Jackie created the amazing fanfiction "Glue and Stitches", an adorable AU about the dolls Morningstar and Stitches (hmmn, who might they be😂) who are trying to find their way home. In one case more metaphorically than the other 😅

Reading the new checks that might come in due to the Online Safety Act in the UK and this is actually bullshit

And how will I prove my age?

There’s a number of methods a site or app might use to ask you to confirm your age. They might do this check themselves or use another company to do the check. These methods include:

Facial age estimation – you show your face via photo or video, and technology analyses it to estimate your age. 

Open banking – you give permission for the age-check service to securely access information from your bank about whether you are over 18. The age-check service then confirms this with the site or app.

Digital identity services – these include digital identity wallets, which can securely store and share information which proves your age in a digital format.

Credit card age checks – you provide your credit card details and a payment processor checks if the card is valid. As you must be over 18 to obtain a credit card this shows you are over 18.

Email-based age estimation – you provide your email address, and technology analyses other online services where it has been used – such as banking or utility providers - to estimate your age.  

Mobile network operator age checks – you give your permission for an age-check service to confirm whether or not your mobile phone number has age filters applied to it. If there are no restrictions, this confirms you are over 18. 

Photo-ID matching – this is similar to a check when you show a document. For example, you upload an image of a document that shows your face and age, and an image of yourself at the same time – these are compared to confirm if the document is yours.

Not only is this such a fucking breach of privacy, but this is going to hurt adults in vulnerable and abusive situations. Some adults don’t have bank accounts or credit cards or even a fucking phone. I’m one of them. I could not give half of this information even if I wanted to. What the fuck is this. Fuck the UK government. This isn’t going to protect kids, this is just going to hurt adults, and I know full well when they say “sites that allow pornography” they’re going to be going after sites that have huge amounts of queer content, like tumblr and Ao3. Queer kids are gonna lose their fucking communities because of this shit. Abuse victims are going to lose online support systems because of this.

I’m genuinely fucked off about this, and worried about whether I’m going to lose every single one of my online friends. Anyone in the UK, please email your MP and sign this petition. It needs to reach 100k signatures to pass through Parliament.

I’m only hoping the backlash will be big enough for them to stop implementing these measures.

I don't know to how many Radioapple Shippers this applies, but in my specific case I solely blame BBC Merlin.

I don't care they also never canonically made out because those two idiots were canonically "two parts of one whole", "two sides of the same coin" and each other's fucking destiny.

Merlin, magic incarnate, says to Arthur "My magic is only for you" and Arthur stops functioning when he's been seperated from merlin for more than 72 hours. And I'm not talking about his inability to dress himself.

And that's why Angel is the superior overlord in this AU: he'd shoot Val before he orgasms.

In the Poison AU, is Stayed Gone between Val and Angel? How would that work?

Hmmm, I'm not sure yet.

I guess that'd depend on whether I have Angel be the one who's soul is sold to Roo, but I'm not sure i want to go in that direction.

If someone's soul is sold to Roo, I kinda want it to be Husk, as it gives him more of a reason to be there (and I also like how it gives him and Alastor a bit of a role reversal in its own way too).

Maybe the song is about how Valentino wants Angel Dust to "Be Gone." He's sick of his shit. Angel Dust may be totally bangable, but by god, Valentino needs him to disappear for 7 years without a trace.

Especially because this is the first time I've finally seen the bar put through a color filter.

He might actually not know that it's terribly clashing with the rest of the hotel because with the filter it adds a few splashes of color but you can't actually see the difference between green and red😱

(No, I did not know that's why it's called red-green-blindness. I honestly never understood that term until now. So thank you OP for finally solving that mystery for me 🙏)

That makes absolutely everything about Alastor 100 times funnier. That might also be why he only wears that one outfit even though all of the main cast has at least one outfit change. (Husk wears a fancy suit in his flash back.)

He doesn't dare wear anything else because it might look ridiculous 🤣

What do you wanna bet that either Rosie or Mimzy put him into his current outfit?

But, this also might have severe lore implications!

Vox's hypnosis seems to be connected to a visual connection between him and his victims based on the fact that his hypnotic eye tends to fill out more space on displays and that his victims have the same swirl he shows.

And we all know that colors are one of the easiest ways to influence us! Just think, red tends to be recognized as forceful (be that passion or anger) as well as warm, blue is cold and calming, grey brings down the mood, yellow lightens up, black makes spaces seem smaller, white makes them seem bigger ect. ect...

What if Alastor is immune to Vox's hypnosis because he's colorblind?

That have such cool implications! Especially because Alastor probably never told Vox about it. It would have driven him crazy and I think they had the kind of friendship were driving the other up the wall was a given.

@jinxed-sinner Could you give more information on that simulator?

I'm itching to do more research and analyze the show under this aspect.

Even if it's not canon, damn this is such an amazing idea for fanfiction writing.

Alright so I've known about the theory that Alastor's colorblind for a few days now but I kinda wanna analyze it a bit more because I have access to a colorblindness simulator.

First of all, deer are dichromatic, which basically means instead of having three types of photoreceptors that respond to color (as humans usually do), they have two. Deer specifically are red-green colorblind, so their photoreceptors don't respond to red. This can also happen in humans, which is where colorblindness comes from. There are three types of colorblindness (protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia) and two types of red-green colorblindness (protanopia and deuteranopia). Deer colorblindness as translated into humans would be severe protanopia (complete red-blindness). With this in mind, I'll be going forward with this post based on the assumption that Alastor experiences protanopia.

So let's look through a few screenshots from Hazbin Hotel put through a protanopia filter. First of all, the bar that made Lucifer go "what in the unholy hell is that?!" because I think it's interesting:

Yeah, that definitely adds more color lol.

What about Al's room?

His bayou is definitely more vibrant than the rest of his room, I'll give him that.

What about Deer Man himself?

He kinda has this sepia look to him, which also makes him look old-timey. I kinda love it.

What about his radio tower?

It has the same effect of giving it this sepia, old-timey look.

How would this play into Alastor's character?

First of all, for reference, here's an example of sepia toning used in photography:

While it's definitely more brown, putting the reds of Hazbin through a protanopia filter has a similar vibe. Additionally, here's that same image put through a protanopia filter:

It's less brown because brown requires red, so when you take the red out of it it looks more green.

If he wasn't colorblind in life (and, if he is canonically colorblind, it wouldn't surprise me if it's not something he gained upon death) I don't doubt for a single second he spends everyday feeling like he's just seeing things as if they're antique photographs and completely owning it because the reds of the Pride Ring immediately look like an antique sepia picture if you take out all the red and that fits his vibe entirely.

A really hilarious radioapple fic would be one where Alastor hears about Lucifer's "I am going to FUCK you/it's fuck you UP" mishap, and realizes that the king of hell just does NOT realize how to properly word things at ALL, ever.

And so when talking to him, Alastor just immediately translates it to the most logical (non-sexual) interpretation, and then just responds normally to it.

(Constantly correcting him when you know what he means is both a waste of time and not conducive to following Charlie's "please just get along!" rules, so Alastor doesn't bother anymore.)

Lucifer: "We should go get railed." (Translation: there's a cool train that takes you to an interesting part of the Pride Ring, and I think we should go check it out.)

Alastor: *sigh* "If we must, I have room in my schedule on Saturday morning."

Lucifer: (something something about wanting to be ran a train on)

Which is all well and good, but Alastor might have forgotten to tell everyone else that was what he was doing. So now everyone thinks him and Lucifer are not only hooking up, but loudly and without shame just talking about it in public.

Both Angel and Charlie are in hysterics - for completely opposite reasons.

Okay, but how does Vox try to uno reverse this? Cuz he would try.

How exactly do you go about getting your former friend and current arch nemesis to use your credit card? Especially if the competitor is tbe fucking king of Hell?

Not that he'd ever admit it, but Vox is self aware enough to know that he is very much not on Lucifer's level.

Anyway, he could start a smear campaign (though is it a smear campaign when it's true) about Alastor leeching of the king but that could easily backfire.

Both in Lucifer turning him into ash and in having to explain why he sponsored the Radio Demon for ages.

He could try to blackmail him? No, no, fuck that's stupid, you can't blackmail someone into using your money.

Or can you?

What did Alastor buy with that card and is he aware that Lucifer now knows what he's buying?

That line of thinking ends when he realizes that Alastor has never bought anything blackmail worthy with that card.

(Meanwhile Alastor buying the most stupid shit with the hotel card in order to get a rise out of Lucifer.)

I don't think Alastor had a way to make money before the hotel. He had his radio show but he doesn't make people pay to listen to him and he doesn't do any kind of sponsorships so he never made money off of it he just does it because he loves it.

Do you know how he paid for things? VOX

Before Vox he was just a thief but after he met Vox and he started his own business he stole Vox's card.

Even after they went their separate ways Alastor never got rid of the card and Vox never cancelled it because Vox likes feeling like he's providing for Alastor and Alastor likes using Vox while giving nothing in return.

No matter what happens or how much they publicly fight and hate each other Vox will NEVER cancel that card and Alastor will NEVER get rid of it.

I absolutely loved working on this piece even though the rendering drove me insane and I now have to realize you can't even see all of it because I worked to small 😭

Alastor doesn’t hate modern technology, he hates TV because he Vox

I mean, come on, he was a radio host in life during a time when radio was so new most people didn’t even have them in their homes. The very first radio station in the USA put out its first broadcast when he was, like, 20. His greatest artistic passion is something that would classify him as a tech geek by most standards.

Vox refers to him as being outmoded not because Alastor “refuses to use modern technology” but because Vox considers his domain as outdated and also the Vees thrive solely on ratings and engagement so he’s also trying to turn public opinion against any entertainment that isn’t them

What I’m saying is Vox’s propaganda worked so well it even convinced the fandom

Finally, finally finished my Radioapple Valentine's picture.

I lost track on how long I've been working on it.

The wings slightly killed me and I just gave up trying to find Alastor's canon skin tone.

But all in all I'm really happy with this, although Lucifer's arm might be a bit skinny 😅
