Tumblr and parts of AO3 I didn't know existed are sucking me down a very cold, sardonic, stinking of horse poo and seal blubber but still gorgeous, LEGO-shaped (not the plastic kind) rabbit hole again.

One day, I'm going to have to write some polar boy fanfic. But what and how and stuff? It's been brewing for decades, since TLPoE, let's face it. I mean, look at my username.

And there's all this comment and art on here and photos I've never seen before ... and it's under my skin as much as it was when I was 14 and imagined I travelled back in time and lived in the Cape Evans hut with them all in 1911 (and I was older in my head obvs) and they all fell in love with me (well, Deb and Atch and Nelson and Day and Cherry and sometimes even Con) but my heart only belonged to the Soldier cos he was beautiful but a total fucking enigma (but also not).

Fulfilment - A Captain Hook/Adult Wendy fic

As the muse has me in a chokehold at the moment, I also wrote this recently. It was supposed to be finished by Christmas, as that's when it's set (not that that is particularly relevant to the story) but it was finished by New Year.

I'm baaaccckkk!

I'd actually forgotten I had Tumblr. In fact, I think I sort of forgot Tumblr existed. But I've now spent a couple of days going back through all my posts and using it to trace the path of my life (or at least my obsessions) over the last 13 years or so. It's been an eye-opener.

Anyway, I'm back writing fanfic with a vengeance, mostly HP fanfic.

When and watching what have you fallen for Rufus? What's your favourite work of his?

Loved him since Middlemarch ... Knights’ Tale probs, but he sort of came and went on my radar over the years. Taming of the Shrew was glorious, and then Victoria really made him sort of crash into my consciousness again, quickly followed by Man in the High Castle.

Do you know why GOSH charity is his favourite? Seems a cute choice

I don’t, but it’s an amazing place which does amazing things for children. I think most of us in the UK know children who’ve been helped by it. Thank to everyone who contributed to Rufus’s birthday fundraiser. x
