening of your eyes preceded your surprised giggle, but you couldnât cover you mouth in time to suppress it.
jung-baeâs eyes blew wide again. âshe laughs!â he accuses in mock disbelief, glancing between the other men in your group, before settling back on you. âmany women say jung-bae is the one that got away!â he insists, but only grins wider as you stifle more of your little giggles.
your hand still in his thrown around again as he pretends to take offence, but he soon eases into calmness again, before leaning in closer.
âdonât forget, there are two marines here,â he said quietly, and you barely caught the flash of mischief in his eyes before he suddenly straightened his back, snapping his other hand into a click as he commanded âdae-ho!â with such authority that he jumped immediately to attention.
âyes, sir!â he shouted back, unflinching as his chopsticks crashed and clanged on the hard floor under his feet.
jung-baeâs chest swelled with approval. âare you afraid?!â he commanded.
âno, sir!â
âof men?â
âno, sir!â
âof the dark?â
âno, sir!â
you caught the sly smirk jung-bae shot you, before asking, âof jung-bae?â
âno, sir!â
his face dropped into a scowl, and he swatted a hand to the side of dae-hoâs shoulder, landing a blow right against the ink of his marine tattoo. dae-ho didnât even flinch, back still straight and standing tall, his eyes fixed ahead with determination.
jung-bae asked one final question of him. âwhat of the men, the ohâs, behind you?â
a beat is not skipped when dae-ho sharply insisted, âno, sir!â
jung-bae slowly turned back to face you, a warm confidence as he said, âthe dark is frightening. itâs where monsters live, where evil lurks. but what can defeat the dark?â he asked, leaning back ever so slightly to let you ponder, inviting you to look at the three other men in your alliance. each one stared back warm, kind, determined, and when jung-bae leant back in, you understood him when all he gently said is âlight.â
you couldnât seem to look away as dae-ho held your gaze, the quiet confidence radiating from his kind eyes, and suddenly the tension in your muscles faded away. the trembling of your hands subsided, and you werenât gripping onto jung-baeâs hand so tightly.
dae-ho offered you sincerity when he promised, âtheyâll have to get past us to get to you,â he said. âthrough me.â
he offered his hand out, and jung-bae lifted your hand to meet dae-hoâs. you took it, fingers interlocking as he gently but effortlessly pulled you up from the bench. he rested your entwined hands against his chest, leaning down to press a kiss to your skin. he gazed down into your eyes.
âi would set all the money in the world on fire to keep you safe,â he said so gently, you swore your knees would give out. âlet me be your light,â he referenced jung-bae, nodding a head toward the cluster of your bunks. âstay with me tonight, in my bunk.â
you didnât need to think about it. âplease,â you whispered, holding onto his hands tighter.
the corners of his lips stretched into a smile softer than his breath on your knuckles as he kissed your hands again.
he climbed up the benches towards the bunks, stopping patiently after each step to turn and help you up. your legs were shorter than his, and he didnât want to risk you catching your knee on a sharp corner and getting a bruise. but when you got to the ladder of his bunk, he dropped your hand to take purchase on your hips, lifting you with ease up the first few rungs.
he followed after you, glancing up and holding a hand out just in case you lost your footing.
âcareful,â he warned as you approached the shelf of his bunk, rushing up the last few steps just to reach out and cover the sharp corner of the bunk above. you ducked your head under it, and his hand dropped to your lower back to help guide you in.
he joined you on the thin mattress after you settled down.
âare you cold?â he asked, fingers catching the zip of his jacket, waiting for your command.
âa little,â you admitted, but stopped him from declothing himself by placing a hand over the zipper on his chest. you lifted your eyes to find his. âcan you lay with me? please.â
dae-hoâs gaze softened. âyeah,â he breathed gently, and you wondered where his voice had gone. he slowly lowered himself onto his back, one arm spreading out for you to curl up to his side. when you did, he closed his arm around your body and secured you in place. to him.
you nuzzled into his side. everything about him was so safe, and you wondered if it was the lingering scent of his shampoo or his gentle breathing that made your eyes heavy.
he held you, gentle but firm, while the others in your group climbed and settled into the surrounding bunks. the presence was suffocating in the best way. all around you, a friendly face, a willingness to shield you from danger, and for once in your life, a selection of men you could count on.
it dawned on you, like this, that jung-bae was right. the ease in your chest came down to the shield around you, the men willing to protect you for no reward, for no recognition. everything to gain by letting you get eliminated in the dark of night, and everything to lose by letting you live. but yet, they chose the latter. they chose to guard you. their princess.
and even as the lights turned out, when the shadows played tricks on your eyes, your hands didnât tremble. they laced with dae-hoâs, who pulled you in closer, lips pressing against yours in a silent promise.
âiâll see you in the morning,â he whispered.
as the heaviness in your eyelids became too much to fight off any longer, you took one last moment to savour the warmth radiating from his body. only then, with your head in his chest, the chill leaving your body, did you realise that yes, so long as dae-ho was here, the sun was obsolete.
i could sleep easy in dae-hoâs arms. please like, comment, reblog. love <3

always there for you
kang dae-ho (player 388) x fem!reader
đ. summary: you already took part in the games with Gi-hun and survived that monstrosity. But even the strongest soldier has its weakness.
đ. warnings: canon gore, squid game violence, no spoilers, swearing, fluff, female reader, no proofread. English isnât my first language!
requests are open !!

You woke up in that shithole again.
You promised yourself to never ever put your foot back in there after the last time. You still didnât know how you managed to survive last time.
In the game only Gi-hun and you were the only one left standing after an atrocious journey. Poor Sae-byeok, who at a certain point was injured, didnât make it because killed by Sang-woo, who instead was found dead in the bathroom.
So the two of you were facing each other on the field of the last game, but neither of you decided to finish it, both voting to go home.
The prize money had been split between the two of you then everyone followed their path, but Gi-hun and you kept in touch.
He was obsessing with finding the recruiter and for the last two years he hired a group of men who would scour every inch of every subway line.
From the calls and video chats you both shared you undoubtedly noticed how his infinite search was draining him, both physically and mentally. He wasnât taking care of himself properly.
Sometimes you went to his apartment and cooked something for him, hoping that some home cooked meal would have helped him a little, and even if he always vocalized his gratitude for your actions you knew that day by day he was losing himself completely.
An unhealthy obsession that was killing him slowly and painfully.
Luckily for him, you were there to help him grasp at that little sanity he had left.
âIt must be annoying to look after someone like meâ. He blurted these words once, a cigarette in one hand and a distant look on his face. He almost looked guilty and mad for disturbing you.
But he didnât know that it was the least you could do. You couldnât help him forget everything and live a happy and untraumatized life, but you could help by taking care of him.
He was the only one left for you, and you were for him.
And you cared so deeply for him that at a certain point you even decided to join his plan to finally find and confront the frontman.
The only difference was that it wasnât in your plan to take part again in that murderous game. He knew that to obtain what he wanted he had to go deeper, but you werenât ready.
Your eyes snapped wide open when you heard that familiar song. âGod fucking dammit!â a few heads turned in your direction but you brushed them off.
The last thing you remembered was being in a fancy limo with Gi-hun and him talking with the frontman. Then black.
Now in that blue and white room again, on that nasty bed again that brought back so many memories but this time with different people, all too excited to win some cash.
When you looked down you notice that same outrageous outfit but a particular caught your eye.
003.
The same exact number.
Despite you scanned the room for that one familiar face you didnât find him anywhere and that thought just made you paranoid.
It was impossible for him to not be where he exactly wanted to be? Maybe the frontman took him somewhere else? Where he could have been unable to fight back? Where he could have died without no one knowing?
That final realization hit you straight in the head and in an instant you stood up from your bed and tried to make your way through the other participants.
However, you had been stopped by a full body of guards walking in through the metallic door.
The square guard started with their usual speech, presenting the game and the rules, stressing every time his tone on how their rights and comforts were their main interest and always came first above everything else.
Merely bullshit.
You still hoped this was a fever dream or something like that.
But reality settled back in when you found yourself on that open field again and the colossal robot staring right back at you.
How you didnât miss that place.
In the distance you spotted a slim figure running ahead the group, facing everybody.
It was Gi-hun.
âGi-hun you son of a bââ
Alive.
Most of them managed to pass the game thanks to Gi-hun. 91 players were eliminated, 9.1 billions were now in the piggy bank.
And just that sum of money sent most of the players there out of their minds. And because of that the voting ended just as you expected.
By one vote the circle won and all of you were obliged to stay there and take part in another mortal game.
âThese greedy people donât even know what they got themselves intoâŚâ whispered through clenched teeth, your eyes thinned as you listlessly played with your food.
You reunited with Gi-hun and joined him and his best friend Jung-bae, now all seated on the stairs in a corner.
âI totally agreeâ a voice came from your right and when you lifted your gaze in front of you there was a broad man with half hair tied up and a gentle smile on his face.
His sudden appearance caught also the attention of the other two players, who simply stared up at him, distrust on Gi-hunâs face.
âI heard you during the first game! Everybody freeze!â The young man imitated your friendâs gestures with an excited spark in his eyes.
âAnd who are you?â Jung-bae asked while raising slowly from his seat, trying to flash him an intimating look and appear more manly.
He stared at him dumbfounded then regained his posture clearing his throat as a way to gain some kind of confidence.
His tone was a bit shaky but he tried to hide it in the best way possible âKang Dae-ho. I was a former marine and I would like to join your team!â He beamed mainly, showing off his tattoo and then assuming a military position.
Jung-bae analyzed him closely and then not-so-casually rolled up his sleeve to show his own tattoo. Another former marine.
At that sight, Dae-ho stiffened his posture and saluted his fellow marine.
âI wasnât expecting thatâŚâ you whispered to Gi-hun, who lowly snickered beside you.
However your words werenât misheard by Jung-bae, who turned around towards you with an offended look on his face.
âAnd what do you mean by that?!â âStop whining, you look like a big fussy babyâŚâ you replied back nonchalantly and slowly massaging your temples.
Dae-ho stared at you silent, which was strange from him, and you took notice of that but did nothing about it.
He, on the other hand, thought he had not been caught red-handed, so he looked away clearing his throat, a light rosy veil framing his cheeks.
It was strange. He had always been an outgoing boy, a breath of fresh air, or so others had called him. A pure ball of energy and happiness, that's what he was.
A true golden retriever, ready to cheer up others and offer help when needed.
And now that he finally had a team he could trust he could help and feel useful so that they could all get out of that nightmare safely.
But when he looked at you, all the air in his lungs left him.
Sassy and witty, so confident and surely hot-tempered. What a woman.
Although he noticed the hard look on your face, your closed and reserved nature but not because of your personality, no, due to something else.
He sensed you had lived something traumatizing, just like him, but it was rude and vulnerable to show someone you just met minutes ago to show them said side of yourself.
He wouldnât have done that either.
But he felt connected to you. He was attracted like a magnet and pulling away wasnât an option for him.
Dae-ho wanted to be pulled, to be further attracted by you. Like a moth pulled by a flame.
He wasnât scared to be burned but right now the lack of confidence was too pressing for him. He wanted to look his best for you and most importantly someone you could rely on. Even if it seemed you didnât need one.
Although he noticed the way you deeply trusted Gi-hun and how unintentionally you counted on him. He was your anchor. Dae-ho didn't feel jealousy arose in him since he hyphotized you must have had a strong bond with him.
But he was craving that kind of affinity, to feel you so close even just spiritually, confessing him your dark past and your deepest fears. He wanted that. To be someone you could trust with all yourself.
And that opportunity came up. Unexpectedly.
The second game revealed itself to be not so intricate like many of you thought, but obviously with not a great team the minigames could have been a real pain.
Even if your team was already of five people, you decided to give up your place for a pregnant girl, probably your age, who desperately needed help and some kind of protection for her and her baby.
You couldn't have let her die in a place like that. For her and the baby's sake.
You were too good, you knew that, but fortunately you were also aware that a strange type of luck was by your side, due to you already surviving in a that place the last time you were there.
So you joined another team last minute. And you passed.
However, your team had been one of the first to play so when you succeeded you had to wait alone near your base for what felt like hours.
Groups of players were entering the dorms slowly filling the entire room, but there was still no sign of your group. Had Gi-hun and the others perhaps not made it? Gradually you heard the numbers of the players who had failed, but their numbers did not resonate within the cold walls of that glacial facility.
Maybe you were overreacting.
But you felt the tears blurring your vision and threatening to flow out.
You weren't ready to lose them. You knew to not create close relations in a place like this, but it was inevitable. It was the only way to push down an agonizing depression and an imminent madness.
Unoticed by you tears streaked your cheeks, creating deep furrows laden with repentance and sadness.
Dumbfounded you grazed your cheek with a trembling hand, your breath now harboured and often interrupted by soft sobs.
And then your ears made out the sound of the door opening for the last time.
You didn't want to look up, your heart wouldn't have withstood the blow. Soon after you heard his loud laugh.
Your head snapped up and tripping over yourself you managed to catch a glimpse of their figures, animated by fiery and excited spirits.
A breathy gasp left your lips and with tears still in your vision you jumped out from behind the beds and ran in their direction.
They still hadn't notice you but one by one Gi-hun and the others made out your approaching figure and swiftly got out of the way.
Dae-ho, although, hadn't spotted you and in a second he was engulfed into a bone-crushing hug, leaving him breathless.
Looking down he finally acknowledged your presence and warmth rushed to his cheeks when he saw your face buried into his chest and your devastated aspect.
A soft gaze possessed his features and warmheartedly he reciprocated the hug, gently cradling your head. You were still trembling and sobbing quietly so he gingerly shushed you by nestling your face into the crook of his neck.
You quieted down a bit, your sniffs and breath still hard and harboured, your grip strong on his shirt like you were scared he would disappear if you let go.
But he was there. Alive and safe.
"It's okay...I'm okay..." he reassured you calmly and reluctantly you backed up a little, meeting his tender eyes.
You shook your head, still not believing what you were seeing, âIâm sorryâŚIâm sorryâ you repeated like a mantra and the poor guy in front of you didnât understand.
âWhy are you apologizing?â His tone was low and calm, one hand gently cupping your cheek and lovingly swiping away the tears, âyou have done nothingâŚâ you sniffed warily and nodded âI should have helpedâŚsomehowâŚI would haveââ you didnât finish the phrase when another wave of tears and regret crushed your figure.
Dae-ho slightly chuckled and cupped your face tilting your head up to meet his warm gaze again. âKnowing you were safe and sound here gave me the strength to give my allâŚto come backâŚto youâ.
You gazed at him agape, your mind blank and your heart tapping furiously against your chest. You felt warm and strangelyâŚsafe in his arms.
You didnât know you could have felt such feelings into a place like this but it happened.
All thanks to him.
You leaned into his touch and closed your eyes, basking into his gentleness.
Your behavior didnât go unnoticed by him whose heart immediately swelled at your action and a childish grin erupted into his face.
Without stopping cupping your face, he slowly and tentatively leaned in, half-lidded eyes observing your now calm expression.
You trusted him.
You found in him someone you could rely on.
Your foreheads connected and a shiver went down your spines at the contact.
âIâm here for youâ he whispered lowly, his hot breath softly hitting your face âand you can count on meâ he was there for you âremember thatâ.
He didnât need to remind you.
You already knew that.
From the beginning.

no me mires con esos ojos
kang dae ho (player 388) x fem!reader
đ. summary: you didn't know that the opportunity offered to you by that strange man in the subway was going to be a dead game, but mostly you didn't know that even in a scaring place like this it was easy to catch some feelings.
đ. warnings: doesnât precisely follow season 2, maybe some spoilers, female reader, swearing, typical squid game gore & violence, minor character death, slight angst, slight suggestive (??), romance & fluff. English isnât my first language!

Your sensibility and your kind heart led you to where you were right now. An unknown place with hundreds of unknown and untrustful people.
Your sick mother was the only one left to you and you weren't ready to give up on her too. You had to fight for her and to find money in order to pay for her treatment. Then how did you end up with a debt as huge as yours?
You had always been the most appreciated daughter among the other two siblings you had. Everytime someone asked your mother how did you treat her, she always replied with the most utter honesty. "She's so nice and always worried about me, even though she should go out and enjoy her youth".
Yeah. Your youth. You were only 22 years old and already with an immense debt on your shoulders. It wasn't fair. Life wasn't fair. You also wanted to go out with your friends, laugh with them, joke around and maybe experience love. But you couldn't. You had to drop out of college because of your motherâs illness and you were the only one to care enough about her.
Your other siblings just didn't care. They had followed their path and never looked back, not even when you and your mom needed the most. Now you were alone, working your ass off trying to repay your debt and still finding the adeguate cures for the illness.
Hoewever, your life took a different turn when you had met that strange salesman in that damn subway. You were waiting for train after a draining day at your job when this guy, probably not much older than you, dressed in a grey and seemed-rather-expensive suit approached you with his black silvercase.
"Ma'am, would you like to play a game with me?" That is what he said to you in a calm and polite tone. But why a game?
It's after a round at ddakiji, which was won by you, that you decided to stop there, just because you weren't a gambler and you didn't find entertainment in that.
You noticed how he wore, even if for a second, a surprised expression, but then immediately regained his confident facade. He simply smiled at you and handed you a business card with some strange simbols on a side and a phone number on the other.
That night when you returned home you found yourself sitting on the sofa, staring intently at the card. Which was the right thing to do? That man told you that by playing some games you would have been able to repay your debt and to help your sick parent. But what if it was a scam? You were in no position to fall for one, not with all the burden you were already carrying.
The flame of your lighter was extremely close to the card, ready to burn it, but you stopped yourself at the sound of your parent's coughing. Faint laments and sound of sheets came from the other room and that was the moment you realized for what you were fighting for.
And that's how you where there, in an unfamiliar room with not-so-trusting people and a negative vibe lingering in the air.
'Til that moment you had been on your own, away from the others players and not engaging in any conversation. Obviously you weren't the only one in that state, but you surely seemed to be the youngest there and that already worried you off.
When everybody gathered confused in the main space of the room a group of pink guards wearing a mask with some symbols entered the room and explained the rules of the game.
The prize money would have risen for every passed game. The total being 45.6 billion wons.
That statement flamed everybodyâs spirit and the guards led everyobody out to play the first game.
You were escorted in a huge and long room that resembled a field and at the very end, facing the players, there was a strange doll. "The first game is Red Light, Green Light" a feminine voice explained through the speakers "You need to cross the field without being spotted moving by the doll. If you move or the time finishes you're eliminated".
The game appeared to be easy enough, it was one of those games the kids used to play during recess but your guts where telling you that something was off. It couldn't be this easy.
You closely analyzed the other players, observing how they all had printed on their face a confident expression. All except for one.
A middle aged man, probably in his fifties, but by the look on his face he looked older and so tired, like he went through hell. The hard look in his eyes was distant, lost in the space in front of him. Not so positive thoughts behind those eyes. He seems to know what was going on there, like what to expect from a place like this.
456. That was the number on his jacket. You memorized it, just in case.
Then the game started. Cautiously but quickly you stepped forward, keeping your sight focused on the robot girl. The others started moving too but then the childish girlâs song stopped and you all froze on the spot.
No one dared to move and all the field was enveloped by a sinister silence.
Just a second later, a girl a couple of steps ahead of you moved distressed because of a bee. âOh shit, I moved!â she said in a laughing tone and then she was shot in her chest, falling on the ground. Blood started pooling around her.
It was at that moment that everything went down hill. Players at the sight of blood and of the dead corpse started screaming and running back, begging to leave.
You heard shots all around you, sending waves of fear in you.
Your vision was starting to blurry, the tears on the verge of escaping your eyes, your hands were trembling slightly and all your anxiety was pressing against your stomach.
You stood still but you were so close to break down.
Then all the shooting sounds stopped, the silence back.
It was broken by that irritating song, the robot girl turned back in her original position.
However, no one dared to move from their position. Only one man moved quickly, reaching the front of the group.
The song ended again and the giant girl turned back towards us. Her eyes scanning everybody.
âTHE ROBOTâS EYES CAN DETECT YOUR MOVEMENTS! IF YOU MOVE YOUâRE OUT! He suddenly yelled, keeping his mouth covered. He was player 456. âIT CANâT DETECT THE MOVEMENT BEHIND SOMETHING!â He continued, showing us his moving hand behind his back. Nothing happened to him, he was still alive.
âSO FORM A LINE BEHIND WHOâS TALLER THAN YOU AND CONTINUE WALKING!â And in an instant, everybody followed his orders, too eager to survive this nightmare.
I ended up behind a tall woman, the number 120 on her back. âFrom now on Iâll stay behind youâ you whispered to her to make your presence known. She didnât answer but she understood.
While slowly walking forward and keeping an eye on the timer, you managed to reach the safe zone. Only there shaky breath left your lips.
Those who survived were then escorted back to the dorm room and there you spotted the tall woman who gave you shield before.
âExcuse meâŚâ she somehow heard your whispered words and focused her attention on you âI-I wanted to thank you for letting me stay behind you during the gameâ you thanked her while bowing your head as a sign of gratitude.
Her gentle hand softly patted your shoulder, a small smile on her face âThereâs no needâ. That was all she said before departing from you.
Only then the guards entered the room again and everybody started begging to go home after what they witnessed. The square-masked guard explained that the could sent us home since we signed the terms & conditions and agreed to stay there and take part in the games.
The situation definitely wasnât in your favor when again player 456âs voice echoed through the whole room, silencing everyone. âClause 3 says that we can leave the place only by voting and if the majority decides so. Let us vote.â His voice was firm and his eyes serious and cold, fixated on the guard on the front.
The square-masked guard slowly nodded. âYouâre right and your comfort is our main priority. But first let me announce the total youâve made after the first game.â
A giant piggy bank was lowered from the top center of the room, then filled only in part with money. Everyone was mesmerized at that sight. âSince 91 people were eliminated, you all have accumulated 9.1 billion wonâ.
Low whispers started rising among the others, not so sure to leave after theyâd seen the sum of money. âNow letâs begin with the voteâ.
The first to be called up to vote was player 456 who confidently pressed X and went to stand on that side of the room. Right after him there were you, since your number was right after his.
Without a doubt you also pressed X and went near the man, who smiled at you in gratitude. He said to have already played these games before and that it didnât end well last time. Strangely you trusted him. But you also werenât ready to die. Not like that.
Unfortunately the O prevailed, so it meant that you had to play another game.
After that moment you a ticked with player 456, whoâs name you later discovered to be Seong Gi-hun, and he took you under his wing. He was so nice and acted so fatherly towards you.
Also player 390, who was Gi-hubâs best friend, and then player 001 joined your group.
You felt relieved to have found some allies in this crazy place, people to rely on and that had your back, just like you had theirs.
At 30 minutes before lights off you whispered to Gi-hun that you would have gone quickly to the bathroom. He flashed you a worried expression but you reassured him with a gentle smile.
You stood up and went near the small pink door in the room to ask someome's permission to dismiss yourself.
[ ŕŞââ´ ]
It was only a matter of minutes before the lights were turned off for the night but somehow you werenât too worried about that, maybe because you found some nice people who you could trust.
Despite not being too sure about it, you were fine with it.
After coming back from the bathroom you spotted player 120 by herself, her face concentrated and her brows furrowed in thoughts.
Quietly you approached her stiffed figure and then cleared your throat to make your presence known to her.
Her confused gaze spotted you and when she recognized you she flashed a small smile.
âSomething bothering you?â She shook her head lightly, even if her gesture wasnât so convincing âJustâŚthis whole situation isâŚabsurd. I would have never thought in my whole life to fight to survive in some stupid children gamesâ you clearly caught the distress in her tone.
âI know I should be the last person to say this but you got this, youâre brave and after the stunt you pulled before in the game I think you can pass every other gameâ your sweet and caring words seemed to have calmed her down a bit, who smiled at you and briefly hugged your side.
What you didnât notice, however, was a set of eyes observing you from the distance. Kang Dae-ho knew you were part of the team he latter joined but he hadnât met you yet.
From observing you he thought you were really pretty and kind.
A small blush crept on his cheeks at his own thoughts.
Jung-bae immediately noticed this and nudged him with his shoulder, startling the young man. âBrother Jung-bae! You scared me! Never do that again!â The old former marine simply snickered at his words and then took the spot next to him on the stairs.
âI noticed that look on your faceâ he commented âand I also understood who you were looking atâ his tone became a bit playful and poked slightly Dae-ho in his ribs.
The blush on Dae-hoâs cheeks became more prominent and he tried to hide it but failed miserably because Jung-bae snickered louder.
âJ-just shut up, itâs not what you think!â The young man tried to say, pushing the older manâs face away while hiding his face with his other hand.
Jung-bae shook his head amused and then gently patted the guy on his shoulder.
âIf you feel something, you should just tell her. Youâll never know when youâll have the opportunityâ.
It was at that moment that time stopped, every sound around him muffled and every figure blurred out, only her was in his view.
Her gracious and warm figure.
Then the lights turned off, only the golden light from the piggy bank and the symbols on the ground emanated some light.
He was still grounded in his spot, didnât move an inch.
Only a soft tap on his shoulder awoke him dreaming state. Quickly he lifted his gaze and locked his eyes with yours. The girl from before.
You were looking at him with those enchanting and marvelous eyes, so bright and curious. He would have gladly lost himself in them.
âOh please donât look at me with those eyesâ
The ex marineâs heart was beating so hard that he was sure he could have had an heart attack. No saliva in his mouth, his tongue so mushy, surely not able to utter out a vowel.
But you were still standing in front of him, waiting for any type of reaction from the guy, simply poked at you like you had grown three heads.
Now worry was starting to creep in when he still didnât show any responsive sign.
Concerned you crouched down to his level and gently placed your hands on his shoulder, facing him fully and devoting all your attention to him.
At the contact a delicious shiver went down his spine, making him sight out a shaky breath.
âHey are you okay?â Your voice up close resembled angelsâ chorus and for a moment he felt in heaven, cocooned in a warm embrace and protected from outsideâs dangers.
And those eyesâŚthey were making him go crazy. Those doe eyes looked up at him all prettily and anxiously, really worried about his well being. He couldnât have asked for more.
If that was a dream, he didnât want to wake up ever again.
âPleaseâŚdonât look at me with those eyesâ unconsciously he breathed out those words in a loving and needy way that he himself woke up from his daydreaming state.
He slapped his hand on his mouth, wide eyes staring scared at the girl in front of him.
His face so red that he thought he would have gone on fire any seconds now.
He had made himself look like a fool in your eyes.
Shame and awkwardness lingered in the room. No one uttered out a words as you both only stared at each other, you taken back by his reaction and him ashamed of the stunt pulled previously.
You were opening your mouth to say something, anything to lighten up the situation, but in a second he run off to his bunk bed, not so far from yours.
An amused chuckle left your lips, a faint blush on your cheeks.
âWhat an interesting guyâŚâ

The desperation in this guy's eyes.
My boy nearly died (presumably forced to protect Charlie by his deal), and wants to escape and strike back more than anything.
Requested, image description/edit: Alastor having a breakdown from nearly getting killed by Adam, hands grabbing his head, his red eyes darting around and his perpetual smile is extremely strained, baring gum.

Dating Tangerine headcannonsđźđź
Sorry for the wait, just hadnât had enough time with school and stuff!! Forgive me!! <3
More lovingâ for you
Summary: just some simple and sexy headcanons for our dear Tangerineđ
Notes: obv sexual content, mdi, English not my first language, grammar errors, no proofread, swearing, canon violence.

- sfw !
we already know that Tangerine is mean to everyone but obviously has a soft spot for you and you only.
Only you.
His grip would be strong around your waist and his face would always have a sulking face.
But when he knows that another suitor wonât back away from you, his hand would already be on his gun.
âTan, somebody could see you.â
âLet them see, love. Iâm goinâ to put on a fuckinâ show for them.â
Just Tangerine beingâŚTangerine.
He would always remember every little detail you tell him. Last week you mentioned something you deeply liked?
Be prepared for something related to that the next day. A gift, a date, a trip.
Literally anything.
âI râmember you mentioning it last week, so I brought this for you.â
And then you would receive the biggest and most expensive gift.
Would watch romcoms with you.
âWhat the fuck is this shit?â
At first he would show the most disgusted face on earth.
But then
âWait but wasnât she with the other guy? Then why sheâs with him now?â
When he gets involved into the show he would act like a teenager.
Would gossip so much about it.
However, he would never watch Twilight.
Thinks it is âthe shittiest movie ever made by man.â
Often would return home with a small gift for you.
It could be literally everything.
Jewels, flowers, chocolates, perfumes, makeup. Anything.
He simply loves showering you with gifts and love.
One of his top love languages is in fact gift giving.
He has the money. So let him spend some on you!
He would always have an hand on you. He needs to feel you everytime.
Arm around your shoulder, hand in your jeanâs back pocket, hands locked together, hand on your waist, hand on your tight.
Heâs quite touch-starved since his job doesnât allow him to stay at home so often.
And surely staying away from you is pure hell for him.
If youâre having a bad day he would comfort you in the best way possible.
Expect your favourite movie on the tv, ready to be seen, your favourite blanket on the couch, your favourite mug with your favourite tea and snacks on the coffee table in the living room.
And, of course, Tangerine in casual clothes waiting for you with open arms and a soft smile under his moustache.
âKnew you had a bad day so Iâve prâpared all thisâŚâ
âTan, you didnât need toâŚâ
âEvârything for my girl.â
HE IS A FLIRT
he would always find a way to fluster you.
Inside or outside. He has no shame.
It could be with words or flirtatious remarksâŚ
âŚbut when know that this motherfucker loves to touch you.
So expect slight inappropriate and flirty actions in public.
Smack your ass, kiss your neck, suck your neck, caress your tightsâŚ
This man would do anything and nothing could stop him.
However, heâs always ready to compliment you and then flirt and embarrass you.
He can go from
âThis outfit looks great on you, loveâ
to
âThose jeans makes your tights look so delicious. Just wanna bury my face between them.â
âŚso yeah.
- nsfw !
he loves pressing himself on you.
He wants you to feel how you make him feel.
Youâre cooking something? He would hug your waist and bring your ass close to his hips.
Doing the laundry? He would grab your hips and jokingly but harshly thrust your hips with his.
You just need to understand the effect you have on him.
I like to think that he quite likes edging both you and him.
But his way of edging is harsh dry humping.
Whatâs best than grinding on each other but not feeling that complete sense of satisfaction?
When he feels horny but also lazy he just starts making out with you and then, after some teasing, he would start grinding hard.
Even when still full clothed.
It turns him on knowing you two would get off but without the full intercourse.
Mating press, missionary and possibly cowgirl are probably his favourite positions.
He loves watching your face and all the expressions you make.
So he needs you to face him.
Always.
However, sometimes (rarely) he wants to give you the lead, so with the cowgirl position he can drink in all of you.
Somehow he would still be in the lead.
Jerks off to photos and videos of you.
He has an album full of all the sexy photos ;) you sent him.
He does that especially when heâs on a mission and he got extremely irritated.
He needs to blow off some steam somehow.
But sometimes he prefers to call you during the night, when heâs in his hotel room, alone ;) ;)
Would never do that if heâs with Lemon.
his pace normally would be at first slow and sensual and then fast but still romantic.
Unfortunately we know that he loses his temper pretty fastâŚ
âŚso expect some angry sex from himâŚ
âŚand also some jealous sexâŚ
I MEANâ CâMON
For me itâs totally justified.
Would never be into knife play or gun play or any other type of kinks involving too much violence.
He wants to separate his work life from his private one.
Every day he already tries to protect you from possible threats due to his job.
But involving violence during your fun is a no no for him.
Donât get me wrong, tho.
If you ask him to choke you or to slap your ass he would gladly do it.
Itâs a subtle way to dominate you. And, of course, he wants that.
DIRTY TALKS !!
Like I said, he quite often ends up doing some angry sex with you.
So expect some â¨degrading⨠from him.
But itâs not always, tho.
So donât worry.
Only when heâs angry or quite jealous.
Most of the time he praises you for pleasuring and loving him so much.
He canât never thank you enough for loving him! <3
He would never be too loud while doing it.
But expect some groans and low moans near your ears.
Heâs hella silent, ONLY WHEN you two are alone, like really alone, no lemon in sight, he moans slightly.
You are the only one blessed with his delightful voice.

SERVING MY NEW HYPERFIXATION HERE!!
TEASINâ
â jax x reader

summary: Jax loves to mess with you.
notes: English is not my first language, not proofread, use of nicknames, no use of (Y/n), female reader, digital corpse of a porcelain princess, FLUFF!!
Being with Gangle was really the best. No one annoyed you, pushed you to the edge, angered you. You were simply calm and collected when with Gangle.
She literally spread relaxing vibes and her voice was the most delicate and softest one youâve ever heard.
When she felt anxious or tormented, you were there to comfort her. Especially if her tormentor was Jax.
The purple rabbit loved tormenting that poor soul, only because she didnât fight back and drowned in her own sadness.
âIs the crack hidden enough?â Gangleâs quite voice reached your ears and your attention immediately shifted to her.
She was holding her broken comedy max, fixed with a bit of glue and some tape. âI can barely notice it.â I admitted.
âBut Gangle, dear, canât you ask Caine to fix it for you?â That was the easiest way to complete this task successfully.
Caine was literally the ringmaster and he was able to fix everything by snapping his fingers.
Her sad mask looked at you in the eyes and you could see her mind working. But when she opened her mouth to reply her face was showed down by a gloved hand.
âThere was a bug on you.â Jaxâs voice laced with cockiness and sarcasm. He had a big smirk on his face and from his eyes you could tell that he was enjoying the whole act.
As usually, Gangle simply sniffed, feeling blue due to Jaxâs bullying. You glared at him and slowly crawled the poor ribboned-figure in your arms, wanting to comfort her.
The purple rabbit simply stared at you with amusement in his eyes. âYou need to stop that, Jax. Itâs not funny.â His smirk only widened. âOh câmon, sweetheart, how canât you find this funny?â A mischievous sparkle flashed in his eyes only for a moment.
His figure leaned closer to yours, since he was taller, and playfully he twirled a lock of your toy hair, his smile bigger and flirtier than ever.
Gently, you urged Gangle to go to her room and hurriedly the ribboned-figure skipped away, leaving the two of you alone.
An angry pout was printed on your face but even if you were pissed by the rabbit you couldnât help but blush a little.
Quickly you gently slapped his hand away from your hair, âStop it, youâre irritating me.â You said annoyed, both of your arms crossed over your chest.
At that reaction Jaxâs smirk widened more, if that was possible, and he stepped closer to you, a brow raised amusingly.
âOoh, the princess is angry.â His voice dripped with sarcasm, entertained by this whole situation. âThe I think you should punish me for my behaviour, your highness.â He crocked his head to the side, mocking your digital form and the status that came with it.
You rolled your eyes and scoffed loudly. Your patience was almost finished. With your delicate and pale fingers, you flicked his forehead, earning an annoyed groan from him.
Now he was looking at you bothered.
âNot so cocky anymore, huh, Bugs Bunny?â You mocked him back and when his eyes widened in surprise at your comeback you simply walked away elegantly.
You had won this round, it was clear, but unfortunately you didnât notice how you had left behind a blushing rabbit.
A couple of days had passed since the episode between you and Jax, but you were sure to be close enough to madness.
He started annoying you more, even more than Gangle, and probably this was going to be your 13th reason.
When you were simply strolling around, enjoying some peace, he would always pop out of nowhere and prank you or tease you in every way possible.
He had always something to say, some mean and teasing joke, some prank thought and prepared only for you.
Jax felt the need to be near you.
And he craved for your reaction, any type of reaction, as long as he didnât anger you to the point to not talk to him anymore.
âStop following me, please.â
And now here he was, trailing behind you with his confident walk while you were trying to stay calm and collected.
The rabbitâs smile immediately showed mischievousness after your words and in a few steps he was by your side, his hands behind his head and whistling a tune.
âHow can I stop following a beauty like you?â He eyed you, ready to drink in fully your reaction and he felt pride and a warm feeling spreading in his chest when he notice your light blush.
However his words werenât fake, or at least for him. He really thought you were a beauty and the fact that your digital body matched perfectly with your elegant and exquisite manners made his heart thump a little bit faster than normal.
You huffed out more to hide your flustered state and picked up the pace of your walking. âAct decently.â You scolded him without looking at him in the eyes, your face still a bit red.
Jax chuckled and leaned closer to your face. His breath hit the shell of your ear. âI just canât when youâre near me. You drive me crazy.â At that, your face erupted in a strong and warm blush, covering your whole face.
And due to the proximity of his face to yours, Jax couldnât miss it.
âWhat princess? Do I make you nervous?â
âN-no! Never!â âBut your face is saying otherwise.â His smirk too evident on his face for your liking, but your situation wasnât better at all.
Your blush didnât want to go away and this only fed his ego more.
But your heart also started beating strangely fast for your liking and you tried to ignore it with all your mighty.
Bashfully you turned your head to the other side.
Of course, Jax felt pride in his chest but it was replaced by the warm feeling again, making him feel content at the sight of you.
Gently his fingers lifted your chin and turned your head towards him, making you face him completely.
It was a smooth move, you must admit it.
And because of that, your heart thumped faster and harder, your eyes widened in surprise and your cheeks brightened again, followed also by the tips of your ears.
Your hands gripped the skirt of your dress and your whole body stiffened.
His yellow gloved hand slowly crawled over your cheek, cupping it and caressing it. Your mind was blank, taken back by his behaviour.
Firstly, he bullied you, made fun of you, pranked you, and now here he was, acting all nice and flirty with you. Was he bipolar or something?
Was he serious? Or was it only one of pranks?
Hurried but shorts clouds of breath left from your nose, your eyes darting from his eyes to his mouth.
You didnât miss how his smile became smaller, almost non-existent. His eyes seemed bigger and they were closely analysing your features, travelling from your pretty eyes to your rosy lips.
You had him wrapped around your finger, he knew that. He was more than aware that he was down bad for you. But you simply didnât seem to notice it.
âYou know, sweetheartâŚâ he started in a hushed tone âi wasnât lying when I said that you were a beauty.â Your heart almost skipped a beat at his sudden compliment.
No words came out of your mouth, anxiously you started to gently chew your lower lip and his gaze locked on that sight. A breathy chuckle came from him.
âOh darling, you shouldnât be doing thisâŚâ he murmured, hid face leaning closer in an agonising pace.
Subconsciously you copied his action, his body leading yours. Your faces were extremely close. So close that his warm breath hit you face.
âAh here you are! Gangle was worried about you!â Ragathaâs voice echoed through the room and in a swift motion you and Jax backed away from each other, your faces both a blushing mess.
But Jax recovered quickly and on his face already was his infamous smirk. He simply shoot at you a wink before walking away in the other direction, leaving you and Ragatha alone.
âH-hey are you okay?â Her concerned voice reached your ears and in a second your legs gave up and your knees came in contact with the floor.
âOh gosh! Are you hurt?â You kept your gaze in front of you, where you last saw him. You didnât utter a word out. And obviously Ragatha was becoming concerned by your strange behaviour.
âPlease answer, youâre scaring me.â Her gentle hand was placed on your shoulder, softly rocking you side by side to wake you up from your shocked state.
Yes., you were fine.
But you simply couldnât forget what almost happened between you and that mischievous purple rabbit.

Aw, dad!Tangerine is so cute. I can already see him legally adopting the baby so it can have his surname (whatever it may be)
The one and only
đ. Summary: Tangerine loves the child too much to surprise his girl and child with a unique giftâŚ
or
âŚTangerine can finally call the child his son.
đ. Warning: drabble, major fluff, fem!reader. English is not my first language!
The front door closed with a soft thud and lazily Tangerine took off his shoes.
A quite sigh left his lips and he cracked his neck, loosening his tense muscles.
He just returned from a simple mission, but it was inevitable for him to throw some punches and shoot someone.
Although he was exhausted, his mood could not be deterred by anything else as he brought only good news with him.
A small smile formed under his moustache as his hand flicked the inside pocket of his jacket.
ââM home love!â He half shouted, announcing his return to his loving family.
In a second he was met with the sight of his loving partner and the child closely cuddled to your chest. âYouâre not late.â You humoured, greeting the man with a peck on his jaw.
Tangerine chuckled at your words.
âHave a surprise for you both.â He mumbled sweetly, quickly searching for something into his inside pocket.
Your eyes observed him scrupulously, your confused gaze fixated on his moving hands. But your heart was beating with enthusiasm.
âRemember when I confessed ya how important you two were tâme? âVe confided you how I wanted tâ call you both fârever mineâŚâ he started quite serious, his hand brought out from his pocket a folded piece of paper.
You continued eyeing him, not daring to interrupt him.
Even if he wasnât showing it, he was really nervous. His fingers were trembling moderately. His upper lip twitching a bit.
When he unfolded the paper, his eyes scanned the words rather quickly, as he was trying to encourage himself to continue.
Slowly he handed you the document and your eyes widened at its context.
âSo please, let me be the only and true father to this lad and let me show âim all the love he deserves.â

Finally home
đ. Summary: Hobie has been occupied with different missions and he has stayed away from you for a long timeâŚ
or
âŚwhen Hobie returns home to you.
đ. Warning: female reader, slight violence, mention of a panic attack, angst and then fluff, grammar errors. English is not my first language! I donât know many British slangs!

It had been a long time since she had seen Hobie. Almost a week without him. He had been summoned by Miguel for a fairly complicated mission but fortunately one that he and the others could surely solve. Or so Miguel said.
But they were still not back. And Hobie was still with them. They had been gone for too long and she was starting to worry seriously.
(Y/n) knew perfectly well that the boy was able to defend himself thanks to his spider senses and powers, but that did not mean that he could not be injured.
And the worst part could have been him being injured and all alone. No one there to take care of him.
When she thought about that she only worried more, her heart started to beat faster, her anxiety increasing bit by bit, her hands getting really sweaty.
Her mind was getting dizzy, like a thick fog blurring all her thoughts and worries, and that alerted the girl more. Her not being able to being in control even of herself was only making things worse. She had to remain calm, but she couldn't when the only person chasing away all her worries was who knows where doing who knows what.
A shuddering breath left her lips, now as pale as her face. Her eyes were closed tightly, her forehead beaded with cold sweat and her chest was always moving.
Her breathing was laboured, too hurried and frantic. Her hand on her chest felt her heart beat irregularly, without precise coordination with her breathing.
Too many thoughts were piling up in her mind, too clouded by panic and anxiety to really care about them. Her eyes moved in different directions from behind her eyelids, as if she was following something invisible with her gaze covered.
Then suddenly everything ceased. The incessant noise in her ears, the tearing thoughts, the movement of her eyes behind her eyelids, the sweating, the laboured breathing, the irregular heartbeat.
Everything stopped. Her eyes remained closed and her ears perceived a different noise from the one that had reigned in the house for almost a week.
It was a very faint noise, as if something was opening in the air. Something very thin and very light, almost imperceptible.
A loud thud echoed across the floor. (Y/n)âs bare feet felt it clearly. Slowly her eyelids opened and her eyes adjusted to the atmosphere of the room.
With a staggering but light step, the girl crossed the flat until she reached the living room, which was covered in immense darkness. Not even the moonbeams could penetrate that darkness.
But her eyes, once accustomed to the atmosphere, could make out a figure. Someone was in her living room.
Her breath caught in her throat and unconsciously her trembling hand covered her mouth, to avoid attracting the stranger's attention.
Where the fuck was Hobie when he was needed?
The figure remained motionless in the centre of the living room, only a faint wheeze echoed in the room. But still no movement from it, no sound.
But even as the girl remained as still and silent as possible, the figure turned around in the darkness, initially appearing disoriented but then with slow steps began to approach the girl.
A terrified look appeared on her face. Involuntarily she took a step backwards, hitting a chair and making noise.
âI-I donât know who you are o-or what do you w-want!â She stuttered out terrified, her hands stretched out in front of her as a form of defence.
âP-pleaseâŚleave me alone!â It was becoming hard for her to breath, her heart thumping so loudly that even the sound arrived in her ears. Tears formed into her eyes.
The figure, hearing the girl's tone of voice, suddenly stopped, a deep choked sound escaped its lips but it ceased immediately.
Afterwards it coughed slightly. "âs me, love...'s me." A familiar male voice mumbled out loud enough for her to recognise the voice.
Another chocked cry left her lips, tears now rolling down her pale cheeks. The male with a groan crouched near her, his knees hitting the ground and slowly he dragged his figure closer to the femaleâs trembling one.
Big and warm hands gently cupped her face, his thumbs tried to dry the salty tears as best as he could.
Even if it was dark, her blurry vision caught Hobieâs appearance. His suit was ruined and ripped in certain spots. Dry blood also perfectly visible.
His face showed tiredness and fatigue, however his eyes conveyed softness, love but also slight regret. The regret of leaving her there alone for too long, making her worry.
ââM sorry love, so so sorry. Shouldnât have left you alone for so long.â He mumbled in caring tone, comforting her and lovingly caressing her face.
âH-HobieâŚâ she hiccuped, tears still rolling down her face and devastation written all over her face. She really got scared and already thought the worst.
But her loverâs touch immediately calmed her down, now her body just occasionally twitching and her breath still quite heavy.
Lazily, Hobie shook his head, his eyes manifesting all the guilt he was feeling. It was his fault if she had been alone for so long.
When Miguel recruited him and the others for a mission he thought it wasnât going to be something so complicated. On the contrary, one of those easy mission he usually assigned to them. Because for Miguel they were just alborotadores. [troublemakers.]
A weak groan left his lips when suddenly he was met with (Y/n)âs crushing embrace, wanting to show him how much she had missed him. Even if he already knew that.
Softly Hobie pecked her head, his arms now wrapping around her smaller figure. ââM so sorry loveâŚI had to be quickerâŚâ he mumbled quietly, his soul still heavy with regret.
He should have finished that damned mission faster and come home to her.
âYou donâ deserve to be treated like this. Darling, you deserve more, so much more.â
The hero was expressing his deepest insecurities to her. He always thought that she only was worthy of someone who could shower her with love, not worry her constantly and always be there for her.
And Hobie knew that he couldnât always fulfill these requests, only because he had different dimensions to take care of.
But for him, his main priority would always be (Y/n).
His train of thoughts had been interrupted by a little movement coming from the girl in his arms. She was slowly shaking her head in denial.
ââŚnoâŚâ she murmured lowly ââŚI donât deserve anyone elseâŚâcause youâre the only one I truly wantâŚâ her big glossy eyes were looking up at him.
âI only want to be with you âcause youâre the only one who can shower me with infinite love, who will always be here for me when I need and who can comfort me like a pro.â
Her voice was quite raspy but still music for his ears, and those words made his heart melt completely.
He surely didnât deserve her.
A heartily chuckle left his lips, his face now more relaxed. âLove you sâmuch, love.â He murmured, pecking lovingly at her lips.
She pecked him back, a small grin on her lips. âI love you more, Hobie.â
â bonus !
âLove, yâknow I can tend my woundsâŚâ Hovie hissed breathily when the cotton pad was placed on a rather big cut on his arm.
âShut the fuck up and let me be the good and caring girlfriend I am.â (Y/n) barked back in a second, her attentive gaze never leaving the injury.
At her words, his chest trembled with a loud laugh.
âMy bad. I forget youâre also ma personal nurse.â A teasing smirk was plastered on his face.
In response she simply stuck her tongue out at him.
âThen I also think I need a special treatment, right doc?â
âIâm going to hurt you more Hobie. You better shut your trap.â
The smirk widened. He leaned his face closer to her ear.
âMake me.â
