I've finally finished it!

After a number of hours days I do not dare to count, i have compiled the links to ALL the artworks this fandom created (and i could find) and posted on tumblr.

I have also looked for art on other platforms but this is not, of course, as exhaustive as the tumblr list. I have indeed compiled the links to the different arts of more than a hundred artists. I explain my goal later in this post so please keep reading before reblogging^^.

Anyway the result of this work is :

Two excellent docs have been made to create an archive for the kinnporsche fandom:

-The "Damn good meta doc" (curated by @luckydragon10 )

-The "Damn good shitposting doc" (curated by @happyminyards)

I have decided to echo those ideas and to create a doc collecting links to all the art this fandom has created.

This document will change and grow as people send me new links to new art so do not hesitate to contact me privately on my tumblr blog or tag me in the comments of your art with : @gouinetteparletrop.

I accept links from all platforms (tumblr, instagram, twitter, deviantart,weibo…) as long as this is not a repost but the original creator account.

I will not accept any art that has been stolen.

I’m making this doc art in the hope that people will give more visibility to all artists. 

On tumblr this means reblogging art you like in order to help the post reach more audience. 

On other platforms it would be leaving a comment under the post to encourage the creator. The fandom is only alive thanks to content creators, help them keep it alive by supporting them.

I've decided to build this doc as it follows: 

1-Big categories corresponding to the platforms where the art has been posted on.

2-Under those platforms sections, I will separate traditional art and digital art.

3-Under those categories i will categorize the art under the following sections: ship / characters / actors (i will add the ships, the characters, or the actors as soon as there is art made of them. If no art exist for them, they will not be listed)

4-Under those categories, the artists will be listed alphabetically.

5-Under each artist name will be links to all the art posts they made.Each link will have a short description of the piece.

Tip: When you're looking for something I recommend that you use the sidebar of the google doc that is divided in chapters.

AITA for not informing my son’s K(27) boyfriend P(24) that his mother is not dead?

I know the title sounds crazy, but please hear me out before you make your judgement. My son K(27) has been dating P(24) for a couple of months. They moved in together shortly after they started dating even though I wasn’t very happy about it.

Last week, while having lunch together, my son’s boyfriend was reminded of his parents. He continued to quietly eat his lunch but afterwards he confronted his uncle about some things I won’t disclose to respect their privacy. His uncle must have lead P to believe that I was the person with all the answers to his questions.

While P confronted me about his parents and how I knew them when my son wasn’t there, I answered his questions truthfully but decided against telling him that his mother isn’t dead like he believes.

So, AITA?

EDIT: Many of you asked me in the comments why I chose to keep that information to myself. Well, P is going through a rough time. He lost his job fairly recently, his little brother got in trouble after K’s ex-boyfriend got in touch with K. It was all too much and I thought that me telling him would just overwhelm him more. I wanted to give him some time to process all that happened.

EDIT 2: I see that you keep questioning the authorities and why they chose to disclose the information about P’s mother to me rather than her own son. You see, I forgot to mention that P’s mother is my adoptive sister - something I actually did mention to P when he came to me with his questions (after he went to see his uncle). He was a bit shaken up when he found out, which is another reason why I didn’t tell him. P believed he was orphaned at the age of 11 and I thought telling him about his mother a decade later right in the middle of a stressful situation would not be the best.

EDIT 3: For those of you calling me the asshole, I think you are incorrect. I acted in P’s best interest. P’s memories of the time he was orphaned are scrambled at best. He doesn’t remember the accident and the aftermath, as the whole experience was a bit traumatic for a child his age.

EDIT 4: For those asking if P and K grew up together and then started dating - the answer is no. My sister moved out of the family home and separated herself from the family business to raise her children. P and K met for the first time when P was 23, right as P started working at my company. I recognised P immediately, because of his striking resemblance to his mother. I chose to not disclose my familial relationship with P’s mother, because at the time he was simply an employee and I did not see the point of doing so. When he started dating my son, there simply wasn’t a good time to bring it up.

EDIT 5: Questions about the accident itself have been raised: I can’t disclose much, for legal reasons but: my adoptive sister’s N(48) husband died in a very unfortunate accident - there was a gun in the house without the safety on and during a heated argument the weapon accidentally fired, hitting my brother-in-law in the back, killing him instantly. P was present, hiding in one of the cupboards playing hide and seek with his younger brother at the time… which we found out about later. My sister N was absolutely inconsolable about what happened so I took her out of the house (while the rest of the people present dealt with my brother-in-law and the kids), back to our family home. While I went to call our family doctor, she tried to kill herself in my bathroom. We managed to save her, but her memory has been affected. She can’t remember who she is, who her sons are or what happened that day. I thought it would be better to not tell P that his mother is alive because she can’t even remember him and I thought it would only cause him more pain.

UPDATE 09/07/2022: Thank you to the few of you who actually read all the edits and my reasoning for not telling P, saying that I am not the asshole. For those who voted that I am the asshole, saying I should come clean about what happened (telling me it’s P’s right to make decisions regarding his own mother and his relationship with her), I have an update: P now knows his mother is alive!

UPDATE 2 10/07/2022: Some of you wanted to know how it went. Two days ago, during a heated argument, my son K and his boyfriend P stormed into my hidden office at home and discovered my adoptive sister N there. P recognised her instantly, he screamed at me for ruining his life and hiding his mother from him, threatened to kill me (the boy is a bit emotional, I must say). My son stopped him from doing so. P proceeded to hug his mother and tried to reunite with her, but she did not recognised him. I revealed the whole truth about the accident and explained to P why I chose to hide N and the fact that she was still alive. It’ll take some time to adjust to this new reality, especially for P and his younger brother P(17). But on a lighter note, I gave my son one of our family heirlooms (a ring) to give to his boyfriend as a way to show him he is part of the family. P accepted. They’re now on their way to take over the family businesses (symbolically for now, as I am still the one in charge). So, in the end, all turned out well!

Not for nothing, the representation of Porsche’s bisexuality means a lot to me as a bi person who didn’t figure out my identity until my early 20s. The journey that he goes through in the first half of the show, from a presumed straight man to a bisexual man in love with another man, is written and acted with so much empathy and grace. Porsche’s feelings about his identity and presentation of self are allowed to be confused, hesitant, and complicated without him being homophobic or misogynistic. The result is a more subtle arc of self-discovery, but such an important one. Porsche may not have deep-rooted internal prejudices but he still exists within oppressive structures that shape all our lives whether we want them to or not. Even though he doesn’t deny or dislike his feelings for Kinn, he does quietly struggle sometimes with the discomfort of being queer in a world that sees queer as “other.”

I think part of why this hits so hard is Apo himself. Now I don’t really follow the actors very closely and I try hard to separate the art from the artist, so I don’t want to place too much weight on this. But I do think Apo really brings a particular level of empathy and nuance to Porsche’s identity that deserves appreciation. Apo has spoken a number of times about how much he struggled with homophobic treatment in the Thai film/TV industry through the course of his career. He was often asked invasive questions about his sexuality, made fun of for the way he dresses and presents himself, and demeaned for being feminine or not masculine enough. It seems to have been a key factor in his decision to leave the industry (and even Thailand) entirely.

To be clear, he’s never made any public statement about his sexuality or gender identity, and it’s no one’s business to presume or ask about how he identifies. The problem was that, regardless of how he actually identified, homophobia had a big impact on him personally and professionally. Homophobia (along with all other forms of hate and violence) doesn’t hurt just queer people—it hurts everyone, because it confines and regulates people’s lives/bodies, and punishes deviations, big and small, from the norm.

Apo has some pretty incredible gender vibes to be honest. Something about his mannerisms, his face, his fashion choices, his presentation, just strikes keen envy in my nonbinary bisexual heart lol. And he brings that nuance into Porsche’s character so beautifully. Porsche gets to be tender as he is tough, someone who cares for his loved ones and shows affection without being demeaned for it. He’s allowed to be this strong, tall, muscular guy without it being prescriptive of his internal feelings and personality and how he presents in his voice and mannerisms. No one (least of all him) is policing his body and gender in the way queer people, particularly queer men, so often deal with. He gets to just be.

The freedom in that, for me at least, feels like a revelation. I feel loved when I watch Porsche, because his journey as a bisexual man isn’t rooted in his own repression or external prejudice. Even when he identified as straight, he didn’t behave or present in a way that was engineered to convey heterosexuality or even masculinity. He was already comfortable in his skin, and figuring out his sexuality was more of an internal journey than one centered on his body and how the world perceives it.

Obviously there’s nothing wrong with identity crises/questions/discoveries that do involve repression or homophobia (mine certainly does, thanks Catholic school 🙃). But I think it’s really neat that Porsche’s arc doesn’t, because it brings up questions that often get buried under the avalanche of homophobic/misogynistic/transphobic shit that unfortunately we so often have to wade through to come to our own queer identities. And that’s why I mentioned Apo’s experience, because I really think that as someone who’s had such a hard time in the industry in the past—precisely because he does step outside rigid gender norms—he really gets how homophobia shapes a person’s understanding of their own body. And consciously or unconsciously, he created in Porsche a character who could be free, for fucking once, of that heavy weight around his neck.

So basically, I hope he knows how much that means to a lot of people, not just me. And I hope that playing Porsche has given him some amount of comfort or healing or validation. He gave homophobia and misogyny a massive middle finger through this character, and I hope that and his continued outspokenness about his experience make everyone think twice before policing people’s gender and bodies.

So I know that the popular/accepted fanon is to believe that when Porsche finally realizes literally anything about what’s going on with Porchay and Kim, he’ll be angry and protective and distrustful of Kim…

BUT. Hear me out. I would like to propose a funnier alternative.

What if in the aftermath of everything Yok shows Porsche the CCTV from her bar, and Porsche, who, let us not forget:

1. is a former professional street fighter

2. has spent his life taking care of his little brother

3. it’s worth saying again: a former professional street fighter

is not instantly upset or distrustful but is instead like, “Kinn. Kinn. I love you. But why the fuck didn’t you tell me that your younger brother is by far the coolest member of your family.”

Kinn is horrified. Khun is horrified. They both believe absolutely that Porsche should think they are the coolest member of the family. Littlest brother doesn’t even deserve a place on the ranking. Porsche, for his part, cannot believe them. He is so offended they have been hiding the only cool member of the family from him! And he’s annoyed that Chay never introduced them, until Chay very awkwardly explains what all went down, at which point Porsche, who is also, let us not forget:

4. basically gay mafia married to a problematic violent mafia prince of his own

is like, “Yeah, that was uncool of him, you’re right, that was bad, super bad–but like you saw this, right? Did you see this shit?” And forces Chay to watch the CCTV footage from the bar as well, and is clearly already imagining doing Kim’s fighting moves himself, and Chay has flashbacks to all the times he had to watch Porsche practicing fighting moves in the yard, and he realizes he needs to move to Antarctica because his life is about to get extremely annoying.

And when Porsche and Kim finally meet–properly, while nobody is shooting at anybody or kidnapped or whatever–Porsche punches him (Kim dodges and blocks the first two, but Porsche lands the third and lands it well) and says, “That’s for breaking his heart, and also for leaving him alone in a room full of bodies. Don’t do it again.” Then he gives Kim a hug–which Kim is absolutely not prepared for and cannot process at all–and says, “And that’s for protecting him.”

Then Porsche challenges Kim to spar and Kim, stunned but still a master of emotional avoidance, jumps out the window to escape.
