GRATITUDE DAY 7 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦? 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔. Why would I be thankful for something so trivial?  I learnt a hard lesson last year.It started with our adventure in Ⓕ︎Ⓘ︎Ⓖ︎Ⓤ︎Ⓡ︎Ⓔ︎ 8 Ⓟ︎Ⓞ︎Ⓞ︎Ⓛ︎Ⓢ︎ https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10160177740530550&id=644875549 Long story short... I did not read-up about the trek and 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀. I thought it'll be our usual park walks. I ᗯᗩՏ ՏO ᗯᖇOᑎᘜ! So my toes suffered from 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮. Both my toe nails turned completey black and blue. The healing process was so painful that something simple like wearing slippers was excrutiating. So today  I am celebrating being able to wear slippers. it means I've paid the price for.my foolishness and learned my lesson. The last trek I did was in August 2020. After (almost) 5 months I can now wear shoes again and go for adventures.🚶‍♀️🏃‍♀️🤸‍♀️ Lesson learned "Wear the right shoes"- have the right 'support' to get you far and keep you going. It's also this one day a year he's not allowed to annoy me 😉. And we got to do the things we love doing.. being foodies, artsies, being tourists in our City, enjoying the sun and time freedom. I feel incredibly blessed that at 47 (ᵍᵃʷᵈ ⁱ'ᵐ ⁿᵉᵃʳⁱⁿᵍ ᵗʰᵉ ᵍᵒˡᵈᵉⁿ ʸᵉᵃʳˢ) and 19 years into our marriage I am still treated like a princess. 👸 My birthday was made more special with all of your birthday wishes! 💌 I appreciate each and every one of your thoughtful Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, SMS messages. 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬 5 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦? 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘. We had a casual stroll 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ around the block and it turned into meeting familiar friendly faces. Every street turn reminded me of a Hornsby fam 👫, a Church fam 💒 and a business fam 👩‍💼. In this community we have support, belongingness, friendships, sense of purpose and joy. I also ❤️ these 𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕥 𝕝𝕚𝕓𝕣𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕤 📚... one of our community's simple way of creating connections and sharing the joy of reading. We don't need to do a mammoth of task to be a good neighbour. We can start with small simple things. "𝙸𝚗 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢, 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚍𝚘𝚗𝚎. 𝙸𝚗 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝚗𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗, 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚕. My mom sings, my sister sings, my brothers.. well they tolerated our singing. We tried piano 🎹 but that didn't really fly 😅. When I got older I learned dad played the guitar. Later Chris bought me a 🎸 which to this day I call the 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡-𝑒𝑠𝑡 gift. 💝 God has blessed us in many ways and serving through music is my way of giving back. 🙏💒 Music to me is joy and healing.
