Billy Hargrove Tried

This was the line between good and evil. Right and wrong. His choices made all the difference. (The ones he could make) This moment where everything hung motionless and where the air was thick with Something heavy. He used to love fireworks.

Billy Hargrove never said he was a good person, but even he had standards. This fugly meat puppet might control his body, but his mind was his own and he refused to lay down and let it happen if he could help it so he waited. This thing was no Neil Hargrove to make him cower against his closet, words raining down on him like an avalanche.

So when the opportunity came to break free he took it. A little girl holding out her hand was what it took to pull him out of the dark and the cold. All he could do to tell her was stare and hope she understood. He didn't want to do this. -He was thankful and hateful at the same time because she woke him up enough for the first cracks in the beasts control to appear. He began a long, futile fight. God he was already tired. It took everything he had not to just let himself sink back into the darkness again. However. Billy just. Never knew when to quit did he?

Later, When he saw the kids in the car infront of the mall he revved his engine , pleading. " Stop me. Move. Do something. Please." To an empty car. So when Nancy Wheeler takes out her gun he thinks. Finally. Someone smart enough to end this before I hurt anyone else.

When his own control started to slip he screamed. The blunt force trauma of the wreck weakening his faint grasp on his own psyche. When he came to again that little girl was face to face with him. Hands on his cheeks. He could see his mother. The beach. A memory he didn't even know he still had. It was seven feet. A flower on his mom's dress. The smell of the ocean. He choked on a sob.  Knowing what he had to do. So he smiles a feral thing full of hopelessness and at the same time peace. " Thank you" he tells the little girl. Eleven he knows now. Jane. " Be ready" he warns her. She gave him a gift. The least he could do was make it mean something. He gets up, swallowing back the bile. The fear. They didn't need to see that. He took three steps forward, the beast moved lightning quick. Somehow. Strength flowing through him as he caught the tentacles. He pushes them back just long enough for two others to impale him. Billy didn't scream. He roared. Anger pushing him through the pain. He could atleast give them long enough to- he hit the floor with a grunt. Eyes blurring. He could see red. Max?. Max. " I'm sorry" he smiles. Sad this time. She screams and cries over him but he's too far gone to tell her it's okay. To explain himself. Her friends drag her away and he thinks. I'm scared. But atleast it's dead. Vicious satisfaction was the last thing he felt before the sky fell and he knew nothing but darkness.

Dandelion’s are a neat little weed, unique because EVERY PART of the plant is safe for consumption! Yes, the heads, the leaves and stems, the roots, are all safe to eat. heart warming potato soup

- 🌿🍲🐌🍄✨

this soup.. is a cure all. break up? bad day? lazy day? rainy day? stormy day? repressed all your feelings for too long and now they’re coming to the surface far too rapidly to get a grasp on and this was all you could manage to pour yourself into as some form of healing spellwork.. day? try this soup! aha

originally when i made this i was slugging around the kitchen throwing sh*t in the pot but i think i retained enough to slap a recipe together so here goes!

[ potato soup ]

• 2 medium yukon golds (or 3 small)

• salt

• thyme

• pepper

• 1/4 sm onion

• 2-3 cloves of garlic

• butter

• flour

• 1 tbs sour cream

• handful of sharp cheddar

[ steps ]

cube up and boil your potatoes in some salted water, throw some thyme and pepper in the water too, do the toothpick/fork thing and when it’s time to strain save maybe a cup of the liquid for later, throw the potatoes back into the pot a sec to sautee up with your onion and garlic and some butter for a sec, just enough to infuse the flavour

chuck it into a food processor or blender to get it smooth with about 2 tbs of butter or substitute and however much of that reserved liquid it takes to get it just smooth enough to blend nice

now! get your butter and flour and make a little roux real quick, just adds a nice texture and flavour density to the soup but you could omit, from here stir in your potato sludge and more liquid as needed to reach your desired consistency

add a little more salt pepper and thyme, maybe some more garlic powder if it needs it, stir in a handful or so of sharp cheddar and about a tbs of sour cream; ofc you can omit or sub both of these if you’re vegan/lactose, let the soup simmer and serve up with a sprinkle of thyme and/or fresh cracked pepper :)

Summer solstice honey cakes ☀️🌻

Happy summer solstice! Here’s a recipe to honour the day:

(Makes about 30 cupcakes or 2 big cakes)

Ingredients:

Cake:

450g plain flour

225g butter

4 tbsp honey

150g sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp salt

4 eggs

250 ml milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Icing:

150g icing sugar

20 ml water

1 tsp cinnamon

As much honey as you want

Lavender (optional)

1. Lay out cake cases or grease your tray if you are making one big cake and preheat your oven to 180C/350F

2. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together

3. Add the eggs, honey, butter, milk and vanilla extract and mix until smooth

4. Put the mixture into whatever you are baking it in

5. Bake for 20mins (cupcakes) or 40mins (big cake)

6. Whilst cakes are baking prepare your icing. Mix together the icing sugar, water, cinnamon and honey until smooth. Add more water if you need to.

7. Once the cakes are done, take them out and leave to cool

8. When the cakes are cool, drizzle the icing onto them. Add lavender if you wish

9. Eat!
