You know what it is.
Honey 2 Honey from Sydney travelling down the Hume to play with Shoeb Ahmad & Sterecenter on Saturday, October 15th. Sideway -- the smoothest concrete floor in the Canberra CBD. Nothing to worry about.
$10 on the door. Starting from ~8p.m. Don’t be late!

Pash from Sydney meeting Sylvia from Melbourne here in Canberra on the 18th of June. Happy to announce the return of local stoics Dog Name & eager to unpack the contents of a Tupperware Party.
Once again you can’t beat Sideway for the ease of access and ambience. Unmatched. Unparalleled. Cynar practically on tap. What’s not to like?
Musical performance #94. News on #95 coming soon.

#93 -- back in action and roaring about it.
Diploid, Optic Nerve, Blight Worms and Thantu Thikha.
Sideway -- Canberra’s only alternative local hotspot, surely -- from 5.

Brocken Spectre, the new 12″ LP from Radiant Heart, is available to pre-order through the Lacklustre Bandcamp, as well as from the UK through Vested Interest, and Canada/USA, with Kingfisher Bluez.
Thrilled to be working with Chris and Celia, two musicians who cut their teeth first in the Nottingham emo band, The Blue Period, and have continued on working together under the Radiant Heart banner. You can stream Museum, Halo Glow (Chloe K) and Morning Sun through Bandcamp now, and there’ll definitely be more coming in the weeks leading up to the eventual release (first week of December).

Earache’s first release & the latest release through the label, “Voices b/w Parasite”, is online now. We’re launching it in cassette form [pictured], tomorrow at our farewell to the ol’ HQ shindig. There were a few copies online already but they have (fortunately?) already sold out.
Any leftover copies will be up on Bandcamp after the show. Hope it’s to your taste.

We moved out of our house turned venue a few months ago, and are organising a little farewell get-together to celebrate and also mourn the passing of our much-loved home.
26th & 27th October we’ll be playing music from the living room out to the street once more. Make yourself at home in our home.
Facebook event. Lineup announced this week.

Upcoming show at the HQ: Lapse, Earache and Australian Sweetheart. Interestingly all three acts are split between Canberra & other major seaboard cities. Make of that what you will.

Would love to work at Lacklustre Records. Any positions open?
Thanks for asking! Unfortunately we don’t have anyone ‘working’ here, it’s more of a house-bound operation. Feel free to get in touch with any further questions via email.

New music available now from Australian Sweetheart, a new two-piece split between both ends of the Federal Highway, the permanent link between Canberra and Sydney.
Bedroom pop stripped back to basics, these four tracks weave easily between the cyborg-pop of artists like Grimes and the lo-fi sounds reminiscent of the Orchid Tapes roster. Each offering promises a drumbeat ready for you to move your feet to: whether in front of your mirror, in the living room or somewhere with a smoke machine... that's for you to decide.
News on their debut live performance coming soon.
Listen or purchase here.

Crywank is scheduled to play at lacklustre in a few weeks. When you go to the event page on oztix it says that the event is all ages. However when you go to buy tickets it says the tickets are 18+. Which one is true? Is it all ages?
Hey there! It is all ages. Sorry about the confusion! Feel free to e-mail me any questions.

LCK042: Lapse - True Conditions.
Modern and blissful shoegaze: the first thing that comes to mind when listening to the debut EP from Lapse, 'True Conditions'. Two years on from the release of their phenomenal three-track cassette, this new record spans five tracks and twenty minutes of warmth. I can only compare the feeling it stirs inside me as comparable to that of staring up into a meteor shower, perhaps during the peak of the Perseid period. There is a clear musical development from their first effort: maturity in lyricism, a wider choice of instrumentation, their cohesiveness as a three piece.
Absolutely thrilled to be releasing this record on 12" black vinyl. We are only pressing 100 copies; 50 available online and the remaining copies available from the band on tour. Lapse will be embarking on a string of shows across Australia soon, but until then you can stream this single here, or pre-order the record. The entire thing will be revealed and streamable over the coming weeks.
Pre-orders available now.
