Cardi B and Bruno need to work together forever

Ok, so I honestly wasn’t a fan of Cardi B until her feature on the “Finesse” remix. Before that, I was only familiar with Bodak Yellow. But, Bruno Mars had become my obsession ever since 24K Magic. His blend of old school with a modern flare is perfect, and I could listen to the 24k Magic album all day. So this was the perfect introduction to Cardi for me. Now I’m a fan. I’ve listened to all her albums and I genuinely love Invasion of Privacy. That being said, when “Please Me” came out, it was an out of body experience. I felt transported to another world, I felt like a different person, and I knew, more than anything, I wanted a music video.
youtube
This video is perfection. I’ve watched it on repeat almost non-stop since it came out. The setting, the camera work, the wardrobe, everything feels so perfectly timeless that if you told me this was an early or late 90s piece the only way I’d know otherwise is the resolution quality. The choreography is so fun, but also sexy, nothing feels forced or out of place, I love everything about this!

They're BACK!!!
I love this song, I can hear the growth, the experience, and the new identity they've all grown into as adults. I absolutely ADORE seeing each if their wives in this videos. This is so rich in family and fun. I'm eagerly awaiting the album. The best part, I didn't feel nostalgic. This doesn't feel like teenage music trying to come back. This is new, this is now. 10/10

The new Kim Possible movie: 3.5/10

I honestly was excited for this, I didn’t write it off like everyone else, but unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver for me. Let me be clear, the lead actress did a good job, the actor playing Ron was the best part of the movie. In actuality, I think the movie only failed for a few reasons. First, this movie is supposed to be about her first day of high school and how, even for a girl like Kim, it’s hard. Forgetting the fact that the cartoon Kim Possible didn’t do her first mission until she was a high school freshman, it just doesn’t fit what Kim Possible means. So, even as a reboot for the new generation, why would you make a movie about the girl who can do anything, and, as her introduction, take that away from her? It doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t inspire, it doesn’t make me want to see more. The original Kim inspired millions of kids, including myself, but this Kim is, just, a girl with a grappling hook. I was originally going to try to do a full piece on this, but that about sums it up, any other complaints would be nitpicking so I’m going to only have one of those. Patton Oswalt coming back to do Dementor was the best part of this movie. Most of the adult characters were badly written, and the use of cgi for Bueno Nacho was just.....no
Spoiler alert: The main plot of the movie is a big rip off of So The Drama, and also, WHERE WAS MONIQUE?

The CW Season 3 curse strikes again
Ok here goes. In every CW show that I’ve ever watched, the first season is good, the second season in incredible, and then everything flies off the rails in the third season. In Arrow, they went so deep down the wannabe Batman rabbit hole that, in my opinion, they still haven’t recovered. Flash barely managed to pull itself out of the pit in season 4 with the wedding, and I have to watch the new season of Supergirl before I can make a decision. Now it seems, the third season curse has struck again, with Riverdale.
Let me take you back to the final episode of season 2, Penny Peabody is running the Goolies, Hiram Lodge has set up his full town control system, and Archie is accused of murder. I was excited. So very, very excited. Veronica was finally going to stop flip-flopping allegiances between which of her parents she thought was eviler (they’re both awful) and had become the owner of Pops, and Betty stood triumphant over the biggest killer the town had ever seen, her own father. I anticipated a third season centered around Jughead and Toni running the Serpents, fighting against the Goolies in their typical detective style until Penny was forced out of town again, of course at some point bringing the mom and little sister into play, Archie either getting off on all charges due to the brilliance of Bughead, or surviving prison, and Veronica being forced to truly live a life void of all the privilege her parent’s had given her. Instead, we got evil Dungeons & Dragons, a serpent king who almost never wears his jacket, Toni going from awesome gang commander to lesbian fodder (we love Choni, we don’t love badly written plots for Choni) and a bunch of random craziness.
The prison arc for Archi was honestly really well done, and had it been placed alongside a Serpents vs Goolies or Bughead vs Hiram plot like it seemed in the first episode, I would have been glued to the screen every week. I thought that the madness Archie faced in prison not only was a compelling story, but also kind of his karma for betraying everyone in season 2. My main issues with this season with the treatment of 4 characters.
First, from the very first episode it was obvious the Betty was the only sane member of her family, however by the end of season 2 I truly believed Alice had finally pulled her head out of her ass and would become reasonable, instead, she ends up in a cult, and sends Betty to a place that, in all honesty, has had so many horror stories at this point I’m amazed they hadn’t been shut down years ago. Now, as far as the Betty part of this storyline, I actually really like it, I just am tired of Alice being a constant obstacle every season.
Second, Toni Topaz was one of the best parts of season 2. I’m a very big Vanessa Morgan fan, and I honestly only started watching Riverdale because Vanessa Morgan was cast in the show. So to see her go from Jughead’s serpent guardian, to his second-in-command, and then made into nothing more than Cheryl’s running buddy (whose antics removed her from the Serpents) that’s lazy writing. I know she’s forming a new gang and I’m eager to see where that leads, but this also ties into another factor I find so frustrating. Perhaps hoping Cheryl would behave differently this season was asking too much, after all, Veronica has barely changed so why would Cheryl when, at their core, they’re nearly the same, but I was hopeful. In my opinion, the girl who shot the black hood with an arrow and threatened Penny Peabody is not the girl we’ve seen this season. Don’t write great arcs for characters if you don’t plan on having them actually grow and develop.
The last thing, I honestly just think the writers are trying too hard at this point. It’s too much, and not enough of it is good. It’s quantity instead of quality. However, two things keep me watching: Betty & Jughead,

I’ve been saying it since season 1, the true title of Riverdale is Bughead and their little friends. They solve all the crimes, they save the town again and again, and aside from how unbelievably cute they are, they’re also the best-written characters on the show. Probably due in part to the real-life relationship between Cole & Lili, but also due to the characters journey thus far and how popular they are, the writers have stopped breaking them up and putting them back together. They’re the core of the everything, the one constant, the thing that, I hope, won’t change. Like Barry & Iris on The Flash, Bughead have become the one thing viewers can rely on to not annoy them with drama anymore. While Veronica makes Archie running for his life from her mafia father about Archie not loving her enough, Betty and Jughead survived an insane asylum, running form a mafia boss, and so much more. Now, with the show eager to remind you these are high schooler students (focusing a whole episode on SATs and Archie’s PTSD) I’m confident these two will continue to power through and, eventually, win the day. Give me my detectives, my dark writer, by Serpent King & Queen. Hopefully, the power of Bughead can save Riverdale from the CW season 3 curse.

Why I, a Jonas stan, am nervous about the reunion

For starters let me say this: for me personally, changes in a band give me anxiety. I remember I used to love a band called The Cab, and when I finally got to see them live, 2 of the members had been switched out. Shortly after, the band released an EP that did poorly and were never heard from again. When Panic! was going through their awkward stage I stopped listening because I could taste how uncomfortable it was. But the worst thing a band can do isn’t break up, but get back together and not do well. For the record, this isn’t the first time the Jonas Brothers have done a comeback. After they finished touring for Lines, Vines & Trying Times they went their separate ways, Joe made a good attempt at a solo pop career, Kevin got married, and Nick started finding his sound outside of band life (I miss Nick Jonas & The Administration tbh). They later came back with the single Pom Poms, a very short EP of songs that, while not bad, weren’t exactly good either. The standout song of that EP was “Wedding Bells” which was pretty much Nick by himself, singing a sad song about Miley Cyrus being engaged to Liam Hemsworth. Then they all went away for a while.
Then a few years later everything got great. Nick released his album, the lead single Jealous took over the charts everywhere, and there was no question that he was here to stay. Around the same time, DNCE blew pop music out of the water with Cake By The Ocean and Toothbrush. Since then, there have been a few rocky moments but each of the brothers are doing really well (Kevin is happily married and a Dad)
Cut to now, Nick has just married Priyanka Chopra, the coolest woman on the planet, DNCE released an album not too long ago and Joe is getting ready to marry Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and each of them have reached a new level in life as well as career. But, the music landscape right now isn’t right for a return. With acts like Prettymuch, Brockhampton, Why Don’t We, etc. The age of actual pop-rock bands seems to be on hold. I’ll be the first to say, that I think a reunion tour will sell out, hell, I’ll probably get a ticket and go myself. What worries me is that they might try to make another album. I love Jonas Brothers, and I hope I’m wrong, but if they come into a new album trying to sound like current music acts (they’ve done this before) if it doesn’t work, it’s not just going to be a bad album, it’s gonna be a blemish on their legacy. It might set each of them back as individual commercial successes as well. I want it to work, I want the boys who got me through my teens to come back and amaze the world with new, adult music. But, on the off chance, things don’t go that way, I’m left wondering if this might end DNCE, and set Nick back in his solo efforts? Don’t ruin what is right now, chasing what used to be.

Breakfast with Sarahndipity Cosplay

Sarahndipity hasn’t been cosplaying long, but in the 2-3 years she’s been doing this she’s already cultivated a wonderful community of support. There’s a uniqueness to what she does that just pulls you in. From popular Marvel heroes like Miles Morales & Domino to lesser-known heroes from Dungeons and Dragons podcasts, Sarahndipity executes her cosplays perfectly, sometimes even using Tik Tok to truly step into the character and create some hilarious content. She’s quickly become one of my absolute favorite cosplayers and it was an absolute joy to sit with her.
Explain your cosplay name
I like words that have the sound of my name, and putting my name in. Serendipity is one of my favorites so when I made my page that just sounded good. It’s essentially a pun.
Where did the idea to do cosplay with tik tok come from?
I saw people doing it and it looked like a fun time so I figured I’d give it a try
What is The Adventure Zone?
The Adventure Zone is a podcast from the McElroy family. It’s them playing Dungeons & Dragons but not really knowing what they’re doing. They end up telling a great, and very funny, story.
Ok, please explain your love for survivor?
It’s a really interesting game. If I ever got the chance to be on the show I’d love it, it’s so well put together.
Alrigh,t so I’m gonna let your mind play for a second. My Hero Academia: Survivor. Student’s only, whose winning, and whose voted off first?
The first person out would be Koji because he lacks social skills, and the winner would probably be either Momo or Invisible Girl.
So according to twitter you do D&D. What’s your character?
I have a lot of characters, making characters is really fun.
Have you listened to Wonderwall yet?
I finally did, but I wasn’t impressed. I feel like it’s been overhyped cause of the meme for it. I probably would like it if I’d heard it earlier in my life.
Who was the first character you cosplayed?
Officially, it would’ve been Emerald RWBY.
What got you into cosplay?
The Peter Pan actor from Disney Parks that went super viral on tumblr a few years back. It made me want to work there as Jasmine and after seeing some incredible Jasmine I cosplayers I finally made a costume when I got invited to Colossalcon a few years back.
Top 5 songs on your playlist right now
Marshmello- Happier
Myster Skulls- Ghosts
ARIZONZ- Freaking Out
Blackway- What’s Up Danger
Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra- Kiss The Sky

The apocalypse has come and you can have a survival squad made up of you, one god tier character, and two character you’ve cosplayed
That’s actually a really hard one. Let’s say Shigaraki, Domino, and Deadpool. A villian, and 2 mercenaries. Shigaraki could defend well turning everything to dust, Domino’s luck would definitely help, and Deadpool’s humor would keep morale up.
3 Breakfast Essentials
Orange Juice
Cereal
Bacon
What new skills have you learned since pursuing cosplay?
Before this, I didn’t know how to use a sewing machine, but after getting one as a gift from my high school home ec teacher and watching some YouTube tutorials I figured it out. I also learned building and constructing with foam and wires.
What’s your favorite thing about cosplay?
Getting to be creative, and figuring out how to make things work since I usually make my cosplays, and of course, portraying the character.
As a black woman, what is your dream cosplay?
I don’t know at the moment, because it used to be Jasmine, but I did that.
What’s your dream? I want to do something creative, probably being a writer since that’s what I study, but as long as I’m being creative and enjoying it that’s what I want.
Do you know how dope you are?
Well, I don’t know. I guess that’s pretty cool to hear. Thank you.
Writer, cosplayer, gamer, survivor, regardless of the medium, Sarahndipity is a true creative, and I’m eager to see what she’ll create next. She seems almost fearless and unbelievably driven, facing challenges head on, learning whatever skills she needs to overcome new obstacles. She’s an inspiration.

The timeline dilemma
I don’t know if this is an ADHD thing or just mine, but I never know when anything in my life has happened. Was this 7 years ago? An hour ago? This week? I literally have no idea. I just know it happened, period. So whenever I’m saying an anecdote, I just say “the other day”. Sometimes people have said “Um, that happened when you were 3” and other times they tell me it happened that same day! And I’m like “Whoa, that’s wild. Wait, does this mean I had no necessity to tell you this anecdote since you were apparently there???”
