So the Doctor has out right said he was a father once, so we know the Doctor's already had at least 1 kid presumably as the First Doctor. And the original assumption was that kid (or a sibling?) was one of Susan's parents since, obviously, Susan is the Doctor's grandkid, ergo must be the child of the Doctor's child.

But thanks to retcons that have me side-eying RTD's Disney!Who hard, the Doctor has established that he has no idea which of his kids Susan is the daughter of but he assume's it's one he hasn't had yet. Which wasn't something that should have been retconned without a plan (and I doubt there was one here) but whatever. I can speculate plot-hole fixing theories for this now.

So Theory 1: Susan is Jenny's daughter. The Doctor doesn't know Jenny survived and it would make sense that Jenny would send Susan to nearest incarnation of the Doctor if something came up and they were separated. Her father could be someone from Jenny's Big Finish Adventures stories or someone else entirely.

Theory 2: Susan is the daughter of a child the Doctor had before the mind wipe/memory reset that led to the First Doctor. The Doctor's had some memory leakage over the years of their pre-First Doctor lives, most recently the thing with Anansi and his daughter but there've been other instances in original Doctor Who that can now be attributed to memories from lives the Doctor was forced to forget.

So imagine Susan shows up calling the Doctor 'Grandfather' and they steal the same TARDIS the Doctor used to travel around in before getting memory wiped. The people in the know had to be freaking out. Meanwhile the Doctor is just like 'I have no idea whose child this is, but apparently she's my grandkid so I guess I'm gonna be a dad one day. that's cool, let's take her on an educational trip to my favorite planet.' completely oblivious to the chaos and panic left in his wake.

Theory 3: Susan is River's granddaughter biologically and the Doctor's granddaughter because of course he adopted his wife's kid as his own.

The Doctor and River had an open relationship, River could have easily had a bio kid that wasn't the Doctor's but did inherit regeneration from her. Of course the Doctor would insist on being the kid's dad - Eleven "I'm the fun dad" and Twelve "grumpy dad" (who was also cooler than Eleven because he wasn't forcing it) - so all Susan knows is 'this is Grandfather Doctor and I love him'.

It might explain why there's some question as to whether Susan could regenerate. (I could swear there was uncertainty about this in the tie in media?) She's human, or part human, and despite her familial claim to the Doctor, it turns out that she wasn't biologically related to him at all despite what she and the First Doctor assumed. (Which is why the Doctor doesn't realize that specific child of his is Susan's parent.)

Personally I like the first two theories best mostly because trying to make her River's granddaughter is the one that requires the most additional retconning of established canon. The first two just slide into place fairly neatly.

The Flash is indisposed for whatever reason, maybe Barry's powers are temporarily on the fritz and he's laid up with a broken leg running coms. Whatever.

The Pied Piper strikes, stealing from a jewelry store that's been refusing to serve openly queer customers.

Frost goes to be the hero of the day and it's going well, they're fighting, trading witty one-liners. And then Barry's backseat driving gets just a little too annoying for her and the fight is still continuing but it's clearly for show now.

Because the quips have turned into the two of them roasting the Flash. Both well aware Barry can hear them.

Hartley - *escapes*

Frost - Oh no. He's too fast on his motorcycle, I guess I'll just go home now. Shame the Flash isn't available.

Barry - ... I'm sorry for micromanaging earlier. Please don't let him get away just to spite me.

Frost - Maybe I'm doing it to spite the bigots who own the shop. Ever think about that? It's not always about you, Barrence.

Enjoying that the troops in Valkyria Chronicles are very clearly not all straight. There's some very gay, lesbian, and bisexual characters in there and they get stat boosts around people they're attracted to.

Some of the characters fall a bit strongly into stereotypes and none of them are main characters (unless Rosie is bi and I am wondering a bit about her, but I'm still waiting for her stop being shitty to Isara for having dark hair) but it's still really nice to have the representation in there. And not only is it there, but it's a game mechanic that should be an important factor in putting troops together. (Platonic relationships are also a big factor and it's not always clear which is which, but for some of the characters its *very* obvious.)

I do wish Ted would stop flirting with the enemy while he's shooting them, though. (Actually i don't, it's hilarious. "Hi, I'm Ted ;)" *gunfire*)
