Jax is sensitive to sounds

(Episode 1) - Jax shushes Zooble because he "can't hear the escalator." I first assumed it was a silly joke but now I'm leaning towards it being a self-soothing behavior to detract from the stress of Kaufmo's abstraction.

(Episode 2) He refuses to drive the candy truck because he hates the horn, even though he was bullying Gangle about her driving the whole time.

(Episode 3 and Jax's Favorite Character Awards Video) He jumpscares Pomni and harasses her about it, only for Zooble to reveal that he can't handle them either.

(Episode 6) Similarly to episode 1, Jax concentrates on the sound of water to calm himself down.

(Episode 6) Though I don't think it's the only reason he doesn't swear, I bet the cartoon noises drive Jax absolutely mad. He looked super annoyed after he swore.

I find it interesting that real world noises (the elevator and the sound of running water) soothe Jax, while toony sounds (the horn and the swear censor) make him upset.

These are all leading me to believe that Jax was a super anxious guy in the real world but never got treated, so he's had to develop coping methods. Jax has a ton of poor coping methods, but using white noise to ground you during an anxiety attack is actually pretty solid!
