Those stains - located only on the surface of the diamond - turn brown when exposed to heat (above 400- 500 °C, according to literature). 🇺🇸Previously featured multiphase inclusions seen in a pink spinel crystal from Burma (0.38 ct - probably from Man Sin) but this time photographed with transmitted light (whereas I took the previous picture using dark field illumination). Note again the extreme complexity of the main inclusion, with here more visible details of its composition, as well as bubbles in a yellow liquid present within some tiny multiphase inclusions. 🇺🇸Striking octahedral shape-like “phantom” planted in the core of a yellow diamond (0.07 ct - IaA>>Ib). This is due to the successive growth of first an octahedral diamond (hence the shape and location of this “phantom”) and then a cuboid one (overgrowth).
