Once you go Alaska, You never go back-ska

I’m trapped up and under The ice that is Alaska, They say that once you land here, you will never go back-ska It has brilliant shades of all that is green, the color of life, if you’re asking me. So many shades it’ll give you a whole new understanding of what we call a rainbow. And the Northern Lights, they dance with a color changing glow.

It’s been known to be sunny, and hot in the summer 40° is shorts and sandals weather, and to be honest the “heat”, Has never felt better. We Alaskans hardly ever see the the falling rain. but when we do we wake up to trees sprouting leafs, flowers blooming and just over night! We call that magic week, it’s brings us all smiles, that we can’t restrain.

We have harsh, dark, and extremely long, Winters Frozen blue Stinging cold With icicles hanging down like stalactites waiting to crash to the ground. In the winter you can usyually find me snuggled up by the fire Drinking some coffee trying not to act tired It’s almost like I hibernate for the duration of the snow For being born in Alaska you’d think I’d love it, No! I don’t, and I won’t, just so ya know. I am trapped up and under The ice that is Alaska With seasons, ever changing, they will reach out and grab ya Forcing you into The Last Frontier Making you think, “Hmm, I’d like to stay here”.

Honey Dew you want my autograph? My bestie and I cut up some perfectly ripe honey dew melon for a mid-night snack. It looked so pretty and green I had to snap a picture of it! My signature is there just because, I was playing with my notes after writing that last poem.

Today, Today Another day Now another night has come Surrounded by the ones I love, I finally feel at home The universe has been guiding me - My sisters have been keeping me safe - Both have been sending me signs everyday Letting me know that I’m in the right place I’m grateful for the way you were able to help me to help myself Alas! I can say that I love me again! And my body’s in perfect health. When a day drags on forever and seems like it it just won’t end I remind myself how far I’ve come That the hard times unveiled my real and most unbelievable •f•r•i•e••n•d•s• That all my family is back behind me and BOOM! Just like that, My life is good. You can see it, My skin is glowing! I wear my beaming smile every where I go Don’t ask me for the answers, words of advice, because -This lesson is not one that can be taught but by anyone but yourself.
