I've been really into Bernardo Kastrup lately. In this video, he talks about what he thinks happens when we die and the meaning of life. He also contrasts what he calls "analytic idealism" with the current scientific model of reality, which is "materialism." Under "analytic idealism," consciousness is the fundamental baseline of the universe, whereas "materialism" thinks that consciousness arises from inanimate physical matter. I found this very interesting. [x]

I just got done watching a 2.5-hour long video conversation between Rupert Spira and Bernardo Kastrup (moderated by Simon Mundie on Simon's podcast). It was one of the greatest things I've ever watched, discussing the nature of consciousness and purpose and fulfillment and suffering. I can't recommend it enough. In particular, I really enjoyed this short segment where Rupert and Bernardo discuss the difference between ego purposes/desires/goals and aligning yourself with what nature wants to do through you. My father brought King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne to see the Wall. His Grace stood at this very outlook and watched as their dragons, the greatest power in the world, refused to cross it. Do you think my ancestors built a 700-foot wall of ice to keep out snow and savages? HOUSE OF THE DRAGON — 2.01: A Son for a Son

In this clip, Osho was speaking to Veeresh Denny Yuson-Sánchez, a therapist and founder of Humaniversity. Veeresh asked Osho about three fears that continually came up in his therapy practice: 1) the fear of going crazy 2) the fear of letting go in sexual orgasm and 3) the fear of dying. These three fears kept coming up again and again among his clients and he asked Osho to comment about these fears. (Video taken from the longer talk: "The Last Testament" Vol. 2 Discourse 16) [x]
