A commissioned piece for an anime convention out of Ohio. Their theme was cyberpunk so it was super fun to lean into that.

This Grocery Gal is particularly special to me. Like Old Bay and Natty Boh, if you grew up in Maryland and don’t like Utz Snacks, they revoke your state citizenship. I don’t make the rules, folks.

Resharing with the backstory:

This was the thank you card I designed for folks who attended our wedding. My dear friend and Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh voice actor Jake Paque did a speech at the reception where he changed the lyrics to the "Ducktales" theme song and made it "Kevin & Sammi Tales" which inspired this parody of the NES game box art. That's him on the far left of the helicopter along with our ring bearer/MC Jimmy Hart, one of my groomsmen Ryan, and my new wife piloting the chopper with me hanging off the rope. On the cliff face is groomsman Rob, Matthew our officiant, and Bob the DJ. I included them on this card as a special thank you for the massive help they were at the wedding. Love these guys and had a lot of fun with this one.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Sammi and I opted for cake pops provided by Brooke's House Coffee & Chocolate on a cake form tower I designed and built. We shared the two gold pops with mini tag team championship belts at the reception.

Jimmy Hart in Memphis during the early 80s has all the makings of a tumblr sexyman and it’s damn travesty more folks don’t know about it.

Yes, I'm making a Memphis Wrestling music video in the year of our Lord 2025. I am so obsessed with Jimmy and Jerry's feud... Like of course they have some feuds with others too during these 5 years, but it always goes back to them. At the end of the day, they're back at each other's throats. What are they without each other?

"You say you never knew me, boy, I think ya do"

Also the tragedy that is them once being friends, that both of them helped each other out with their respective talent - music and wrestling. They definitely know each other - but Jerry is the one who changed. (Heel to a Babyface!)

So yeah, this completely possessed my brain and wouldn't let me do anything else until this was done, haha. Thanks for watching! 💖

Our wedding favors included this "Official Matrimonial Soundtrack" CD made to look like a vinyl record. The design was based of the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack. WWE Hall of Fame Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart was our ring bearer and MC which is why he's featured so prominently here.

As a fun bonus, Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" was a hidden track. Yes. We rick-rolled our wedding guests.
