Ghostblade is THE character of all time. He has no hobbies. He spends his entire free time stalking his daughter. He had no tragic reason for becoming an assassin and his job doesn't bother him in the slightest, he just likes people shutting up because he's autistic. He fell in love at first sight. He manages to be a boyfailure despite being a middle aged man. His main method of contacting his boss is via phone call even though he is mute. He doesn't turn the lights on in his own home. He still thinks the name "ghostblade" is the coolest. He's a trained assassin but gets noticed repeatedly by his citizen daughter. He never once thought to send her a letter. His wife left him for reasons totally unrelated to his job as a killer. He's incredibly hot.

the thing is that ppl love when women get plastic surgery AS LONG AS theyre not botched. if you get pillowface from too many fillers/facelifts that is bad but if you can afford a doctor who makes you look young without it being too uncanny or if your buccal fat makes you look fierce now then it's a moral good and you did everyone and yourself (but mostly everyone else) a service. but if youre uglier now you're a bad person. and if you dont get any work done at all you should think about it. it's quite simple really.

James Gunn’s thesis statement for his Superman is simple and effective: "Be good. Do good. Be human despite the bad things. That is the most punk rock thing in a world so stoic and cynical."
And that’s how it should be. That’s beautiful, the new Superman movie is beautiful.

YES. I’m so glad someone else sees this!
This man has no natural instinct for where social boundaries are. He teases Monty about his books despite just meeting him minutes before, but after a week of adventuring with Daisuke, Maxwell runs away from the friendship ritual like he’s on fire. He is reluctant to lie to Freyja without a good reason, but once he joins the con, he goes overboard and promises her dental insurance?
He clings to the life preserver of Revington’s Rules not because he can’t swim, but because he doesn’t trust himself to stop swimming once he starts.
Okay I know YOU know Maxwell is probably gay but did you know he's also probably autistic. Did you know. He told me himself

saturated colour pallets definitely aren't my style but luckily they aren't Maxwell's either. It was kinda fun to translate, I think.

Cliff Notes Boruto Chapter 25
Tumblr media
Konohamaru grabs Moegi's thorn bulb like an ear syringe and squeezes her soul back in. She then collapses dramatically into his arms.
After checking on Moegi, Sarada and Sumire chat on the roof. Sarada admits she was in denial about her feelings for Boruto, and the girls make up. Eida acts like their very calm conversation is a Love Island-style crashout and DEMANDS the sensory unit patch her in to the girl talk.
Meanwhile, Himawari is mentally training with Baby Kurama. He explains that she's closer to a Tailed Beast than a human, so she should fight with her chakra, not her body. Himawari says that makes no sense, and Baby Kurama responds "too bad, I'm gonna go nap".
Meanwhile, Boruto's been hopping around spying on his loved ones. Either Shikamaru cleared him of all criminal charges, or Konoha has the worst security ever.
Ironically, the one conversation Boruto doesn't eavesdrop on is the one where two teenage girls gush over how much they love him. Sarada and Sumire laugh about how oblivious he is.
While his friends gossip, Boruto tries to sell his soul to the alien living in his DNA.

Daily check in 08/08/2024 We're closing in on two weeks of calling! Paypal is back to playing dumb, Visa is sticking to the script, MasterCard is really tired of this, and Stripe still won't answer the phone. I'm considering doing my calls live tomorrow on Twitch. If anyone has been putting off making their calls because they don't know what to say or expect, I can provide some examples and support! Keep making the calls! Keep writing the letters! Don't let up!

Hot take, because I am feeling contrary: Celine was right.
Rumi wanted to tell her teammates about her marks, saying they would understand. Celine says “no girl, it’s not safe, don’t risk it.” And what’s the first thing Zoey and Mira do when they see Rumi’s marks? They don’t hear her out. They draw their weapons on her and get into battle stance.
It’s possible that if Rumi had revealed her marks in a calmer setting, the girls might have sympathized. But the fact is that the minute Rumi’s arms were exposed, her life was in danger. Yeah, being true to yourself is nice, but survival is better.
You could argue that Celine was the one who taught the girls anti-demon absolutism in the first place. This is true. But…the movie doesn’t exactly prove her wrong? All demons, even Jinu, are ruthless cannibals trying to destroy the world. Some feel guilty about it. But they’re still doing it.
That’s where the coming-out/internalized prejudice metaphor falls flat for me. Because being a demon is objectively bad in this narrative. Rumi asks Celine why she couldn’t love all of her, but the marks are basically a soul-corrupting curse that exacerbates negative emotions. While the hunter’s “Hide your flaws” motto is unhealthy, passively accepting the marks that threaten Rumi’s very soul wouldn’t have been much better.
For me, Celine saying “I refuse to follow my duty and kill you, even if your existence threatens the world” is a much more radical act of love than saying “Accept your demon side, queen! Never change!”
And yes, I KNOW the tattoos and demons and such aren’t meant to be taken literally. In the metaphorical subtext of the story, Celine represents an antagonistic force of shame. But in the textual, concrete facts of the narrative, Celine is not a villain and doesn’t deserve to be lumped in with the likes of Abuela from Encanto or Mother Gothel from Tangled.
It sucks that there are some people who see Celine as the worst "villain" in the movie as if there's not other characters who have done even more selfish, despicable things.
The most Celine did was have Rumi hide her demon side out of fear (understandable) and grief. Even still we don't see her watching her, despite being fearful of Rumi's demon side and hatred for demons. The girls still get to live off on their own without Celine's supervision.
Not excusing her actions. But seeing it from Celine's side of things and having seen what demons, including ex-human ones, have done, it's not hard to see Celine acted the way she did. I don't doubt Celine's love for Rumi. I do think she did come to love her like her own daughter. And I do think she did want to have something (someone) of her close friend, Rumi's mother around.
I don't think Celine is all that cruel, just scared. Rumi's mother may have seen a different side of a demon that she fell in love with (possibly), but Celine didn't. All she knew was how vicious demons are. Heck, we don't the whole story of Rumi's parents.
What if Rumi's father didn't love Rumi's mother and manipulated her the whole time? What if he used tricks that lead to Rumi's mother's death? Why was he a demon in the first place?
I'm not saying Celine is completely right, but I do think some people aren't understanding her actions and see her as a total villain. Yes, she is at fault for Rumi's insecurities, but she didn't do any of that out of malicious intent. I wouldn't say she's a "bitch" when there is worst characters in the movie.
