Why Sailor Jupiter is Better than Ever

Y'know, if there's a character that has resonated with me so much is Sailor Jupiter. Too many times in society (mainly social media) a woman falling in love or wanting a husband has been equated to being "weak" or "not a girlboss." With the new Snow White remake and all, people keep thinking a woman wanting love or loving "feminine" or "wife-ly" stuff such as cooking or cleaning equates to a weak female character or a female character who's "bland." (Just look at how Snow White and Cinerella get unwarranted hate. They get hate for being "bland" or "too worthless" just for being feminine, dreaming of true love, or having "dainty" characteristics such as cooking or cleaning.)

But...Sailor Jupiter/Makoto absolutely flips that. Let me explain here: what I love so much about her character is that she shows that just because she's a strong tough girl that doesn't mean she's inherently "masculine" or can't have "feminine" traits such as cooking, cleaning, wanting a husband, dreaming of love, etc. She shows you can be both a strong woman, whilst still having traits society may deem as "feminine" or "dainty," such as wanting love. With all these hate reasons towards Snow White and Cinderella, I feel like she just totally flips it. A strong and badass female character who still wants love, wants a husband, etc. Just really resonates with me and shows just because a female character wants love or has goals such as wanting a husband that doesn't mean she's weak. I feel she just really flips those tropes.

(Ps, before anyone gets angry- I'm not saying female characters can't be masculine or anything. I'm just saying a female character can have "feminine" or "wife-ly" goals or traits such as wanting a husband or cooking while still being a great character or strong physically.)

Y'know, I love Sailor Mars/Rei. Seriously, I think she’s a great character who I strongly identify with due to her issues with accepting love. I love her design, voice, personality, everything really! And…I got to her Casablanca backstory in volume 4.

I’m sorry but…WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT HER BACKSTORY??? Her backstory was honestly really depressing and had a really somber feel to it, along with major creepiness. If you read it, she basically got groomed by her dad’s colleague. Just think about how messed up some of the stuff is. Her mom dies, her dad is barely there leading to her hating him (understandably), and then she gets groomed by his grown up colleague. All of these made up her views on love, and explains why she struggles to accept affection and why her view on relationships is the way it is, it adds so much depth to her character but is also really sad to be honest. I mean, she got groomed by the colleague of the man who she hated. Not to mention this is a really sad truth on what happens in real life. Many times groomers get away Scott free with no consequences, and their victims don’t report them due to them not seeing how bad it really is. This story also adds a lot more depth to her! It explains why her view on love/men has been messed up, it explains her actions and views more, and just really added to her character for me. In which, as I said- this backstory is sadly very overlooked due to it not being animated. I just feel really bad for Rei and feel like she deserves a lot more, along with more recognition for how well written she is!

In short: Rei is a beautiful character and I feel like her backstory is extremely overlooked due to it not being animated, despite how sad it really is along with some creepy stuff in it. It also added a lot more layers and depth to her overall character and helped me understand her even more. Also, fuck Kaido-San (the colleague)

I was scrolling through the zenin clan tag and i stumbled upon your posts and i just gotta praise you for handling that naoya glazer anon. I love mai she's actually so well written but the fandom just ignores that because of their first impression of her. I don't blame them for not liking her since i also didn't, when i read the manga i finally realized how great if a character she is, that scene with her and maki really stuck out to me at my second rewatch. For real, I didn't like her too much at first but after re-reading JJKIi've come to appreciate her character a lot more. While I wish Gege gave her more time and maybe fleshed her out a bit more, she is in fact a well written character and extremely undermined. (Although, most JJK fans can't even understand Megumi or Maki as characters. So I can't say I'm surprised lmao)

Fr...Like, it's so obvious she's a victim? It was wrong of her to be a dick to Nobara/Megumi yes, but she is in fact a victim of abuse. And her story is honestly depressing to read. (I almost cried during her conclusion and I almost never cry when watching or reading media lol)

Doing a face inspo for Mai sounds fun! She definitely has the most distinctive face of all the young, female characters in the show. It's very strong, sharp and high fashion... So sharp it could puncture the hull of an Empire-class Fire Nation battleship...
