The main character is Dave, who is immortal, actually Sheogorath with dubious awareness of it, and with loose moral standards after being around for so long. His issue is he really loves Hulda and the group of friends he's found this time, especially Jesper and Keith (who obviously found their way together) and Kevin; but they are all getting older, and Dave doesn't want to let go of yet another happy space.

And what's wrong with rewinding time so they can have some more fun together, anyway?

So he does. Hulda and friends don't notice, and they go on living as if they'd just woken up to a regular day in their youth. Dave and Hulda are still an item. Jesper and Keith are walking disasters around each other, and they end up together again. Kevin tries his best.

Everything went fine, so, when old age returns, he rewinds time again. And again. And again. And again.

It starts having effects on everyone. They start knowing things they shouldn't. They feel the weight of a soul way older than their bodies. Mundus itself starts breaking, Alduin becoming a menace and being eventually defeated by the Dragonborn more often than it makes sense. Dave starts getting paranoid too.

Eventually, while they get together once more, Keith and Jesper figure it out. They tell Kevin and Hulda, and she especially tries to find a way to get through to Dave, make him understand that, eventually, he has to let them go; and doing otherwise is just corrupting them, and making him hurt even more.

Possible bittersweet ending: last loop, Dave finds someone else to take up Sheogorath's mantle, sidetracks the Dragonborn long enough (like that's a difficult thing to do) to make himself get consumed by Alduin, that finally stops him from being immortal, and the gang can finally chill in the afterlife with no Daedric shenanigans.

Oof. Dark. Angsty but also really sweet in a sad way. A really good prompt. Posted.

A possibility older Keith (middle-aged or more) has been with Jesper for a while, and is now regretting selling his soul to Nocturnal to become a Nightingale. Possible solutions:

1) Action route: they kick Nocturnal to make her break the contract.

2) Smart route: they find a loophole in the contract, possibly enact some angsty plan.

3) Stupid route: Jesper also sells his soul so they can be together in the afterlife, not considering Keith won't have it and will be very pissed off.

Ooo this is a good one! There are a lot of directions this could be taken. Plus it's a rare 'established relationship' premise which is always fun. Posted!

When dealing with future events, the Elder Scrolls only settle on their definitive version after they have already happened: before then, all they show is possible futures.

One day, the Dragonborn (either one of them) opens their scroll to check their favourite horker stew recipe for the umpteenth time; but what they see is not cuisine. By looking slightly up and to the left of their usual spot, they see a guard and a thief sharing a tender kiss under warm covers.

Spotting a perfect chance for slightly less unhinged mischief (bless their dragon soul), they paint that for the upcoming Whiterun Art and Wine Festival instead of another creep series.

Jesper sees it. Dave drags Keith to the festival so he can see it too. Embarrassment ensues. But is it only embarrassment? Is this all a joke, or is this a prophecy worth considering?

And the Scrolls have foretold, of two silly men feeling cold...

People have extra lives, like cats do in superstition, but don't know how many lives they have left. Only those particularly attuned to death can tell. Assassins, for example: you wouldn't want to botch a Black Sacrament by stopping too soon.

Keith's sister stops in Whiterun for some business, and notices that both Keith and the guard he's "totally not thinking about all the time" are short on lives. This is not about the Dragonborn being a danger either, she can tell they are both being poisoned.

She lets her brother know, but has to leave to move on with another job. Keith and Jesper have to find out who is doing this, why are they doing it that way instead of being more direct, and also what should they do now that they know they don't have many lives left? Should they just smooch already?

(Probably involves skooma, court conspiracies, and bitter exes)

The idea I mentioned yesterday (for me) where Lenny and his wife need to leave the house for reasons and they ask Keith to look after the child who Keith already cares about and Jesper comes to visit and they babysit together. This can go 2 directions 1. when they're already together and this makes them want to adopt a child from Honorhall 2. they bond over looking after a child lol

Off the top of my head but one of them is a vampire or a werewolf and the other is a normal human and they first meet and as they get to know each other and get attached, they could start to figure out how to deal with the other, like a werewolf shifting or a vampire's thirst.

Beach Episode

Idea: Beach episode one shot where the guys either a) go to the hot springs in Eastmarch b) travelled to Hammerfell for some reason and go to the beach there.

No stakes, no real plot, just guys being dudes and enjoying a vacation.

Dave could probably teleport them to a random beach in Hammerfell with one of his necronomicons

Hurt Comfort AU

Keith is a miserable mage in Winterhold, Jesper in a miserable guard who got transferred in Winterhold. They become buddies over their shared shitty jobs, and eventually they run away to Riften together.

A very neurodiverse-positive episodic series where Keith, almost by accident, finds the one trick Jesper needed to be able to properly focus at work.

Jesper's newly unlocked potential turns him into Skyrim's most skilled detective, so he starts being requested across all holds to solve their mysteries.

A surprised, amazed, and increasingly pining Keith follows him around as his sidekick, helping him find details and dealing with the less legal parts of Jesper's investigations.

Touch link AU

Jesper was cursed as a kid so where if he touched anyone, both parties swap a memory. The nature of his abilities are random and uncontrollable.  If he were to touch someone, there's no way for him to choose what memories of his the person would experience.   There's also no way for that person to know what memory he receives of theirs in return. As such, Jesper was taught to wear gloves and keep his skin covered his whole life, so he wouldn't accidentally swap memories with anyone. If anyone found out he could do this, it could put him in danger, for obvious reasons. Not to mention, to touch someone without consent would be like ripping something incredibly private from them.  It would also be forcing something private from Jesper's mind into theirs. Neither would know what the other had seen and it would be incredibly violating to both. Especially considering the hell Jesper has lived growing up... So what happens when a certain thief gets curious why Jesper never takes his helmet or gloves off, regardless of being off shift or not. Keith's a curious guy, and loves to antagonize Jesper, and when Jesper refuses to "loosen up", and warns Keith off it, it just makes him more determined to find out what Jesper is hiding. When he finds out, he gets a lot more than he bargained for. And now Jesper knows just exactly why Keith hates his father....

Jesper and Keith run into Sam Guevenne, who convinces them to have a drinking contest. Instead of waking up married to a hag raven, they wake up married to each other. Due to fear and social obligations they are forced to pretend for a while, until they are able to believably say that it didn't work out, and then divorce. Roommate AU

Jesper gets fired, he's down on his luck, and Dave being a good friend, gets him into the Thieves Guild, but there isn't enough rooms for everyone and since a lot of them already share their rooms, Keith, being one of the only members with a room to himself has no choice but to share, much to his dismay. (Dave may or may not have some dirt on the higher ups)

So now they're roomies, but also Jesper can't do anything thievery related to save his life, so Dave talks Keith into teaching Jesper the basics. As Keith teaches him, he finds out Jesper has other abilities that would be much better suited for him (i.e. magic) so they change courses

Fake dating AU

Jesper's family is visiting and he said he had a boyfriend (he doesn't) so they wouldn't try to set him up with someone. He asks Keith to be his fake boyfriend for however long his family is in town and Keith accepts after they strike a deal (Jesper will not be allowed to arrest him for two months and let him stay over when it rains).

After Jesper's family leave, they go back to their normal lives, except now they have ~feelings~.

When Jesper and his "boyfriend" get invited to Jesper's family function in High Rock, Jesper wants to reply saying they've broken up, but Keith says he'll do it.

Cut to them having to travel all the way to High Rock together, live in close quarters and try to pretend they don't have ~feelings~.

Thieves Guild AU

Prince of the Thieves guild but make it literal. the Thieves Guild became so powerful they took over Riften.

So now they have a hierarchy system going on, with the Guild Master at the top and Keith being a Nightingale making him pretty high up in the guild hierarchy list.

Jesper is sent along with Dave and Kevin and other members of a delegation to see what the fuck is going on in Riften.

Turns out Riften is doing great now that they've overthrown the government. Keith is put in charge of watching over the delegation to make sure they don't start shit.

He argues with Jesper a lot regarding the way the Thieves Guild is running things, Jesper learns that the Thieves Guild really isn't that bad (and the good looking guy following him around has nothing to do with it)

Corrupt guard Keith and Down on his luck thief Jesper who's reallyyy bad at stealing. He just needs to steal stuff to survive and Keith just looks the other way lol.

Time Travel

Time Travel AU Keith and Jesper are mildly antagonistic, but over time develop a friendship. something happens where Keith gets sick and his enemies take advantage and he gets captured. Jesper saves his ass, at the cost of his own life. Keith, distraught because he realized only THEN that he had been in love with Jesper, laments that he wishes he could have told him sooner. That he could just *start over* and might have been better to him/did things differently. A certain Davedric prince of Canada overhears him say this at Jesper's funeral and decides to give Keith what he asks for. but one problem. he sends Keith back to the day they met for the first time.

And Keith wakes up in this new timeline in Dragonsreach jail, after having already antagonized Jesper - so Jesper has a bad opinion of him already
