Video: South Durras - Spirit on the Sand. A video for our dogs Elbie and Hoover

In September 2023, we lost our 13 year old dog Hoover

Then in January 2024, we lost our almost 14 year old dog Elbie.

Our hearts are still broken. Every year, we take our dogs to South Durras, a beautiful beach in New South Wales. It took me a while, but I have finally done a video for them ... it was too painful before now.

Hi there. Thanks so much for your message! Below is the updated note that I've put at the start of the fic.

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and messages. Please note that I will not be continuing this story.

When Maxton Hall came out on 6 May, I was one of the first people to watch it even though I knew nothing about it. I fell in love with it, became obsessed with it, made fan videos, review videos and wrote more than 100,000 words of fan fiction about it.

Unfortunately, I watched a few too many interviews with the cast and while the vast majority of those interviews were positive and enhanced my enjoyment of the show, I found that one of the leads' responses to questions and their attitude about the show and the other main character adversely affected my enjoyment of the show. I realise that I should be able to divide the actor from the show / the artist from the art .. but fan fiction is a labour of love and I need to feel inspired in order to write and things like this kind of semi murdered my muse.

It's not a great feeling when you get the vibe that one of the actors almost looks down at the ship and people who love the show ... being very young probably explains the persona adopted and I get that.

Hence why I will not be finishing this fic. I don't feel so bad about it because the fandom has grown since I was the only person writing fic for it - there is so much other fic out there now so it really won't matter that this fic ends where it does. I do intend to finish my zombie fic because that is a story that I feel has taken on its own life and which I think I can finish and should finish. Thanks again all.

This series does not get anywhere near the sort of love it should get. It's got romance, enemies to friends, friends to lovers, Girls Dressing Up As Boys, tonnes of sexual tension, magic, fantasy ... It's just fabulous and I love it. I'd call it romantasy adjacent because the world, story and characters is more important than just the romance - but I am so there for the romance and I ship the main couple sooooooooooooooo much.

I've included my AI approximations of what I think the characters would look like .. I made a mistake with Titus because he has blue-grey eyes not brown .. but I actually think he looks better with brown eyes. If you haven't read this series, you should! If you have, please let me know. I am already writing fan fiction ...
