It might have taken me a good six months, but I’ve finally managed to finish cleaning up and coloring the old sketch I’d made and released on the second anniversary of my beloved on-going fic, Cherish.
Although much time has passed since then and I’ve currently been on a bit of a mental health break, my gratitude and happiness at the successfulness of this story has never faded even a little.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all once more, and I hope you’ll stick around with me to see Cherish’s bright and beautiful future that I know is ahead of it for many years to come.

Today on “Cherish crossover artworks that literally no one asked for expected and AUs I will probably never write”, I would like to present y’all with this artwork based on The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which has had me in a very powerful death grip ever since I saw it in theaters with my father on November 30th.
I may or may not be reading the entire book series now thanks to a new friend’s kind uploading of photos of their copy. Help.
Anyway, because I can’t get away from the constant pain and angst that torments me on the daily, I decided to make this cute little drawing of Paul as young Coriolanus Snow and poet Arthur as Lucy (or Lucien, I guess, given the genderbend) Gray Baird.
(If you understand the significance of me choosing Lucien as the genderbend name for this in the context of these two, I love hate you. 💖)

After eight long months of hard work, it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I finally premiere my first ever full-length animatic — and one that is meant to encapsulate the main story and conflict of my beloved Cherish’s entire first arc, at that.
I find it extremely amusing that I had begun this animatic on a whim back in early April when I was very sick with the flu, as all this time later, that is also the state of health in which I finally finished it off, too. I suppose flus just make me surprisingly productive creatively sometimes, somehow.
For those of you unfamiliar with Cherish’s storyline, it might be a little confusing to watch, but the long and short of most of it is that in the fic, in the fairly far future of the BSD universe, Paul eventually runs into another version of Arthur Rimbaud (most specifically, a slightly AU version of the author from our world) who was brought into this world by way of some sort of mysterious portal, just after his version of Paul Verlaine (and his lover, at that) had made an attempt on his life.
After a number of circumstances, it ends up so that if Arthur wishes to remain in this world, he must learn to trust in the mysterious stranger that helped get him aid for his injuries…but inevitably the secret of the blond’s real identity eventually must come forth, and when it does, Rimbaud is sent into shock and fear at the revelation.
Can Arthur overcome the scars of his past and learn to trust this new Verlaine by his current actions, rather than the name which he shares with his former lover, abuser, and attempted murderer?
Likewise, can Paul learn to forgive himself enough to allow himself into the life of this other Arthur Rimbaud, despite knowing that even in another world, he seems destined to repeat the act that he most regrets today?
Is it possible for either of them to believe in themselves and in each other, or is the weight of their pasts too much to bear in the end? These are the questions that Arc 1 asks most of all, and the dilemma which this animatic thereby truly represents at its core.
I hope you will enjoy watching it, and look forward to the upcoming Chapter 15, which will finally give its answer and finally bring the first arc of the story to a close.
Oh, and, as with the fic, viewer discretion is advised: be aware this animatic holds some extremely heavy themes within it, such as domestic violence, blood, serious injuries and attempted homicide, among other things. In general, you should probably just apply the fic’s tags to this as well.
The song is Movies by Conan Gray, but shoutout to the song Fight or Flight by the same artist — which I also listened to in between the former from time to time while working on this video.

So, a good many months back, after finishing the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC, I had been in quite the Xenoblade spirit, and decided I had wanted to make a few cool little crossover artworks between XC3 and Cherish to celebrate that fact.
Due to a number of circumstances that I can’t seem to recall at the moment, the project eventually got shelved, however, and it was only now that I was finally able to return to those artworks and complete them.
For Arthur, I’ve drawn him to be an Agnian offseer, as I feel it best befits his rebel attitude in not wanting to directly partake in the cycle of death and war, and for Paul, I’ve depicted him as a steel-rank Kevesi commander who has dual-wielding swords — to portray him as someone who is not by any means an amateur at war, and to reflect the deadly nature of his ability as we see it at the end of Fifteen, and also in Storm Bringer. They are both in their eighth terms.
I think the idea of a Paul who, despite being a fairly high-ranking and trusted commander, would one day meet Arthur and feel compelled to defect from their lives in the colonies and protect him, despite Arthur being an Agnian and in spite of the danger it puts them in to do it, would very much capture both the spirit of Cherish and Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s overarching theme.
Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed the artworks above. ^-^

So, after all of that angst I’d created and everything that was going on at the time of drawing the second half of that (which is still currently in progress), I really ended up needing some fluff — which led to the birth of the artwork that you see now.
I know that in a previous post on my main blog, I had already mentioned fluff among the things I possibly wanted to draw, but this was actually not the drawing I’d had in mind when I said that; rather, this is an idea that came to me suddenly on one fine recent night, and the other drawing will also still come into existence at some point, too. (Though, I don’t know when it will — given that I still need to do both my 1500 hits celebration post and the Halloween one, and to finish the second piece for that angst drawing; I suppose after all of those would be the logical conclusion.)
The outfit that Arthur is wearing in this does have a particular origin and is fashioned after an outfit that genuinely does exist, but I’ll leave the sleuthing out of that up to Cherish’s audience for now, as well as the consideration of whatever that may or may not mean. (As of posting this, there are only two people out there who sort of know the origins of it.)
The same is true of Paul’s, too, but…that would be much harder to narrow down for the average person, I think.
On a less subtle note, yeah, the wedding-reminiscent light and dark colors of the clothes weren’t entirely intentional at the beginning, but I’m not dissatisfied that they’re there, either.
I’d also really like to give a shout-out to Cherish’s co-artist and my dear friend, @asachuu , on this one, for teaching me the all-important skill of how to draw lace and lacy frills. 🥺💖 Your aid really was a lifesaver.

Darling, I forgive you, after all Anything is better than to be alone And in the end I guess I had to fall; Always find my place among the ashes…
So, a short time back, I released a poll asking people if they wanted new angst art for Cherish, and the replies given were overwhelmingly positive, so here it is: the first work in a two-part set of angst art pieces.
There is a lot I would like to say in regards to this particular piece and the symbolism behind it, but I think that I will save that for under the cut, due to post length, zoomed in images, and talk of some much heavier subjects.
The idea behind creating these two art pieces was initially to participate in Domestic Violence Awareness Month (which is of course in October, which is also coincidentally Arthur’s birth month), if that gives you any idea of some of the subjects that will be below the cut (along with the usual stuff that I include in all of my art posts).
…And most importantly, if you can, please consider donating to some of the lovely organizations that help victims of various forms of abuse. I don’t want to recommend any particular ones in this post, as I don’t want to accidentally link to a place that may not be as on the level as some others out there, but if you have the time, please explore the Domestic Violence Awareness Month topic online, as I’m sure there are many lovely folks who can direct you to some great ones.
Also, if you think you or someone you know is being abused, or you just want to educate yourself on domestic violence and abuse, please visit thehotline.org and loveisrespect.org, which are two very very lovely sites dedicated to helping people in abusive situations that I myself have visited in the past.
I love you all so much.

So, let me start off by saying that Arthur in this artwork was originally supposed to have a similar injury on his head to that which is described in Chapter 13 of my fic, but that was ultimately scrapped as I decided I did not want to be quite that heavy-handed and obvious with the imagery.
With that out of the way, let’s examine the finished piece a bit closer!
Tumblr media
First, let’s talk about the (slightly crooked) painting in the background: this piece is actually not created by me at all, but rather, it is a painting from 1870 called Little Red Riding Hood at Her Grandmother’s Door, by Frederick Warne — with the subject, as the title implies, being Little Red Riding Hood arriving at her Grandmother’s cottage.
This sets a subtle nod for the main theme of this piece — with Arthur dressed in an outfit inspired by and matching the same coloring scheme of Little Red Riding Hood’s iconic garb. Paul, on the other hand, sports the gray, white, and black colors of the Wolf, with his shadow coming out behind him as an unsettling and somewhat uncanny wolf shape, grinning with its teeth bared.
Tumblr media
The purpose of this symbolism is threefold: Firstly and most superficially, the music video for the song that the second piece was most inspired by also has a slight Little Red Riding Hood theme to it, so this can be seen as a subtle nod to it, but more importantly, it not only sets the precedent of Paul as the predator and Arthur as his prey, but also is meant to hold the same implications of sexual trauma — as well as the old physical violence and “wolf in sheep’s clothing” adage — that the fairytale is commonly viewed through the lens of and thought to represent in modern times.
Tumblr media
Continuing forward from that idea, we can see Paul’s right hand reaching uncomfortably close toward Arthur’s inner thigh, whilst Arthur’s hands are in chains — lending not only to the sense that the teen is trapped in this relationship, but that his significantly older lover very simply does not care if he wants to be in it or not, and will do whatever necessary to keep him where he wants him — even if it means mental or some variety of physical harm.
Furthermore, if we examine Rimbaud’s hands, we can see that he is making a careful attempt at signaling his distress to the viewer of the photo — using both of his hands to try to show off the chains and also subtly form and display the two phases of the sign for help — at the same time trying to keep his pose seeming as natural as possible in front of his abuser by not facing them towards the camera, but rather letting them rest downward in his lap.
And to further drive home the point that Verlaine is keeping him trapped in their partnership, we can see the key to Arthur’s cuffs dangling from the chain of the stopwatch in the elder poet’s pocket that is fastened to his lapel.
Tumblr media
If we then look to Arthur’s and Paul’s faces, we can further determine the mood of the two men by examining their eyes and expressions.
Tumblr media
Whereas Paul is staring intently into his young affair partner’s eyes and grinning widely — with the slightest shimmer visible in his irises — unbothered and uncaring of the wedding ring he still has boldly worn upon his hand, Rimbaud will not look him in the eyes, instead glancing off to the side (almost in the direction of his lover’s ring) with lightless eyes (this is the first time I have drawn Arthur without any form of eye shine to emphasize this point), furrowed eyebrows, and only a half-smile on his face, as barely visible tears well up in the corners of his eyes.
…And yeah, that’s been my little deep-dive on the symbolism of this art piece! I really wanted to create something that at just a quick glance would mostly appear happy and cute, but which — like the painting which is only very slightly tilted) would get increasingly more unsettling the longer and closer you looked at it, and I really hope that I successfully captured that feeling in this work and that you enjoyed reading along with my notes on it!
See you in the next piece!

What initially started out as a sort of warmup drawing/vent artwork a few days ago ended up blossoming into a fully completed piece of art that I was actually really proud of, and so it now will have its rightful place among my gallery here, and hopefully somewhere within my beloved fic’s pages to come — in an “additional artwork” section placed either after this arc or at the very end of the book.
While not meant to be a literal depiction of any of the events within Cherish, this artwork is nevertheless a sort of visual representation of the overall tone of much of its first arc.
Of course, I won’t be saying any spoilers here, but if you would like to find out what precisely this artwork thematically represents, I encourage you to check out the fic, should it be to your tastes, and try to decipher its meaning yourself. ^-^
(And to my currently very starved Cherish fans, I hope this feeds you well until the next Chapter upload likely in the coming week or two or perhaps sooner.)

Well, since I’m finally out about the fact that I’m in this fandom, I guess it’s about time I share with y’all some of the fanart I’ve drawn for Helluva Boss and its related media.
This is my bapy Stolas, in his human form from Season 2, Episode 3, but drawn in my current style so he’s sliiiiiightly more realistically drawn than in the actual show. Basically anime human Stolas lolol.
I love my poor pathetic lovestruck boi so much. 🥺💖 He deserves to feel genuine love so fucking bad after all he’s been through. 😔
(Also I think his human disguise is adorable. 🥺💖)

So, some of you may recall the old WIP version of this artwork that I posted back in late July of last year — if you’ve been following my main blog or the Cherish one long enough, anyway — but after over a year and several months of alternated work and procrastination, I finally managed to finish the full piece today, and so, I present to you: the official Chapter 1 artwork for Cherish.
I will be incorporating it into its proper place in the fic shortly after posting this, so I hope that any new or returning visitors to the fic will feel free to check that out and appreciate it and all of the other wonderful artwork that Cherish has received so far from myself and my dear co-artist. 💖

So…I was originally planning to sell this old adopt of mine at a much lower price, but one of my good friends recently got scammed when commissioning an artist to make a gift for a friend of hers, and I want to help her get her money back. She lost $30 from the initial payment, so the base bidding price for this adopt will be $30 USD, and the autobuy (if you don’t want to risk bidding) will be $50.
If a bid is placed in comments, reblogs, asks, or DMs, a 48 hour wait period will be held between the first bid and the closing time if no other bids are recieved, to give others time to put in bids.
When closing time is reached or if you are interested in autobuy, I will DM you with my friend’s PayPal.me link to send the money to, and once she confirms having recieved it, I will send you the full-quality, non-watermarked image of this character, along with the original old artwork.
This is an original design for me and is NOT AI.
Rules for purchase:
When you purchase this adopt, you receive the rights to her as your OC (original character); the original images of her by me still belong to myself and if you use or repost them anywhere, you are to credit me for it and not remove my signature(s), but other than this, you may use, alter, draw, rename, and write about the character as much you please without the need to credit me, other than for her original design.
You may not resell the character for at least 6 months after purchase, and if you do resell her, you still must credit me for her original design and pictures.
Refunds are not accepted once the art and character has been passed over to you.
I reserve the right to draw her again in the future (for personal purposes) or create similar designs and concepts for other characters.
Since y’all Tumblr users love that color of the Sky post, I figured she’d be a hit with y’all; here’s hoping, since when I tried to sell her last 5 years ago on DeviantArt, things didn’t work out. I hope now that my artstyle is much better, she will get some love.

Just as with the artwork made for his brother’s birthday, although Chuuya’s birthday on April 29th has long passed us by, I still wanted to finish the original WIP artwork that I had posted to celebrate the occasion — and here it is: the next installment of finished artwork in this Chibi Cherish artwork series.

While Paul’s birthday may have already come and gone back on March 30th, given that all I was really able to post on that day was a WIP version of this artwork, I was still determined to go back and eventually finish it as I have with all artworks in this Chibi Cherish artwork series.
It brings me a great deal of joy to always be able to make these cute little posts nearly every month that I later get to complete, and I hope that it warms the hearts of at least a good few of you out there, too — whether you’re a fan of my blogs, my art, Paul, Cherish, or just BSD in general.

So, back on the 15th of last month, I had made a colored sketch version of this post, as I wasn’t really sure if I would be up for committing the time necessary to finish the artwork in full for quite a while, if ever; however, since I was, in fact, able to complete it after all, I would now like to make a much more proper post for it here on my art blog.
This is my take on the “Meet the Artist!” type of posts that you occasionally see floating around the various parts of Tumblr (except, seeing as that I’m also a writer, I added ‘author’ to it, too).  As stated above and as most of my blogs’ urls imply, the name that I most typically go by online is, of course, Linkle — although, there are some exceptions on a very select few other platforms.
My main hobbies are (obviously) writing and drawing, although I am also a gamer who loves playing video games, listening to music, reading books and poetry, and watching various shows and movies on TV — including a few anime series.
My favorite series out of all of the fandoms I am in is, without a shred of doubt, Bungou Stray Dogs and its related topics, but I also am a very big fan of the Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, Stargate (particularly SG-1 and Atlantis), Final Fantasy, Xenoblade Chronicles, Ace Attorney, Pokémon, and so, so many other (for me) somewhat minor fandoms that I haven’t mentioned here, but still love dearly all the same. 💖 If I’ve ever loved a series, chances are I will love it forever and ever.
As a creator, I am primarily an artist, writer, and theorist, who takes great pride in drawing my favorite characters and pairings and writing meta articles, analyses, theories, and fanfics for the fandoms and topics that are close to my heart (with my primary focus being especially centered around Bungou Stray Dogs and the general topic of Arthur Rimbaud — both in BSD and in real life, the research of which I take extremely seriously).
As a gamer, some of my favorite games of all time are Xenoblade Chronicles, the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Majora’s Mask, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Code Vein, Final Fantasy IX, X, and XV, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Platinum Version, Rime, Super Mario Galaxy, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE! (And there are probably some others I’m forgetting as of writing this, too. lol)
If you have any other questions about me, you should check out the Informational Grand Directory that I have pinned on my main blog! ^-^ Thanks for reading, and I hope to maybe see you around sometime!

In the early hours of March 31st, after only a little over 4 months of its existence, the official blog for my precious fanfic, Cherish, finally was able to gain a full 5 followers.
Comparably to the average Tumblr, I suppose that number might not seem very monumental to much of anyone, but at least to me, it means the whole world; after all, it means that a whole five people love my fic so very much that they are interested in following a blog dedicated solely to content surrounding it.
No matter how hard I try, I could not begin to put into words how much Cherish means to me. There are numerous reasons for that — some that I may find it in me to talk about someday, some that I already have, and…some that I just might never discover the way to properly express.
Cherish’s fans mean just as much to me. The idea that there are people out there who are invested in this story and its characters, who think about it and about them and who wish in their hearts to engage with that on any level — that makes me so, so happy. It gives me a kind of joy that is unexplainable.
To all of Cherish’s readers, its followers, its fans, and the hopefully many more to come in the future, thank you so much for everything. I love you so very, very much. 🥺😭💖🥹💕
I look forward to the next milestone goal we reach!

Sometime between late March 18th and early March 19th of 2023, my most beloved fanfic, Cherish, reached a grand total of 1,000 hits on AO3, fulfilling the another of our milestone goals.
Though I’m releasing this a little later than I’d planned, here is my official “thank you” artwork in response to that incredible record. I truly am grateful to each and every one of Cherish’s fans who helped this to happen; y’all are amazing and I love you so much. 🥺💖

Cherish Art Requests (NOW OPEN): A 1,000 Hits Celebration Event
Thank you all for helping my beloved fanfic, Cherish, reach a grand total of 1,000 hits as of sometime between late March 18th and early March 19th of 2023 — thereby fulfilling yet another of our milestone goals.
While my pre-planned official “thank you” artwork is unfortunately still in the works at the moment due to unforeseen circumstances, and will be posted sometime in the near future, to show my great appreciation for all of Cherish’s amazing readers and followers, I would nevertheless like to celebrate this momentous occasion with a very special event.
After running a poll on the matter, the results indicated that a majority of y’all who participated would be interested in me accepting one Cherish-related art request, and so, that is what you shall receive.
Immediately following this announcement’s posting, my asks (both on this official blog and my main one as will) will be open to receive your art requests.
HOWEVER. There are just a few rules I would like you to keep in mind:
ART REQUEST SUBMISSION RULES (PLEASE READ):
Art requests will be first come, first serve, and I will only be promising to take one single request for the moment. If your art request is not the first to appear in my inbox, it will not be discarded, but rather held onto, either for a time when I of my own will may feel like taking it on, or when I re-open requests during a similar future event.
Art request MUST be Cherish related, and MUST NOT involve any pairings not mentioned in the fic. Request does not necessarily have to be tied to any particular scene in the fic (although that is allowed as well), but it does have to at least involve major characters and/or pairings mentioned therein.
There are no specific limitations set on what type of art can be requested beyond this at this time, but you take full and sole responsibility for the type of art that you request. I am not responsible if you for some request some type of artwork that ends up making you uncomfortable in some way. If you request artwork and then change your mind after I have begun making it or even finished it, it will not be my responsibility to make up for that in any way. If you are the one to win the request, you get what you ask for, the first time you ask for it — nothing more, nothing less. Everything else is not my responsibility.
Request may take anywhere from a few days to a month or more to finish; the more complicated the request, the longer it will take. I will try to keep in touch with you if you so wish after the request to give you the occasional update on how it is going, but please understand that asking me if it is done yet over and over will not make it get done any faster. I have a life of my own and other things to do and your request will not be my one and only priority in life until it is done, even if I do plan to take it seriously.
In spite of the few limitations I have set in stone for this event, I still reserve the right to refuse any request made to me, for any reason, without the need for explanation. Like everyone else, I do have my own limits in regards to things I am willing to do even in my creative endeavors, and just because I can’t currently foresee a request that might make me too uncomfy to complete, that does not mean one does not exist. I may or may not respond on such an occasion, but I reserve the right not to, as well. I do not owe anyone an itemized list of my triggers, much less an explanation of why I am uncomfortable taking a request.
Any art requests received which go outside the boundaries of the rules will be discarded completely; although I am accepting art requests for this specific event, I am also a human being who has a life, interests, and feelings of their own, and I expect my boundaries to be respected even by those readers whom I hold very dear.
My discarding of other potential requests is nothing personal; it is merely an upholding of my own limits for the sake of both my physical and mental health.
With that being said, request away! I look forward to seeing what you all would like me to make.
