Oh yeah, I do have this
It’s really been a while since I posted anything on here, but that should come to an end soon as the campaign picks up again in the coming months and I can return to the in-character posts. In the mean time, I have exciting news! I’ve recently heard back from a publisher, and a story of mine is going to be in the Fantasia Divinity Masquerade anthology! It should be out sometime this fall, though no word yet on a date.

this is possibly the most important thing I will ever reblog. Just file it under writer’s procrastination if you want to believe it’s thematically appropriate to my normal content

Achilles: I told you, I don’t want to join your super secret boy band
It is a common misconception that the ‘L’ in Samuel L Jackson’s name is an abbreviation of his middle name. In actuality, It is a roman numeral, indicating that he is the 50th descendant in the line of Samuel Jacksons, who have guarded our race since the ancient times.

Team MDNT
My RWBY team, based around sinister creatures/characters of mythology that are associated with fear, namely Medusa, Dracula, the Nekomata, and Tavara. More detailed posts on the individual characters will come later, probably, I think, if other characters don’t nag me too much.
Madeline Stoia - Wields chain scythes. Her semblance allows her to alter objects in contact within two degrees of separation to be heavier, so anything her bare skin is touching, or is touching an object her bare skin is touching. She can’t significantly alter the weight of already significantly heavy objects.
Danica Nostrimov- Uses a large ax like blade (drawing to be in character post), and upon coming into contact with a creature’s blood can use their aura to bolster her own.
Niko Mueller - The least apparently frightening of the group, Niko’s semblance allows him to handle/manipulate red hot material. He uses a steel staff embedded with fire dust to compliment this, as he can warp it into a whip, hook, or any number of useful shapes in combat.
Tal Vinra - Uses a large meat cleaver-like weapon and wears a black jester-like mask with a large smile stretching across the face and a single tassel with a silent bell on the end. His focus is less martial as it is psychological, however, as his semblance passively elevates any small amount of fear in a person to the level of their highest emotion, or, if fear is already their highest emotion, exponentially increases the amount of fear felt.
Team Skill: Execution
the team will select a strong member of a group they are fighting and separate them from the rest of the group, ensuring the rest of the group can still see the chosen opponent. Madeline will use her semblance to slow the movement of this enemy, allowing Dracula to use her weapon to lock it into place by the neck. Niko will then warp his staff to form a crossbeam and support (like an upside-down L), and Madeline will use her weapon to latch onto Tal’s, and will hoist it over the crossbeam so that all the weapons form a make-shift gallows. The enemy is then executed. When fighting Grim, this will cause the other grim to become enraged, which will then turn to fear thanks to Tal’s semblance, which has varying effect, but is rather often very beneficial to the team.

Every night, you see me behind you. You notice me as you brush your teeth before bed, while you’re walking from the kitchen after a midnight snack. You stiffen, and I can see the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Sometimes, you start to turn, but you always catch yourself and keep moving. You convince yourself that I’m a figment of your imagination, and you’ve never looked back. The thing is, I’m just as scared to see your face as you are to see mine.
I don’t know why I’m here. I don’t know why I follow you. I don’t even know if I have a choice to do anything else. All I know is you can never see me. I can never look you in the eyes. I don’t know why. I think I’ll be punished...or you will. I don’t think I could take it if either one happened. I’ve never known anything besides being at your side, every night, unseen. I don’t know how I would handle that changing. I can hardly imagine anything different. And if you got hurt, because of seeing me...that would be worse, I think.
You’ve always dealt with your life at night. That’s when you confront your emotions, your troubles, your doubts. I’ve heard you say it. You talk to yourself, sometimes interrupting your own thoughts to ask why you always face these problems at night. I’ve heard you. I know your hopes, your dreams, your fears, your loves, and your hates. I know you. And after all that time, listening, how could I not come to care about you?
Maybe that’s why I’m here. Maybe I’m supposed to listen. Maybe you’re not talking to yourself, but to me.

I am the ominous black shape in your peripheral vision.

Helrunan
(Recurrent character in stories of mine. A lot of the terminology will explained in another post)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral/Evil
Origins: Helrunan is a powerful, ancient necromancer from a long forgotten village in the heart of Sunerta. He showed great magical aptitude from an early age, being able to channel spirits through Mediums instinctively by the age of 5. By 7, he was sent off to study under a Master Archanologist (whose name has been lost to time) to hone his skills and become a Mage. However, after 3 years of study under his master, Helrunan grew frustrated with his lack of ability to explain one simple question; why were the dark arts taboo? Seeing no distinction in ethical value of a Spirit or a Soul, or a living or non-living Vessel, Helrunan insisted to be allowed to study the taboo practices of Necromancy and Biological Automancy. The master, of course, banned this, and when he caught Helrunan practicing Necromancy in a make-shift lab on a number of animals (and according to some accounts, a child who had recently gone missing from a local village) the Master attempted to kill Helrunan and prevent the horrors his talent could unleash. The supposed Master failed in this, however, and Helrunan made him into the first of his horrors. While killing the master, Helrunan trapped his Soul in a nearby Vessel, and removed his former Master’s skull, still attached to the spine, and fashioned them into a staff to which he then transferred the Master’s Soul, creating an extremely powerful Necromantic talisman.
Death: As the Order of Balance came to rule over the Northern City of Tenalta, Helrunan lead a revolt against the Order in a final effort to prevent its rise. He called this “the Rebellion Against the Unnatural,” though most historians, especially in Tenalta, came to call it the Unnatural Rebellion, because of the cause against which Helrunan fought and the unnatural means used. While war generally favors a Necromancer, Helrunan was able to be defeated by the Order. The official histories state that this was due to the natural superiority of Balanced and Pure Magic over Helrunan’s dark arts, though many folk tales cite overwhelming numbers, or a sneak attack as the cause of the Necromancer’s demise. There are many more stories, including one local legend states that the Order used Helrunan’s own arts against him, though there is no evidence to support this, and it is disregarded by even the most liberal of historians.

Chronos
(for Boku no Hero Academia homebrew RPG)
real name: John Eugene Smith
nationality: American
Affiliation/Alignment: Hero, Chaotic Good
Quirk: Wind the Clock. Can cast himself forward or backward in time. Technically he can cast forward and backward for as long as he has been/will be alive, but it’s not so easy. He can only go as far as he remembers, so as a memory fades, what he sees in the past becomes fuzzy and vague. The further he goes into the future, he’ll see more potential futures, and if he goes to far it becomes nearly impossible to gain any useful information from it, and it can be rather disorienting. Because of this, he can only move totally freely for about 5 seconds in either direction.
General Stuff: He was born with what looks like a large brass pocket watch in the center of his chest. This in part has lead to him having a strong sense of aesthetic. Because of this sense, he hates his actual name, and has been going by Chronos since he was 5, thanks in part to his parents positions as professors of ancient literature. He claims that his desire to be a hero because of his aesthetic, but in reality when he was 12 he delved deep into the future and found that in all but 15-20 of thousands of futures, his parents are killed by a villain in front of him. He cannot remember what villain killed them or why, he only remembers seeing their deaths a thousand times, and decides he must become a hero (like the ones in his parent’s stories) to prevent their murders. He will also use Wind the Clock to be able to write a very complex signature that takes 2 minutes to sketch in much less time, because aesthetic.

That moment when you are your Starfinder character
I was gonna just make note of the fact that there hasn’t been a session in a while and therefore nothing for me to post about in character, then I realized I only have two followers, and honestly Scrip would probably make the same mistake of overestimating how many people follow him on Splat. Anyway, gonna be posting about other characters I’m making for various things (not just RPG’s) to fill the content void for a bit. y’know, for all two of you.

The orc horde is coming. Well, “horde” might be generous. And only a few of them are orcs. A lot of them are just dressed as orcs. The guy that hired them really wanted an orc horde, so he calls them that anyway.
The orc horde is coming. They are numerous, well-armed, well-trained, and each a maximum of 30cm tall.

Don’t Trust the News!
I don’t think these reports of a pink ysoki terrorist bear much credence...they say he told the police of the plot? We all know ysoki are smarter than that. He was probably trying to warn them about the actual terrorists...
