i wish i could reblog the og tumblr post i saw making this point years ago, but not only are gender roles still very prevalent in society, but they're ESPECIALLY pushed in the queer community, just more subtly. specifically "top behavior" and "bottom behavior."

i see posts ALL the time that are like "`✵•.¸,✵°✵.｡.✰ 𝒿𝓊𝓈𝓉 𝒷𝑜𝓉𝓉𝑜𝓂 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈 ✰.｡.✵°✵,¸.•✵´" and it's always comprised of the same soft bullshit. sweater paws, keyboard smashing, being shy/anxious, loving cats, nail biting, waiting for someone to finish typing first. (yes that is an actual thing i saw someone label as "bottom behavior.") shit, even if you're wild and feral that's seen as bottom behavior, because "oh they're so out of CONTROL, they need a LEASH"

i'm gonna say it, it's gross. i can't explain why it's gross, but it just really rubs me the wrong way. i know this is like the last thing on earth to be complaining about right now, but i just can't keep it to myself, and i'm not smart enough to type up a whole college essay about it.

are tops supposed to be completely stoic and void of emotion? not wait until people are done typing/talking to make sure they get the last word in? only respond to memes with "LOL" and "LMFAO"? wow, these stereotypes are really reminding me of certain standards held for a certain gender, i just wish i could figure out which one

can we please just accept that tops, bottoms, and switches are very versatile (haha) in their behaviors and move the fuck on and stop trying to label people just based off various behaviors

so i just saw the choreography and uh

WHAT THE FUCK

what in tarnation did they put in "wake up." i'm so serious. the story implications it has sends chills down my spine. (waking everyone up from strictland's dictatorship) "got no one to blame, but i know that you're in pain." hongjoong doing probably the fastest rap i've ever heard him do. and the CHORUS? holy hell. wooyoung's soft voice layered on top of heavenly, addicting harmonies that overall feels like it's caressing you through your headphones. all followed by jongho's powerful voice begging the people to wake up, like a beautiful yet blaring siren wailing throughout the entire area. the way it explodes in momentum at the end until it diminishes down into hongjoong's whisper, "wake up." and the way it sounds like they're actually in your head and not just your ears. seriously this song, and frankly this entire album, is chill-inducing.
